Combination power booster and buffer for your pedalboard.

The Radial BigShot PB1 provides 15dB of boost, accessed using a guitar pick via a rear-mounted recessed control that is protected from foot stomp damage.

Unlike class-B preamps found in most pedals that color the tone and give buffers a bad name, the BigShot PB1 features 100% discreet class-A circuit topology for the utmost in sound quality. Class-A circuits are preferred due to reduced zero cross distortion, improved phase response and the resulting smooth Bessel curve of evenly cascading harmonics. This is augmented with Drag control, a variable load correction circuit that lets you dial in the perfect impedance to match the original tone and feel of your guitar and amp combination.

With the PB1, noise is reduced while performance is augmented. Long cable runs are finally possible. And when you hit the boost, you get smooth clean control like you never though possible. The BigShot PB1 is likely the finest guitar power booster ever made.

Features

  • Fully variable class-A power booster for solos
  • Buffer drives multiple pedals and long cables
  • Drag control load correction for natural tone
  • Ultra linear performance for natural boost

Straight ahead power booster for soloing or preamp overdrive. Order today!

Radial PB1 for upright bass

Comments about Radial Engineering BigShot PB1 Class-A Power Booster:

The Radial PB-1 buffer booster allows me to plug my Fishman upright bass piezo pickup into my Neve preamp or live rig. Recording upright bass pickups directly into high meg impedance preamps can be hit and miss, cause high impedance inputs allow all the bass of the piezo to come through but for some reason can cloud up the tone and make a bass sound boomy. The circuit in the PB1 has the drag control variable impedance pot that allows you to lower or raise the impedance. You get a hi-fi sound with the drag at its highest setting (1 meg) or a lower-fi gruntier sound depending on where you adjust the drag control. This drag option is the single best aspect of the PB1 and with the great tone of the Radial circuit you will not be disappointed. The PB1 is THE front end for any recording or live rig. And you get a footwitchable adjustable level boost. The PB1 is only unit I can place in front of my Neve preamp that doesn't degrade the source. I wish it had an xlr output along with the 1/4" out.

Best Booster/Buffer you could have

Comments about Radial Engineering BigShot PB1 Class-A Power Booster:

I put this in the series effects loop of my tube head and instantly had a boost for all 3 channels! In the loop, it's a CLEAN boost with no tone change, even on the gain channels. Even out front of the preamp it's pretty clean on the gain channels. This thing sounds ALMOST as good as the valvulator used passively as a buffer. I recommend 2 of these- one in front of the preamp as a signal buffer, and one in the loop as a booster to double your channels. The level of boost available in the effects loop is way more than you would ever need. This is a GREAT pedal, and no other booster touches it.

Comments about Radial Engineering BigShot PB1 Class-A Power Booster:

This pedal saved my amps life ! I have a diezel Herbert and everything was fine in the store but when I spent some real time with it I realized the weakness that this amp has. The effects loop can not be adjusted enough, so I put one of these babies in the switchable on and off loop and that was that, problem solved !!!For that this baby gets a 10 in my book !!!
