Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone JX-2 Pro Switchbone:
i cant believe that i didn't get one of these sooner!! there is absolutely no tone lose. there is a slight loss of volume compared to going directly into the amp, but it doesn't affect gain, or sustain. i was able to remove a tubescreamer from my pedalboard because the tone on the boost is absolutely perfect. way better than the tube screamer. all class a stuff is going to sound better. i am playing this with dual rectifier, and a jcm 900, with the delay going through the effects loops, and this little beauty, i have the set up that i have always wanted. i took out my phase 90 also because the true sound that i have now, i don't want anything taking away from the two amps. this is a awesome a/b/y switcher. if allan holdsworth uses it, than so can i.
Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone JX-2 Pro Switchbone:
This product works best with single coil, guitars like a Strat. For the high end guitars like PRS and Gibsons I found myself constantly adjusting the drag switch to dial in lost tone and touch. For example, when I play my PRS Santana soft or hard with this product, the sound looses a lot of sustain and nuances between my Marshall Triple Lead amp. My Gibson 446 sounds terrible with this thing. A good thing about this product is that it will eliminate the feedback between my Gibson L5 and my Marshall 900, but at the expense of loss sustain. If you own a Strat (and I do), buy this product, period. But if you have some high end guitars and would like to hear the difference tones from each without compromise, don't buy this thing. I love and hate this thing!
Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone JX-2 Pro Switchbone:
The Switchbone does everything Radial Tonebone claims it will do. Seldom do you get that in a product. I coupled two clean channel tube amps together to see if the Switchbone could retain the exact same tone as a strat plugged straight into a cranked Fender amp (SRV Little Wing type tone, clean with breakup). Unbelieveablely, the Switchbone will absoluteley retain the tone of the strat while pushing both amps, I really can't believe it. It doesn't color, alter, dull, or darken the tone at all. I have tried other AB boxes and they dulled and darkened the tone. Well, this baby can do AB and not darken the tone, plus it can do the Y (both amps) feature, and retain the tone of my custom built strat, WOW. The drag adjustment works really well. Simply use a screw driver or your finger nail to adjust the control and it does exactly what Radial claims it will do. The ground lift works great also. It reduces hum on amps that are grounded differently. I don't use the boost features, but I gave them a little test run and they were pretty good also. They retained the tone of my strat really well. I may just have to use the clean boost and mid boost in the future, as for now, I'm still pleased with the AB and Y abilities of the Switchbone.

This is it. This is the product you have been looking for. The boost on this thing is incredible, sending my 1979 Marshall JMP into "nuclear" with the stomp of a button. Turn it off and hit the "Both" button to run two amps at the same time and create an excellent doubling effect. The channel switching is perfect, and the drag/gain knobs are great for adapting your sound. There are certainly advantages of using multiple amplifiers, and if you are doing that then you need the Switchbone. Heavy duty construction assures me that my Switchbone will outlive me. One of the best pedals I have ever owned.
Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone JX-2 Pro Switchbone:
I use this to switch between the normal and bass channels on a Fender Bassman amp. You could do the same thing with a Vox or other vintage/reissue amp. Essentially turns a one-channel amp into a two channel amp. Can be done with any AB switch pedal, but I haven't found the sound to be very good with the three other models I've tried (high-end). With the mid-boost button, it's heaven.
