OVERVIEW

A great-sounding echo effect for any rig.

The Rogue Analog Delay pedal creates echo effects, from short slap-back to longer repeating echoes. Use it on electric guitars, electronic keyboards and more.

Three control knobs let you quickly adjust the speed of the echo repeats, the number of echoes and overall volume of the effected sound. A true bypass switch engages and disengages the effect. An LED indicator shows you when the effect is engaged and gets dim when it's time to change the battery.

The Rogue Analog Delay pedal is made of aluminum and built to last.

I was not happy with the Line 6 Echo Park pedal I was using. Too many features. All I really wanted was a pedal that can make my amp sound like it has reverb and produce a nice slap delay. This pedal does just that.

The Line 6 was noisy and needed its own power supply. If I would plug it into the chain of my Power All it produced a god awfull sound. Even with it's own power supply it was noisy.

The Rogue delay pedal can plug into the power chain with no issues. It's silent and has true bypass.

The slap echo it produces is very nice, sounds very 1950's R&R through my Fender Excelsior. I'm very happy with this pedal especially the price.

Nothing spectacular, just an inexpensive analog delay, works as expected, the pots/controls are responsive, overall though it colors the tone of your signal in an undesirable way, it makes it dull, somewhat boomy/less bright with a touch of distortion too. Gotta play with the control to find the sweet spot and use a lot of EQ after that, on the positive side it adds a feel of analog reverb (kinda) on your guitar. Some might like it, but some not.

Awesome Delay Pedal for the Price

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Buy it. You'll be happy you did.
This little analog delay is easy to adjust, has a pretty good range of settings, and is a TON of fun to mess around with. Some people complain about how it lacks memory, storage of loops, etc, but come on, it's a simple analog delay! If you want something digital, with crazy memory, go spend 3 times as much. But if you're into simple, easy effects that tastefully accent your sound and don't have a digital, fake sound, this is the box for you.
Solid metal construction, switch seems sturdy enough. My only gripe is that the input jack is a bit on the tight side... but I guess that's better than being too loose. Battery change seems a bit complicated (4 little screws that are easily lost/stripped) but I use a 1spot anyway, so it's no big deal for me. Overall I don't have any worries about breaking it or anything.

Sound wise, like I said above, it does it's job consistently. A slight midrange tone shift (warmer) when it's cranked and layered onto a fuzzy distortion but for my style of music that seems desireable... take the level down to 5 or so and the problem disappears. Whatever: it doesn't bother me.
For the price this is amazing. Even better if you can get it on sale! This is the only Rogue pedal I own, and from what I've heard the other ones are pretty low quality (with the possible exception of the Compressor) but this seems to be more than worth the money.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Great construction. I don't care for the button though. It feels cheap so I'm going to be extra careful with it. I love this pedal. It does exactly what I wanted and a little more. I played around with some nice slapback delay and then longer delays on lead. It ruled. It's not the best but I got a great deal on it and I'm so glad I bought it.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I will tell you the real deal on this pedal after using it and doing a lot of research on it. The pedal is very similar (if not electronically identical) to the modtone vintage analog delay pedal you see for 100 dollars. And it has many other names depending on what country it is sold. It is great for the cost and is a nice addition to almost any setup.

Here is a very detailed review for all those considering the pedal (your welcome! ha):

The pedal is decent quality. It has a great metal case and feels very sturdy. The switch is average quality and somewhat loud and a little bit firmer than other simlar switches. Also, the battery compartment is accessed by unscrewing four screws, which some may find inconvenient. And the on/off indicator light is a nice and bright red, albeit a little weird in how it is mounted and covered (you will see if you buy it).

The pedal is true bypass, whic is nice in many situations (but not all!). It does have a very audible "click" in the audio output, due to the true bypass switching (common). So If you have other delays after this one, or a loud/long reverb, you will especially notice the click.

The delay time is relatavely limited compared to a standard digital delay, but seems adequate for an analog delay. The shortest time might not seem short enough, and the longest might not seem to be long enough either (depending on your tastes and applications). But they do work. The max delay time is about 380 ms I believe. And the shortest is about 35-40 ms maybe. It is a nice slapback echo style, going up to a decent medium-long delay.
The repeats do have audible noise (like a stacic style white noise), which I believe is in part due to the voicing of the unit (it is supposed to sound "analog"). This bring me to my next point- THIS UNIT IS NOT TRULY AN ANALOG DELAY. BUT IT IS VOICED TO SOUND AS SUCH. THIS IS THE SAME CASE WITH THE ESTEEMD CARBON COPY PEDAL, THOUGH. Sorry to burst anyones bubble, but hey, what'd you expect for such cheap prices (and yes, even the carbon copy is cheap for a supposed analog delay pedal, with modulation).

The repeats knob is nice but it does not self oscillate (unlike, say, a carbon copy). The longest setting is not excessive and the shortest is a simple 1 repeat. And the level knob works as it should. However, turning it all the way to the right wtill won't mute the dry signal, so this delay won't really work in parallel mode (unless you welcome the phase issues it will create). You can mod this by changing a resistor value, but it is surface mounted, so it is hard to work with and could cause some damage if not dealt with carefully. I like to mod pedals but decided not to mess with this one yet, because it was too risky in my opinion.

Overall it is a nice peadal, especially for the price you can pick them up at. Any more than 30, though, and I wouldn't buy it, personally. It is nice for anyone needing a delay. The true bypassing and good build make it an especially attractive addition to a pedal array. It is nothing to write home about, but it does what it should and sounds decent enough to play live with, and possibly record.

Buy it if it is on sale, and don't expect too much. You should be happy with it under these terms.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Just got it. I don't use delay much so I was hesitant to buy an expensive one for 2 or 3 out of over 100 songs. So far it sounds great, doesn't make hardly any noise and doesn't have much distortion. I agree that it doesn't have a WIDE range of speeds and length of repeats. it's just a good solid old fashioned analog delay. This is a great deal.

I'll let you know how it does after a few months on the road.

I was doubtful of what it can do because of it's price. But I heard a beautiful answer when i used it with my MIM strat with a 5 watt-tubed Fender Champ. Very satisfied with my lead on electric guitar.
On my acoustic guitar it's awesome to hear the extended sound it does.
heavy duty. casing made of metal.
least expensive but high-end sound quality.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Overall this pdal was a great deal. I've also got a Rogue Tube Overdrive that I'm very happy with. I've probably got 20 or so effects boxes and the Rogure units are much more solid than some of the other low-cost brands. The quality of the sounds and hardware is much better than the Arion devices and the low end Danelectro series. The Rougues also have beeter control range on the settting than those other low-end units.
The pedal has all the right basic controls. I do wish the controls had a bit more range to be able to dal -in self oscilation and sometimes even shorter delays.
For the price it was great though if I caompare with other brands like Boss, the foot swithch and jacks seem to be a bit lower quality. Since the footswith is directly soldered to the PCB I worry abit that finding a replacement that matches the pads on the PCB may be challenging.

The main negative I have with this pedal is that you need to take out 4 tiny screws on the bottom of the case to swap the battery. This is no biggie if you play to pop this on your pedal board and AC power it. Using batteries, I think there's a great chance you'll lose or strip the screws before long.
i got this on a Musician's Friend Stupid Deal. I could not get a beat-up Boss used on Ebay that cheap and I think it easily sounds as good as other uints in the $100 range.

I thought for the price I couldn't go wrong..... I am more than happy with this, I was very surprised at the quality and sound of this. I highly recommend it!

I bought this pedal because I was looking to get my first pedal. My amp already has an overdrive channel so I decided to get a delay. You won't get a better sounding delay pedal for the price. I first used it at my church and I love it. It was a nice warm sound that is perfect for swells and is very easy to use. My only complaint is no tap tempo but I can live with that.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Great value for the price. Not a lot of delay but does add some nice ambience with a little reverb like sound. I use it with my acoustic to give it a hint of tone. Also works well with my telecaster but I usually use my modeling amp with that so I don't use it that much with the electric, just for that reason. However, when using someone else's amp or at open mikes, it creates a nice tone, stretching out the notes as well for that Country sound. Well built, made of metal, nice button, light, etc. For the price, every musician should carry one of these just to add a little ambience to your sound.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

It's simple it just colors your sound too much. On a clean channel it's not very noticable, and I actually like using it on cleans, but that's not what I wanted from it. You just can't use the pedal with any level of OD or distortion. It essentially does this to your setup, cuts the amount of distortion to half, turns treble to 0, and mids to 11. It just gets so mushy sounding. I could see how some people would see it as warm, but to me, it's muddled and mushy. I like the natural feel to the decay, but the original note is so destroyed, it doesn't matter.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Picked this up on a whim as one of the Musiciansfriend daily deals, hoping that I would be able to open it up and modify it to my tastes. Well, I got a really nice analog delay pedal, but all of the circuit components are surface mount instead of through-hole - a lot harder to swap parts in and out. No mods on this one. Fortunately, I could use an analog delay anyway, and it's a really great little pedal. Very durable (especially because of the surface-mount circuit board!), good bypass, etc. (consistent with the many other reviews here). Definitely worth the price of admission! But I figured I'd put up this review in case anyone else is contemplating some mods.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

A very good pedal for the price. It's a good reverb pedal, nothing over the top special but if you tweak it and play it right it can sound amazing. It has a slight modulation sound but it sounds good and makes the delay sound great. It's not a looper or a very long delay so it's not your dream delay, so don't compare it with a Boss DD-7 delay because the boss is 3X's more expensive than it. The only con i have for it is that for mine when i play something while the pedal is on it gives a slight hiss, like a low fi recording. It's barely noticeable at times but is worth noting. Overall I'm glad with the purchase. A solid quality starter-to-intermediate delay pedal.

Adds depth to your sound. Very nice and clean.
I have some older rack mount digital delays that offer more options but they are often overkill and more of pain to pack. This little analog delay gives me the extra depth I want on occassion. It's one touch, or one stomp access to another layer of sound. Well worth the price and durable for gigs. Plus it is way easier to throw in my gig bag.
Pretty straightfoward standard offering and operation.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I wanted a simple background delay, no craziness , just an unobtrusive layer to my sound and this delay is perfect for that. Its well built, battery life is good and the sound is fantastic for what I want, if lost or stolen I would pay a fair bit more to get another if I had to. I do plan on getting a TCE Flashback for crazier delays and the looper function, but it wont be a replacement, just an addition to my PB. Don't be afraid of the name, its a great lo fi, no frills simple delay, if you want that you'll love it, if you want sci fi sounds, ping pong ,reverse, in your face delay etc this aint for you.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've had this pedal for over a year, so I think it's safe to review it. I got this pedal on a Musicians Freind Stupid Deal of the Day for what I thought was a really good price (don't even remember what it was!) just for s#$ts & giggles. I also have an MXR Carbon Copy, and, I gotta tell you, this Rogue pedal, may not be quite as good, but for less than a third of the price, well......this pedal tonally, is not that much inferior to the MXR....I won't get rid of the MXR, but if it were lost or stolen, I would NOT be in a hurry to replace it. It does everything I need it to do. (I play blues, classic rock and some jazz. Very good pedal for a low price.

Comments about Rogue Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is a great value for the price. I picked mine up on sale for cheap. I noticed, however, that this pedal is identical to my Modtone Analog Delay. It is just in a different color case. I like my Modtone so I have no major complaints about this pedal. I wish the delay time was longer, but that is all. The pedal is warm and lush just like you would expect. Since the Rogue only costs half the price of the Modtone, when not on sale, I would highly recommend the rogue over the Modtone. They are the exact same pedal.
