      OVERVIEW

Feed your inner wild streak freq-out with the Reaction Dynamic Filter.

Are you searching for something new to add to your setup and spice things up? Are you a guitar player who wants to add a crazy, phasey and downright out of sight twisted effect to your pedal arsenal. Maybe you are a bass player searching for something that will give you that funk with lots of punch?

The Reaction Dynamic Filter utilizes harmonic phase shifting effect that sweeps the frequency spectrum from high to low providing a unique one-of-a-kind sound. Since a dynamic filter is triggered by your pick attack, the harder you pick the string, the higher the resonant frequencies become. The sensitivity control determines the frequency at which the filter will begin its phase shifting.

For bass players, lower sensitivity settings provide a funky walking talking swanky arpeggio effect tracking your pick dynamics to produce a smooth and cool feel. Turn on the distortion to make it growl.

For guitar players higher sensitivity settings provide a more expressive "zipper" effect that is suited ideally for lead breaks. Play around with it and you will find that there are a lot of possibilities, all the way to a searing razor edge off the hook vibe controlled by your pick attack.

Level control determines the output level of the effect. An included distortion button gives you a little more "dirt" when playing. The footswitch on the Reaction Dynamic Filter controls On/Off status as shown by the LED indicator. Reaction stomp boxes run on a 9V Alkaline battery, or may also be powered by Rocktron's DC OnTap Universal Power Supply adaptor.

Rocktron's Reaction Series pedals are built into a rugged metal slim form factor chassis, taking up as little space as possible on your pedal board. The Reaction Dynamic Filter is a true bypass pedal: when you turn it off, it is out of your signal path.

The Reaction Dynamic Filter can be placed in the signal chain before or after a distortion, but it is recommended to place it after. If using multiple pedals such as delays and other modulation effects, try the Reaction Dynamic Filter in different parts of the signal chain until you find the sound you personally prefer.

Comments about Rocktron Reaction Dynamic Filter Guitar Effects Pedal:

It's like a cross between an auto-wah and a phase shifter. I use it for funk, rock and blues. Built very well, seems strong and sturdy. This is not a, must have, but it's a fun pedal that can add some new and different sounds to your set up.

Comments about Rocktron Reaction Dynamic Filter Guitar Effects Pedal:

First off, these Reaction pedals are built like tanks. The on/off light is an actual light that lights the control knobs. Awesome thinking by Rocktron. It is an "auto type" effect. With the distortion engaged it makes the effect more even across each note. I like this setting. Without it it has almost an almost overdriven response, and reacts to your picking pressure. The sensitivity setting Customizes the response to your personal playing style. I like it at 3 o clock, but I tend to pick lighter than most, Tthis setting puts me on the threshold limit. Picking a little harder than normal engages the effect quite dramticly. Picking normal produces minimal effect. I really like it for octaves. The lower octave sounds "springy", like a diving board. It turned out robe more versatile than expected.

Comments about Rocktron Reaction Dynamic Filter Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a nice compromise for a bass envelope filter. Controls are a bit limited but the Level knob is a happy addition not seen on many other options. Not as much control or as "quacky" as the DOD fx25 but has much better, consistent integrity of the low frequencies and less volume drop too. Had the EHX Bass Balls but is wasn't for me with the lack of control, you're kind of stuck with the inherent sound. I found it to be too transparent and on top of that volume loss was very noticeable. The Rocktron is similar in control but less transparent and better about maintaining a consistent volume too, still some drop with my Active MusicMan but on passive instruments you could even bump your signal up with this guy.
The distortion switch can make it really stanky on a guitar but you need to up the sensitivity for it to register correctly again this might be a passive VS active thing. It seems to play well with my bass OD anyway without adding additional noise.
The enclosure has a healthy weight and feels really sturdy. The switch responds as it should, feels like this will be a great work horse. I wish there were more sound samples around to compare this with others as everyone has a different expectation out of these kind of filters. Probably sounds most similar to the Dulop bass crybaby but of course working on dynamics instead of foot control. It definitely feels right for me, It's musical without being too extreme or getting buried.
