Not worth anywhere near the price.

Comments about Peavey 6505 4x12 300W Guitar Cabinet:

Ok..if you need a cheap cab to get by. For good tone, look elsewhere.
I had one of these for quite a while. They are made fairly well but the speakers are awful IMO. The 5150/6505 heads sound night and day better with a different cab. Vintage 30's are very nice with them. I had a Randall XL with V30's and also a V30 equipped Marshall 1960A. Both of these destroyed the Peavey cab in tone, thump and projection.

The Peavey speakers are muddy and lifeless.
    See above...
    It's not worth the price.

    6505 cab

Comments about Peavey 6505 4x12 300W Guitar Cabinet:

Like i said not bad but for the price new get the marshall or buy two of these used.
.I bought this cab used for about 350.00 its not bad but the casters are not as good as the ones on my 12 year old 1960a cab. It has a little darker sound than the marshall cab. The cab isnt bad all around, but if your going to spend eight hundred dollars on a new cab get the marshall its a little better quality.I think the price for these new is overpriced, but if you find one used they are usally
    Not bad.

    GREAT show cab

    By Bentastic4

Comments about Peavey 6505 4x12 300W Guitar Cabinet:

I love this cabinet. I play it with a Randall head with a BBE Sonic Max in the loop. I will admit that when played at a low practice volume it doesnt really compare with anything else. This cab at show volume is probably one of the clearist cabs I've heard in a long time. When cranked the lows are super punchy and the mids and highs are crystal clear. I love it. It's great for a lead guitarist, but someone who plays more rhythm should look into something else. It's 300 watts, soo it's basically built to be cranked and sound clear at the same time. It's sturdy as crap, I've been playin shows with it for a year and a half and its still in fine shape and sounds just as good as when I got it.

    Not very good

Comments about Peavey 6505 4x12 300W Guitar Cabinet:

This is an incredibly mediocre cab. It is extremely muddy and lacks projection. The 6505 is one of the most brutal high gain amps in the world, and this cab makes it sound average. If you're getting a 6505, I'd suggest either a Marshall 1960B or 1960BV (B's because theres more head room due to the increased amount of space), or a cab with 2 Vintage 30's and 2 G12T's (like an Uberkab by Bogner).

    Decent but.......

    By woodstock

Comments about Peavey 6505 4x12 300W Guitar Cabinet:

Now....I bought this cab and paired it with the 6505+ head. The head is killer but this mediocre cab really makes the head seen plain. If you go to the music store and do a blind test with the 6505+ head switching between this 6505 cab and a marshall 1960 lead cab you will hear a HUGE difference. The marshall projects better and has a more in you face and defined tone. Use your ears to buy guitar equipment.

    Awsome

Comments about Peavey 6505 4x12 300W Guitar Cabinet:

Well, to start off, this is an ok cab. I have the Peavey 6505+ head and it does well seeing that it is the matching cab lol. The cab has all around great tone. Nice low end, highs and rad midrange. The only thing I don't like about this cab is it has no features, just a pluge in for the head and mic but, sometimes thats a good thing if one is at a show and has to set up his or her rig at hypersonic speeds haha. All in all, good cab for the job.
