Radial Engineering

The BigShot EFX is a true-bypass effects loop switcher that lets you set up two separate effects loops and insert them into your pedal chain at will. This means that noisy pedals or tone robbing non true-bypass pedals that you 'love to hate' can now be used and completely taken out of the signal path when they are not needed.

Better yet, while an effects loop is on 'standby', you can turn on and off pedals at will and prepare your sound. Then, with one foot stomp you can turn on as many pedals as you like for professional multi-effects performance without the usual tap dancing! Add the BigShot PB1 buffer into the loop and you can now drive as many pedals as you like without adding noise. For those that like quiet tuning, you can use the second loop as a tuner out and the BigShot EFX will mute your signal with a single stomp.

Compact, rugged and plug & play easy to use, the BigShot EFX opens the door to professional pedal management and lets you do it all right at your feet!

Features

  • Instant access to two effects loops
  • Take noisy pedals out of the signal chain
  • Create true-bypass signal path with all pedals
  • Compact and rugged for pro pedalboards
  • Easy to use and set up

Features:

two loops and true bypass. this thing is my GCX unit.

Quality:

i love this thing.. like the ABY its built like a tank and really reliable. yeah no leds but i can smell when a loop is on. i have six pedals alltogether in those loops, then a carbon copy, then the ABY to my amps.  thats my whole signal chain... get one you wont regret it.  and be warned about the popping when you first turn your stuff on. the loops i mean. usually takes one tap on each one and it will be gone.

Value:

like bob bradshaw says, its wise to loop your pedals verses running through everyone in your board. you can turn on two pedals without really turning them on and by one tap of the button it will turn your world around. do your tapdance before you have to turn on three effects. have a shorter signal path when you want it,, i put my main pedals in their own loop and my special effects in their own loop as well. so i can have three of my main pedals on without touching the special effects in my main audio. this pedal is a dream for me.

Overall:

overall,,, im in love with radial products, i have all the stickers all over my workbox. and ill continue to use them when in need.

I use this pedal to keep 2 different groups of effects separate from each other.  I use one loop for my most common effects and the other loop for the noisier effects (e.g. Boss AC-3).  This keeps the unwanted noise level down since I can leave all the pedals turned on, but only have the loop that I want active actually in the signal path.

Real simple little pedal, takes old and noisy pedals out of the loop. The fact that it's all mechanical and doesn't require power is a big plus for me, saves more power supply ports for other pedals.

This little beauty is a godsend.  I've got a good mix of analog and digital stompboxes, and by the time the signal gets to the amp, it is laden with noise.  WIth this guy, I can have three individual effects chains going (one for analog, one for digital and the normal in to out connection).  Because it is passive and has a true bypass, it completely eliminates all the hiss.  Other reviewers have complained about the lack of LEDs, but if there were LEDs, there would also have to be power and that would defeat the purpose of it being passive, not to mention the added cost.  For the money, it is well worth the price.

if you have a simple pedal rig or a complex pedal rig, this little guy can become your best friend in a matter of seconds. i have a bunch of noisy pedals, ancient pedals that bleed over, and a few of them are not true bypass.  this is a huge problem because no one wants to intentionally color their natural guitar tone. i routed everything to my liking and now i dont even get the annoying 'click-on' break in signal when turning vintage pedals.  i highly suggest this for anyone who is a serious player who uses pedals and doesn't have an amplifier with an effects loop built in.
