Comments about Pedal Pad MPS II Tour Series Pedal Board:

I've had this pedalboard (same model, just older) for about 15 years. I've toured all over the US using it constantly. Never had a problem with it. It's a little heavy when loaded w/ pedals, but so are the cheap ones. Can't tear it up and it's been thrown around by roadies and airlines. The power supply works well, though mine has finally died after all these years. Haven't opened it up yet, but can probably fix it easily enough, or just replace it with a new one. The box and metal inserts are tough as nails and will last virtually forever. Top is easy off and on. I store a couple of extra cords in the top with Velcro, too, plenty of room.

Comments about Pedal Pad MPS II Tour Series Pedal Board:

I have the pedal pad for about 4 years now. First off, its built like a tank. I have used it for countless gigs and been hauled in and out of the back of my truck without even the fabric tearing. My only problem was that the power supply buzzed and hummed pretty loudly. The fix was a HUM X. That eliminated the buzz and hum instantly. Minus that I do recommend this pedal board. If your willing to spend a pretty penny on a pedal, then you should spend a pretty penny on keeping it protected.

Comments about Pedal Pad MPS II Tour Series Pedal Board:

I've had this pedal board for a few years now and it's held up well. It's been hauled around, banged up and has kept up for the most part. The biggest faults are the electronics. Don't even bother using the on-board power supply - mine went out after several weeks and it wasn't all that great when it was working. The good news is you have plenty of space underneath the top row to shove a decent power source.

Comments about Pedal Pad MPS II Tour Series Pedal Board:

Very solid in every way! However the aluminum plates are very sharp. I used a very thick almost rubber like electrical tape to cover the edges so my wires did not tear. As well as a rubber gasket/o-ring in the holes provided and ran my wires through them. So if you want to spend as little time and not to much money......I feel its well worth the buy.

Buy the board, toss the power supply.

Comments about Pedal Pad MPS II Tour Series Pedal Board:

For reference, I have a new Mesa/Boogie Stiletto Deuce II with a very silent and transparent FX loop. As soon as this MPS board started buzzing, I disconnected all power cables, and plugged in my old board's Vodoo Lab's power supply and it was back to being silent again.

I should've tested the power supply before I mounted everything. I knew better and this is the price I pay.

          CAVEAT EMPTOR!
          Two tiered design with storage.
          Great design, poor execution.

This is my second experience with this porduct after taking a 6 year hiatus. I'll never buy an MPS product again. I have a show tomorrow night and as I write this, I realize how foolish I was. These boards come with DEFECTIVE POWER SUPPLIES. They are loud and poorly filtered power bricks that buzz loudly. My Pedalpad did it back in 2006 and this one does it, as well. I thought 6 years would be enough time to straighten this out, but apparently not.
Back then, I called the owner of the comapny and he told me to solder a capacitor across two terminals on the power supply board to fix the issue and it made no difference. I really wanted to like this board because I like the two tier design, but the issues are not sorted out and now there are new issues - the aluminum plates have sharp edges and will cut you and your expensive patch cables.
If you want a two-tiered board, this is your only hope. The ONLY reason why I moved away from Pedal train was because I was tired of having my power supply and wires exposed to the elements by hanging off the bottom of thier skeleton frame board.

          Pedal problems finally solved!

          By Rob Wrong

          from Portland Oregon

Comments about Pedal Pad MPS II Tour Series Pedal Board:

Having never owned a pedalboard before, I did some hard research for about 3 weeks before deciding and plunking down the cash for one. The Pedal Pad had the best features and quality out of any of the pre-fab boards had. The power supply has 8 individual 9v outputs and can be moved anywhere on the top half of the board. The metal panels can also be set up anywhere on the board, and the bottom row panels can either be tiered like steps, or moved into a postion where it's one long panel with the top row for wahs and volume type pedals. The wiring is all hidden underneath neatly and with some custom made cabling such as George L's, it's pretty slick. There are routed holes on the panels as well as in the bottom of the box. If you have pedals that either are more than 9 volts or require a ac plug, there is one provided on the side of the power supply. Any extra transformer/adapters and even a powerstrip could be put underneath as well. I'm also doing some touring in the future overseas and domestically and needed something that was going to hold up. The case is super heavy duty with anvil case type latches that are spring hinged, and the handle is built tough as well. The metal panels are made of aluminum and light to help curve the overall weight. Fully loaded it's not that bad and packs up very easily. It's a nice feeling knowing I can just show up, open it and within a couple of minutes be ready to go. I did bend accidentally one of the panels using it the first day. I at first had attached the wah pedal right in the middle of 2 panels instead of up high or down low, I moved my wah pedal to a lower position, bent the panel back by hand and have been fine ever since. The panels are tough, don't get me wrong, I was probably putting the entire weight of my body into the wah pedal which I tend to do. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this pedalboard over any of the other powered pedalboards out there. Worth the extra money, well worth it:)
