OVERVIEW

Classic Randall hi-gain with MIDI programmability.

The Randall V2 Amp Head was developed for the guitarist who likes multiple tone-shaping options. The V2 amplifier head can produce almost any tone you can imagine, using a full tube preamp as well as a classic Randall solid-state preamp. Holding true to hi-gain roots, Randall pushed the boundaries of modern design that has resulted in this original take on hybrid guitar amplification.

A revolutionary new tube-driven MOSFET power section called "Valve-Dynamic" powers the V2 with so much reaction and feel that you would swear it was a full set of power tubes driving the amp. This 12AT7 driven power circuit not only has the feel, but also an accurate frequency response found only in a full tube power section.

I just cannot believe how good this thing is. I got mine and it was broke but....they sent me a new one so about a week later I got it. I plugged it in and went straight for the high gain so I was thinking nothing special then...I hit the eq and WOW!!!!!! It was amazing...I cried it was so beautiful. ALl of my other amps I was using pedals, hah, now I no longer need pedals I just flick it on turn on the eq and ready to SHRED!!! This amp has all the gain a metal head could ever dream about! It also features a standby button, which is good cuz this thing has tons of gain and it squeels sometimes even after u cut off your guitar. I only have to turn it up to about 8 or 9 o clock, very low, can't hear my band over it lol. But I can pull off some of the most amazing solos and pinch harmonics, I really don't know how I have lived without this thing for so long. If it were stolen I'd definatly either buy a new one or hunt that person down. Stop reading this review and BUY IT!! If you have any questions about it you can email me or message me just put something at the headline so I wont think you are spam or anything.

The V2 is filth!!!!

By skip

from Perth, Western Australia

Own a JCM TSL 2000 and a EVH 5150 lll running one through a marshall 1960A and the other through a 1960B and paired up with an ABY. Got the Randall V2 6 months ago and haven't turned the Marshall on since, this V2 eats it. I love switching between the V2 and the EVH and running together as a pair I'm in metal heaven I know it's all personal but this head is a killer, tight, smooth and the EQ does what an EQ should complete tone shifter

Randall v2

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Amazing. It's got everything you need. The clean is just great, the solid state overdrive is everything like a old plexi marshall. And the tube overdrive was the reason I bought this amp, it screams PanterA and MetallicA. I would recomend this to every metal/ rock guy out there (remember it's also very versatile, can do jazz stuff too). I bought it with a Mesa Recto 2x12 cab. Just awesome

Untouchable gain and power

By Tone King

I find it hard to believe what the other reviewer found disappointing about this head. The tones are just sick!!! It sounds like the baddest Marshall on the planet, only with boost pedal and low end added. The clean is ok, but both distortion channels are extreme. The S.S. channel is nice and tight and the sustain boost kicks in the classic Randall grind, but then the tube channel takes this amp to new levels. Insane gain on tap with tight definition and thick lows. I really didn't use or need the graphic, so you can see the standard tones are pretty sweet. Assignable graphic and FX loop. What can I say, this head is really good.

Awesome head!

I have owned this head for several months, and I enjoy playing it more everyday. It has a ton of power. Even at low volumes, it really puts out. I would recommend this to any serious player in any style. It can be molded to fit almost any tone you are tryin to get with the onboard graphic EQ.

Masterful

This amp is awesome!! It is loud as hell, sounds excellent, the eq section makes all the difference on this head and the density knob is a metal/death players dream. Bottom line is, if your a metal or death metal player then get this amp with a good multi effects or distortion pedal and that's all your ever gonna need even at a professional level. One helpful hint: run this amp through the clean channel!

Got the V2

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I purchased the Randall V2 from a local music store a few months ago. The useability and sound of this amp is outstanding. The solid state gets a very deep chunky sound. While the tube state screams for days. The only trouble I've had was getting a good EQ sound that works for both.

Tone/Overdrive MONSTER

By CRAGDan

from Saugerties, NY

There are many other heads out there that are much more expensive than this, and offer less, with a worse sound. Randall's answer to Mesa Triple Recto, but better! This has all the overdrive distortion you could ever need. The graphic EQ makes a world of difference. AMAZING head, the acoustics are also very warm and not at all tinny. If you play heavy music, you NEED this!

Get this...

not a marshall or mesa, unless you want that cookie cutter sound everyone else has. I just tried this amp out at a store in Atlanta. Now I'm saving up to buy it. This amp RAWKS!!! The tonal range is off the scale. If you can't find "your" sound with this then buy a marshall or mesa and sound like everyone else.
