I needed WAH on a song for a customer, so despite the bad reviews, gave it a try. This Rogue Wah pedal actually sounds better than the old Dunlop CryBaby I had in 1983! It has less internal electronic "swish" or hiss noise than that wonderful old CryBaby. It also doubles as a volume pedal. It even has an adjustable filter, so you can adjust how much WAH you get from the pedal, which is really useful. It did not have any of the crackle or other problems other reveiwers experienced. It does seem to be cheaply made, and for the price what do you expect, so I wouldn't depend on it on the road, and would not stomp on it hard. If you take care of your stuff, and don't throw it around, it will be fine, but it is NOT what I would call 'rugged' by any means. The big surprise is how good it sounds. You can't find a wah for less money, and it actually does a fine job!

Good news = it's low priced! And the tone sweep is adjustable for the wah. The slider cuts down the highs as you go from max to min. The unit comes with an A/C plug, not mentioned in the description. No battery when you go A/C, and the plug happens to be the same size as the standard BOSS pedals.Bad News = Lots of hum when plugged into A/C. Not enough hum to bother a loud rock band, but enough to bother a recording engineer. And, the back end of the wah sweep (lows) is softer in volume than the forward (hi) end of the wah sweep.Other criticism. Meager construction and slippery foot surface.Reccommend using wah for live gigs only, above very soft volume levels, and preferably sitting down since your foot's gonna slip off the thing.

Awesome wah pedal, and cheap!

This pedal sounds better than my old Cry Baby. It has no background hiss, has an adjustment for a little to a whole lot of wah, and doubles as a volume pedal. I put up a youtube video of it being played, search by model number. It's cheap though, so don't treat it rough or it might break.

piece of crap

By hendrixisthebest

i bought one of these a long time ago, it was my first wah pedal, and i thought it was pretty nice for the first couple of days. after about 5 days, it crapped out, and i traded it in for a v-wah (which is slightly better, but still horrible.) highly recommend not buying one of these junkers, buy a crybaby or a vox. nothing else. i have a vox v847, puts this thing to shame.

ogue WV-201 Wah-Wah Volume Pedal

By Carvin Man

from Monterey, CA

This is a total disaster - it is in a super-light plastic case, easy to break & move, it came already noisy and useless, so I used it for a total of 4 minutes. Didn't even bother to return it, just dumped it straight to trash.

This thing is CRAP!!!!!!

Ask me a question

I bought this thing two weeks ago. Granted on the first day when I used it the sound was excellent and I was Happy that I had gotten such a sweet deal. But days latter the sound started to breakdown and today it stopped working all together. My advice save up an extra 30 or 40 bucks and get a Dunlop or some other model which is what I plan to do now.

I got this today , plugged it into my Fender Deville amp and this pedal completely changes the tone of the amp...it is so "Trebley" and "Crackely" I have to use earplugs.

peice of crap

Ok, I am 15 and have been playing for 4 years so if you're looking for a pro's opinion, disregard what I'm about to say. I hooked this thing up with a boss distortion and a line 6 spider 2, with an epiphone les paul standard. This pedal on the wah has so much static when you're using it it's horrible. Also you pick up radio stations on it! I will be playing some Zakk Wylde and I hear stupid country going on in the background! But if your going to use it as a volume pedal it works just fine. Trust me shell out the couple extra bucks for a crybaby wah its much better. All in all...not a good buy

Makes a better door stop

The volume portion of the pedal introduces tons of hiss into the sound. Also colors the sound. There's so much hiss, it creates a problem for sound setup in a live situation.

just for beginners...

Rogue WV-201 Wah-Wah Volume Pedalby Rogue. it is a fun toy to play with if you are thinking about learning how to throw a wah into your noise, but I wouldn't depend on this thing for live shows, or for keeping the respect of your other band mates. It starts sounding really scratchy with uneven wah control after not too much use. Also the variable control thing doesn't do anything as far as i can tell. a good 'toy'. I bought this hoping to get a really cheap wah, as it was my first and i wanted to get a cheap one prior to getting an expensive one. I wasn't expecting much out of it and i got exactly what i expected, not much.
