This is the ABY you need in your gig bag - especially if you have the backline supplied for you at each gig.
Not only does this cool box give you A and B and of course - both - but this little deal can isolate your amps from each other (in case of buzz), you can switch the B signal 180 degrees out (if you are playing a Deluxe Reverb or Twin and want to simply switch between the two channels), and a ground lift for ground loop issues.
I use this for either switching between two amps - one for rhythm and the other for leads - or like I stated before - if you have a Deluxe Reverb you just use one channel - like the tremolo and reverb channel - for the rhythm stuff - crank the first channel and make that the B channel on the switch - and you have instant lead channel. Sometimes I even bring a little distortion pedal for the lead channel just to push it a little - and you have a great little classic channel switching tube combo that sounds fantastic. You can't loose!
The Tuner Out is a neat feature but is not mutable - the neat thing here is that you can put another amp on the other side of the stage for the bass player or drummer and use the tuner out to send that signal over there.
Everyone needs an ABY box from time to time -0 this one has the options that you can really use - so buy it today.

It does what it says. BUT and a Big BUT. It add color to your tone. I use it to switch between a old marshall 800 and a new engl fireball and both at a time.It changes your tone. So the true bypass is crap. Get the voodoo labs switcher. It does 4 amps with no tone change. Waste of money. I have been playing for 40 years so I know.

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:
I was skeptical about the quality of sound since it's not active, but trust me when I say that it works perfectly. I run a Carvin V3 thru output A and a Marshall JMD100 thru output B, and the iso transformer switched up cleared up the sound as if they were running independently of each other. No degradation of sound or sustain, even on clean channels without a compressor. I have no need for the phase inverter yet, but my sound is absolutely perfect. If you are reading this, and you need something like this, get this!!!

overall... this thing is in my chain til the day i decide to use one amp again haha...
input... outputs ... tuner out... no power... no leds... works like a dream. built like a tank and my amps play together so well.
this is a ten on so many levels. for 80 dollars its a steal. THANK YOU RADIAL YOU DID A GREAT JOB.
i was using just to pick amps on the fly when i wanted to use one. now i use a clean amp and dirty amp and my sound is everything i wanted. this is a big part of my sound and i could be happier. if your looking for something cheap. you can get the morley aby but i decided to spring the extra cost and i have never looked back. not saying morley is bad but for more features and great tone i recommend this.

If you don't have one of these in your pedel board get one. I have been playing for over 40 years and it opened up my eyes and ears to new possibilities. I have tried other ABY's and was never impressed and rather turned off until Radial got it right. Nice Job guys!!
I bought the Big Shot to run two amps at the same time. What I discovered was that using the phase switch on this unit allowed me to operate both channels of my '74 Musicman 65 watt 210 combo at the same time and acheive new tones that I never was able to get on eith side of this amp. Once I got the switchs set to the right position it just seemed to sing a whole new song. I now split between both sides of the Musicman amp and run my Marshall JCM 800 212 combo from the tuner output. I just placed the tuner with a mute capability before the unit and all is well....
Solid unit in a metal case. Rugged and will stand up to my big stomp. It could use a couple LEDs to show what channel is active or when they are combined. But this would require a power circuit and is really not necessary but could be useful.
Short $ for the versitility I gained with my setup.

I like it
I use an ABY box for recording. Bought this one to prevent the hum I get from signal spitting going to an amp and a powered DI box. Works as advertised. Output A does get a bit of coloration from the transformer which isolates it from Output B, but easy to correct as needed w/ the amp.
Big bonus for me recording wise is the PHASE switch. Switching outputs to be in or out of phase adds a whole new tone pallete to recordings.
Completely passive, no battery or walwart to worry about.
Initial quality seems good; solid built.
Not cheap, but does the trick: defeats the hum.
Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:
very satisfied with product, the fact that is has no lights is not an issue for me also I have read with the iso transformer engaged there is a loss of tone, sorry don't hear it for how I am using it. Also I run Radial ABY in front of my Rivera amp still no signal loss, turned the highs on my amp up a bit, and sounds fine. If you have issues with tone loss you could try a buffer pedal, but I have not found it necessary.
Very versitle I found the ISO the most usefull as I have a Boss power supply that has daisy chain connections thus interupting any kind of groung loop. I connect my tuner on my pedal board to A out so I can mute for silent tuning as I plug B out direct into a pa system. My morley AB makes an annoying popping sound when I switch channels, hooked up the Bigshot ABY flipped iso switch no more pops! Since it is analog it will give off a pop when using pedal to switch between two seperate power amps.
Excellent quality sturdy case, well built. small compact unit fits nicley on pedal board with out taking up valuable space.
A little bit of a higher priced pedal but well worth it.

I use this to run my guitar through a monitor amp and the main stage. It works great, no hum.
Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:
Its the best pedal I own cos it does one thing and does it perfectly no frills no gimicks I dont think it will ever break
awesome pedal does the job pefectly does have that crack when switching between amps but its to be expected since its analog. solid as a rock built like a tug boat. its an awesome pedal

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone BigShot ABY Passive Switcher:
You won't be disappointed in this switcher... So simple to use!Incredibly engineered product, and built rock solid. Passive switch, so no batteries/power supply are needed. I use this to mute my guitar output while I'm tuning since I don't use a volume pedal. Incredibly versatile, too, if you want to switch between amps.
