Randall KH-15

By Thrashead

from Chicago, IL

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a pretty decent amp considering its only 15 watts. Based on other 15 watt amps that ive used, this amp is better than most. The clean sound for me has a bit of fuzz, and the distortion sounds pretty heavy. The Boost is pretty cool but not really useful on an amp this small. Overall its a great little practice amp that has lasted me 2 years so far with no problems. Perfect for practice. The price might be a bit steep for a 15 watt, but it is higher quality than most.

Good Practice Amp

By THEICON2125

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

I needed a practice amp and I saw this one. Being a huge Metallica fan I was instantly excited when I saw Kirk's name and the price. I decided to buy this despite some bad reviews. It is a good amp. The distortion is not very heavy even with the boost on. I can get a very good For Whom the Bell Tolls tone out of it. It can go loud enough to use for performances, but I would recommend something bigger.

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

well overall this is a good amp. even with the clean channel turned up to ten it doesnt distort the sound and it gets pretty loud. the overdrive is ok with a sloppy sound but its ok and doesnt provide very good palm muting sound. overall its good for its price and very sturdy if i wouldve known i would have gotten a cheaper line 6 amp.

Great for Practice

By Psychotron72

from Undisclosed

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking around the local music store looking for a practice amp when I stumbled onto this. It is a great amp for the money and the clean tones are excellent and it gives an okay crunch. I strongly recommend when you play this to use a distortion or overdrive pedal so you get quality metal or rock tones. Overall this is a fantastic amp if you are looking for an affordable, portable amp.

Great practice amp

By Ironwolg

from Alabama

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

Ok, first off, this is a practice amp, it's not meant for recording and certainly not for gigs. That being said, I think it's an amazing amp. The clean channel is awesome and the distortion isn't as bad as everyone says. Sloppy shredders are the only ones who should have a problem with it, this amp does NOT hide mistakes behind loads of distortion. It can still crank out tons of distortion though. You get a very Kirkish lead sound, the rhythm tones aren't very MetallicAish though, but still great for practice. All in all, if you've got a practice amp and want something bigger and better, I wouldn't reccomend getting this. Get a Marshall or something like that. If you're just looking for a good reliable practice amp, this is a great pick.

It's alright.

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

I am a big Metallica fan. Kirk Hammett is like a God to me. I played his practice amp to try and see how it compared to the half stack version of his Randall line. I wanted to see if it would be good to take on the road and just use it for like a small and convienent amp to take everywhere. I love the clean tone that comes out if it, it sounds really good and warm for as little as it is. The Distortion setting on it though was a little hard on the ears especially when you put it on the second overdrive setting it just doesn't sound good.

Great for practice

By osxgp

from Cantral coast

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp sounds pretty good. It's hard to make a small speaker sound good, but Randall does a good job with this. The amp has a lot of mid range, even when it's turned down. I wish the amp had reverb, but I imagine that one will be made in the future. The hi-gain sounds better than most amps this size. Overall, it is a great portable amp and I am glad to own one.

Decent for the price.

By mreeve25

from San Antonio, TX

Comments about Randall Kirk Hammett Signature Series KH15 Guitar Combo Amp:

For the price, this amp is a good deal. Personally, I feel that the Roland Microcube is a better practice amp. I could not wait to get this, honestly even though it is hard to expect much from a budget beginner amp like this, I was disappointed. This produces a lot of buzz sound, even on low volume.
