Most guitar players are happy with their sound but, like a race car driver, they are always seeking that extra edge that pushes it over the top. The Nitro effect pedal gives you that edge. It offers over 22dB of gain for intense signal boosting and enhances articulation with soft compression.

The Nitro guitar pedal will turn decent amp distortion into great amp distortion, make harmonic squeals easier to achieve, and broaden your pickups' range--all in one simple tool with a single control for boost and a single switch to kick you into that hot zone.

Hey I got this pedal as a freebie and honestly didn't use it for a while but now it is back in my EFX setup which is in this order 1.Rocktron Nitro. 2.Boss BD2 Blues Driver. 3. Crybaby 105Q bass wah. I did a test and w/ my BD2 @ 12'oclock gain and then the Nitro full blast it is the equivalent of my BD2 when the gain is maxed. With both full blast it gives my BD2 2X the gain thats its normally capable of.I play a traditional 3 single coil type Fender Strat and use it to make my BD2 sound like a fuzz for Hendrix's 3rd stone from the sun or humbuckers for Zakk Wyldes Cry me a river. It adds a lot off chunk and sustain to my single notes and penatonics and a little bit of soft compression to even things out and 4 extra sustain. The only drawback is that its a little noisy when its on..Solution, Roll back the volume on your guitar when you're not playing.. Well, I hope this reveiw was helpful to you. Long live the six-string! >>Ron Fender<<

cheap pedal or mine must be defective there is little difference with the pedal on or off.not much boost, all the way up gave me a little gain, tried different batteries and power supply, does create a little background noise and hiss when on but not really a problem, expect this from rocktron pedals, my rocktron hush noise reducer pedal actually creates more noise, after buying this new , 5 minutes later the light burned out, only way i could tell if pedal was on or off there was background hiss when on, better off buying a more expensive one, and if a enhancer is what you want get the aurua exciter

A Great

By Old Rocker--gAd3

from LA

This pedal is really amazing. It's a great "sleeper" product that will make your guitar and amp sound better than every. I play mostly Strat style guitars and like a little extra kick to the output. This pedal provides that and more. I have a nice MXR compressor and use it a lot but this pushes your tone and sound over the edge with even great clarity. I also use a BBE Sonic Stomp and this has some similarities in that is seems to make your notes more articulate and clearer in the mix. It has a tremendous amount of gain boost that you have to be careful with but if you're conservative about how you adjust the one knob, it will really improve your sound. If your pickups or set up is noisy and you kick the gain way up, you will indeed get lots of that noise amplified, but, again, use it carefully and it's great. If you can find it on sale, grab it!

Edge + Sustain

By 54tone

from Jersey

This is a great little pedal especially at the clearance price. I had just dumped all my active EMG equipped guitars for a some with REAL pickups. The pedal puts just enough edge and sustain back when you need it. I haven?t missed the active pickups at all with this puppy in front of my tube head.

LOOK OUT!

By bluesman Dan

from southern Idaho

I bought this pedal because I just bought a harmony man pitch shifter that set me back a bit and wanted a cheap boost effect,I have been using the same rig for the last 7 years and never a problem,my last 2 gigs my rig totally cut out,so it's either the pedal or the new chord I bought to hook the harmony man to the booster, the bottom line in this thing adds way to much gain to my sound, you can't get away for it,I play blues and rock and my line 6 gives me any sound I want, way lame, sent it back, I bought the mxr 401. cheers

Excellent! Delivers the Goods!

By BigRiggz

from Chicago

This pedal does EXACTLY what the description says.It boosts the gain and adds a bit of compression.I would best describe its' functions as: tightens up your tone, without losing the charicteristics of your specific amp, and boosts and tightens your amps gain.It will give your amp extra crunch and expand the overall tone. If you have an amp that sounds good, yet the distortion is lacking a bit - this is the pedal for you. Great value, great brand (Rocktron), cool looks, heavy duty construction, excellent performance - the only negative is that it will add a bit more noise to your sound. A noise gate should be used with this pedal. But most people who care about tone usually have one, so this shouldn't be a big issue.

A pedal that works well.

By Mike K-VtKde

from Bellingham, WA

For the money, you can't beat this thing. It provides a good boost to your sound, and makes your amp sound a lot better. It's like running an EQ pedal and a compressor, but in the easiest way possible. I'm buying another one of these to give to my brother for his birthday.Only downside to it is you get more feedback and you turn up the boost. It's nothing unbearable. I shut it off between songs.

Boosts Harmonics?

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This thing is great for solo breaks to boost your volume and give better kick to your distortion. It doesn't boost harmonics like I wanted and expected. A great pedal for a lead shredder like me. It is cheap so... BUY IT!!!

Sweet Pedal

By eclipse666

from Toronto Ontario

This pedal is for hitting your solos out of the park. Its easy as hell to use and tough as any pedal I've ever played. The way this pedal works is you are playing rythem guitar and then you hit the switch and WHAMMY! More volume - to send you flying above everyone - and more treble - for your solos to cut through the rest of the band. For $50 you can't go wrong.

Adds some serious nuts!

By DieselxRep

from Dallas Texas

I recommend this piece of work! If you have bad amp distortion and need that extra little "push", then this is the freakin pedal! I have a marshall mg45, and those of you know how that sounds. I swear my amp sounds like a Peavey 5150 with this pedal! It really helps with pinch harmonics and its good for "jumping out" during solos. Good luck to everyone in buying this pedal.
