Rogue

A powerfull amp with a broad sound.

The new Rogue SC120R guitar amp delivers a true stereo chorus sound in one compact package with 2-channel switching between a clean and overdriven sound, built-in reverb, and 120W of power.

For years, guitarists have appreciated the bigger sound that adding a chorus effect brings. The problem with effect pedals though is they can't deliver a true stereo sound unless you've got 2 amps.

The Rogue SC120R solves that problem by incorporating a true stereo chorus in its preamp section and then pushing the effected sound through 2 high-fidelty 12" speakers.

Whether it's for jazz or rock, a stereo chorus effectively doubles your guitar sound, making it fuller and more interesting for all styles of music.
The tone shaping controls are extensive in the Rogue SC120R with mid frequency adjustment that can pinpoint the exact tone you're looking for.

The Rogue SC120R also has controls for dialing in reverb and distortion making it an amp that really can cover it all.

The Rogue SC120R includes an input for connecting a dual footswitch to trigger the stereo chorus or switch between channels. There's also an 1/8" stereo connection for MP3 or CD players and a headphone out for practicing without waking up the neighbors.

Features

  • 120W power section
  • Gain control for overdrive
  • 3-band EQ with mid frequency adjustment
  • Built-in reverb
  • Connection for dual footswtich
  • Input for MP3/CD player
  • 1/4" Headphone out

Double your pleasure with stereo sound. Order today.

I love a great simple amp that doesn't have all the digi-effects that you don't use anyway. I play an Ibanez S570DXQM through a POD HD500 guitar processor with a BBE 262 Sonic Maximizer patched through the effects loop then into the amp and it sounds great. It may just be the BBE or my processor but it has a great bright tone with warmth and that heavy bass growl to it. I play rock lead mostly and always loved a great sounding metal crunch and this guy delivers.

I noticed that the chorus sort of takes away from the lower end and takes away teh oomph or punch may be a better word to use. More trebly, but it has extra bass to boost that up. I really prefer it without the chorus. I just want sound! FOr this great price I don't really care though about the chorus. I'm sure there are better amps but i'm happy with this one for the price. I do patch my sound from my guitar processor through to my home stereo and play both the stereo and the amp at the same time. Now that sounds awesome! It's like hearing your guitar the way it would recorded in stereo with the added presence of a powerful amp = a freakin' awesome sound. I call it a hybrid studio. Technically, the home stereo speakers are only satalite speakers (Pyle brand shelf speakers $26 lol) it still adds a lot to the sound. I'm getting an upgrade to my guitar (Dimarzio Mo' Joe pickup and cobalt strings tomorrow so I can't wait to hear what kind of awesome sound will come out of the amp!

I'm giving it 5 stars because I'm happy with it but if I were rich I would probably buy a much more expensive amp. It is suprizingly a quiet amp meaning little noise coming out when no signal is being amplified through it. I can turn it up pretty far with my guitar right next to the speakers and not have any uncontrolable feedback.

If you want an amp and already have all of the effects and just want some good sound get this.

The description is missing the dimensions but they are in the little manual so I'll add them here. For the SC120R 29.84" x 13.74" x 17.68 inches. 57.76lbs amp. Includes power fuse for added circuit protection.

I've had for about a year. Use it strictly for practice, pretty much daily. Use with pedals and without. Recently, the stereo chorus pops and amp goes out. Turn off chorus and plays OK. Kind of like having chorus, but can use pedals. Waiting for next thing to go down. Wouldn't use in band setting.

Comments about Rogue SC120R 120W 2x12 Stereo Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

Great solid amp. Clean with great tone. I use a Roland JC120 and this kicks just as well. Effects are OK but I use 6 pedals and they all sound good. The price was amazing. I also have 2 Rogue SC40r amps from M.F. Good practice amps you can run true stereo from a chorus or delay to both amps. This is good stuff for the price.

Comments about Rogue SC120R 120W 2x12 Stereo Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I am a seasoned player and played my first paying gig in 1969 at 12 years old. I am both a singer and guitarist. Most of my guitar playing is rhythym guitar, but sometimes venture out to play a few leads. I used to own a vintage 1980's Roland Jazz Stereo Chorus amp model JC55 with (2) 10" speakers. It was my favorite amp of all time. However it died about 8 years ago. I have been seeking a suitable replacement for several years, but the Roland amps can't be had for under (5 hundred) and that is not in my budget. I found the Rogue SC-120 on sale for (Cheap - more than half off retail) and I carefully studied the reviews. I had to give this amp a try, so I bought it... Wow! Amazing! And Yes, it comes pretty darn close to the sound of the Roland Jazz Chorus. The sweepable mid-range tone control makes it easy to make adjustments when switching from my Les Paul to my Fender Strat. The Stereo Chorus is Silky Smooth and Fat, yet allows all the natural guitar tone to come through. The Over-Drive channel works perfect for the type of distortion I use in Classic Rock and Pop, but may not be enough for the metal shredders out there. The over-all sound is Clean and Crisp and it can get Very Loud too! With (2) 12" speakers it can easily sound a little tubby, but rolling back the Low freq EQ takes care of that. It Produces the higher range very well, with a nice Bell Like, Sparkle to the Tone. I love the way the amp responds to variuos playing styles. i.e. When you play hard and spank the guitar you get that quacking tone, just like you would expect from a powerful guitar amplifier. Also worth mentioning - I run my Ibanez Acoustic/Electric through it too, and it does a fine job with that as well. This is a truly remarkable guitar amp and worth twice the price I paid for it. The only negative points are the reverb sounds rather muddy for my taste, and of course it weighs in at around 70 lbs, so it ain't easy to pick up and move around. If you are in the market for a good, solid amp with a great Stereo Chorus, you can't go wrong with this choice.

Comments about Rogue SC120R 120W 2x12 Stereo Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

The unit was listed under Bass amps, didn't double check. It has a very good overall tone for a guitar, but lacks the depth for a Bass guitar. This isn't a problem as I can work out something with my church. They are in need of a good guitar amp.

Comments about Rogue SC120R 120W 2x12 Stereo Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I was surprised at the quality and power this amp has. I bought it on sale and expected it to be a low end, middle of the road amp that I could use in the practice sessions and bang around. I find the sound and power of this amp to be quite remarkable. I would use it in a gig anytime It sounds as good as my show amp and I paid six times as much for it. The two 12" speakers give this amp some great quality sound and the stereo part is fantastic. good and clean for country sound and great distort for rock. buy one you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Rogue SC120R 120W 2x12 Stereo Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I recently purchased this amp to use as a practice amp at home however, when it arrived I was very surprised at the quality and power of this amp its a stereo amp and has a lot of solid good clean sound along with plenty of power also with the push of a button it goes right to a distortion mode that is as good as I have heard. It is a bit heavy almost 70lbs but, its a low profile amp that fits easy in my van I just mount it on a stand and its great for gigs and looks very pro setting on a tilt stand for the money its a great deal and can keep up with any amp of its size for about half the money two 12"speakers and 110w its a real pro for what it is. I would recommend it to any musician. Try it you'll like it

Comments about Rogue SC120R 120W 2x12 Stereo Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought 2 of these based solely on previous reviews. I am amazed at how well they convey my sound. I bought 2 because the processor i play through has left and right outs so i could get a good stereo sound and use them as monitors for my recording. These puppies are loud. i haven't been able to put them past one on the master volume and my neighbors still complain. They also stack nicely as long as you use angled cables.

Comments about Rogue SC120R 120W 2x12 Stereo Chorus Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased this amp for my son who had taken his VOX AC50 off to school and I was "worried" about it. I figured I'd buy this Rogue and get the VOX back home. I was hoping the Rogue would be good enough to play around with. When it was delivered I messed with it and couldn't get it to overdrive but was happy enough telling my son I'd get him an overdrive pedle. I then read the manual and saw it has a dirty channel you need to switch into. This thing is beautiful. Maybe if you compare it to a $1200 amp it'll come up short but I never expected much amp for this little money, clean and loud nice distortion I never was one that particularly needed the exact sound like some guys apparently do. It is a fine, good simple amp that puts out good sound. I might even buy myself one. I couldn't be happier and my son is happy with it also. I told him I'd ordered him a solid state amp he was sort of upset thinking the tone wouldn't be there but after he played it he was more than happy. Buy it you'll be happy too, unless you're a miserable human being to begin with.
