Peavey

Technologically advanced and affordable guitar modeling amplifier.

With double the processing power, models and effects of competitive modeling amplifiers, the VYPYR amp dramatically redefines the power and scope of modern guitar amplification. VYPYR amplifiers are based on powerful 32-bit, floating-point SHARC processors that enable highly detailed, accurate modeling as well as vastly enhanced flexibility and features than ever before available in guitar amplification.

Featuring 24 amp channel models--both the clean and distorted channels of 12 popular amps for the first time anywhere--plus 11 editable preamp "stomp box" effects and 11 editable post-amp "rack" effects with dual-parameter control. Players can use up to five effects simultaneously. When used with the optional Peavey Sanpera foot controller, the possibilities further expand from 12 in-amp presets to 400 programmable presets, with an on-board looper and more. The VYPYR also acts as its own computer audio interface, with a built-in studio-quality USB 2.0 output on most models that is recognized by computers as an audio device. The entire six-model VYPYR Series features the easy-to-use Peavey WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface.

Features:
This amp is loaded with possibilities and is easy to work with. You really can mold the sound into anything you want.
Quality:
My only complaint with the quality is that every once and a while when you switch effects the amp will "freeze" and you have to turn it off and back on. Other than that no complaintz.
Value:
For the price you can't go wrong. After playing this amp I will never look at my valveking the same.
Overall:

Overall a great amp. I wouldn't recommend it for the stage but definately a great studio and practice amp. Sound quality is excellent and the editing features are awesome. No matter what your style is you will be able to get the sound you want out of this amp.

This amp is amazing! I love all the effects, although I hardly ever use them because they are not my type of sound, but it is very very nice to have them in case I want to cover a song. You also have a lot of control over them, although I wish you had more, so that you could match other artist's tones with them, instead of just making up your own. The amp models are just wonderful! At first I didnt like them, because most of them seemed to metal for my taste, but now that I have warmed up to them, I love the sound! I havent been able to update mine though, so I cant exactly give you the best review. It is an amazing amp though and I made a great decision on buying it, but I am considering returning it to get the Tube Vypyr, simply because the tube has a warmer, fuller sound.

It definitely has enough features to keep you occupied for a while. I dont use the effects much, but they are very nice. I gave it a 9 because I wish that I could have more control over the effects and certain amp model, but that is only a tiny little issue that I can usually work around.

I seems very durable, and very well built, but I have only had it for a month, so we will see what happens

It seems like an amazing value for all the features, and all the power (trust me, it has a TON of power and volume. I have only turned it up to 9 outside of my house, and standing 20 foot away, it hurt my ears, and that is with city noise and a wide, open area.) I wish that the two speakers were stereo, instead of mono sound.

Just what I needed

This amp just what i needed. I am in a band and i needed an all around workhorse of an amp. The peavey vypyr answered the call. Before i got this amp, my "Rig," used to be a solid state 20 watt roland cube and a line 6 floor pod plus. It just didn't get loud enough. I was never able to hear myself over my rhythm guitarist and he used a tiny terror 15 watt combo! Not to mention my tone was very sub par. But now that is no longer a problem. The peavey was a huge step up from my original rig. Not only is it loud but it sounds great. The amp models are near perfect and the effects are just fantastic. Did i mention that its LOUD?! This thing is a MONSTER!!! The 212 speakers really push air. I don't turn it up past 4 or 5 at practices and gigs. In all, it is just a wonderful amp. I recommend it to anyone.
