I have been very pleased with this. It has an onboard Tuner, for standard tuning to a 6 string bass, 7 different bass models. A Flanger and Chorus effect dial. The Rhtym Guide is a drum mahine with 3 different accents per knob position. This can be controlled remotely with an A/B pedal. I love this thing. For being so small it packs a punch.
This amp is my all time favorite. I have many bigger amps, but this one lets me play wherever I want to. I take it on roadtrips, to the backstage before gigs, camping. It goes anywhere. The 6 AA batteries last up to 7 hours. It has a drum machine on board. I also use it to jam online with online jam sites. I have taken it to recording studios, too.
I have had my amp for 3 years. The only problem I have had is that the MP3 input jack has lost the left channel when I plug in the 1/8 inch stereo jack, but I don't blame the quality of the hardware, I had let my teenager use it to play her MP3 player when all of friends were hanging out, and I think somebody stepped on the cord. The Cube has held up very well.
I have never winced at the price of this thing, and it has been worth every cent. For as long as the 6 AA batteries last, I have no complaints there, either.

First of all, A bass amp shouldn't be this small or at least carry a speaker smaller than 8 inches. The reason being that all bass amps I've played with a speaker smaller than 8 inches usually cannot handle the low end frequencies at mid to uppper volume range. This amp has some added goodies, but unless you use headphones, they cannot be head loud enough, it is a good "bedroom" amp as someone mentioned previously, like for afterhours at night. If you want a small quality amp with a lot of beef, I'd say Line 6's LowDown 110 is the best deal, 10" speaker housed by nothing more than a box surrounding it, making it the most compact 10" combo amp with 4 effects built in + a nice set of EQs and external inputs for live shows (for PAs and such stuff) and with a whopping 75 watts you cannot go wrong. I own one and it's the beefiest small packaged amp I've ever played without any technical problems. The cost is about the same as this amp and the size is about the same if not smaller than this amp. To me this isn not worth it, but i will say this about Roland: They do make some of the best Synthesizers and effect pedals. Their synth amps are also very good. They are not known for guitar/bass amplification as much. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps some of you deciding on choosing this Roland product. If you really love Roland so much for their amps, then hey it's your choice, but you get what you pay for, and here it's not THE bass amp, it's the features and size that you're paying for, which are nice, I didn't say they're not, but you want lots of low end, this amp isn't for you. This is only good for very low volumes.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
The Micro Cube Bass RX is battery powered and allows for use in extended jams where commercial power isn't available. The cube allows bassists to jam with other acoustic instruments and actually be heard. I was pleasantly surprised by the volume, bottom end and versitality of tones.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
I've found it fun to practice with. The drums are nice. The effects are also cool. I have taken it on camping trips and because it works with the batteries you can play through it any where. My wife plays piano so we often take our instruments and play outside at a picnic bench. The amp has been trouble free. The batteries don't last a real long time, but you can also plug it in with the adapter that comes with it. I never expected to use this amp like my mark bass and to expect it would be ridiculous. I am very happy with this little amp
Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
I believe this to be an indespensible practice tool for a novice, intermediate or professional bass player. WIth a built in metronome/drum machine one can practice and improve technique with various styles of music. Also with the aux input pluging in a mp3 player or connecting to a PC/Labtop one can play along to any music library or YouTube video. The quality of sound that comes from the amp is definitely not hi-fi or studio quality by any means, but for playing "silently" or quietly in an apartment, on the tour bus or in the dressing room this is an exceptional tool. I have only two complaints about this amp. If an amp has a built in tuner, it should function properly. If the amp also had a LCD readout display for the BPM on the drum machine it would be easier to replicate the previous practice session or to play the same song at a later date. My brother also owns this amp and takes it camping to play along side an acoustic guitar, afterall it can operate on 6 AA batteries! Overall a very cool amp and I have yet to see any other piece of bass equipment for the money that is as useful while practicing without a band or in between gigs.
Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
I wa hoping to get a portable amp that I could use with my U-Bass, but this isn't it. I tried all manner of combinations with passive P-bass, active P-Deluxe, U-Bass, but could not get a true bass response. No volume above a whisper without distortion.
Until Roland improves the frequency response to address true low end, don't waste your money on this amp.
I was very disappointed in the performance of the (4) 2.5" speakers - they just could not handle the low end. Roland would have done better to put one 10" speaker in it.
This amp is advertised as "loud, proud", etc, but I found it to be low volume, distorted and the speakers far below acceptible for bass. Anything below C was distorted.
How did this poor speaker quality get past Roland? You can get more bass response out of a boom box, Roland's engineering design team should have done a better job.
Thank you Musicians Friend for your return policy.
Neat to have all the effects and the metronome, but you can still do better with a Digitech and earphones.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
I really like this amp. It sounds good in low volume settings and if you are in a fairly acoustic environment, the sound travels a little better. I just wish Roland made another one of these with a little bit more power. I wouldn't mind if it weighed a little more or took more batteries to power.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
When I saw this thing, I had just gotten done playing on a much bigger "real" amp that you would bring on stage with you. Then I plugged into this.If you were to turn the valume up on this thing to almost full and close your eyes, you would almost think that your playing on a real amp with the valume turned way down. They effects are amazing too. The Octave Bass effect with a 5 string bass is so deep that you can here the individural vibrates. The drums were also fun to play with, and I had lots of fun with either the T-WAH or the Flanger effect but I don't remember which. If I had the money, I would be very tempted to get this just for the effects.
Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
This is the best amp for practice ever. If you live in an apartment this is for you. It is very loud for its size. The bass tone is very good and my bass guitar shines on this amp. It is loud enough yet its not making your ceiling vibrate that will cause your neighbor to irritate at you. The guitar tuner is very good and accurate. The built in drum machine is also good and handy. I wish a knob is choosen for the tempo instead of a button. The EFX are nice to have. The delay/reverb is a bonus. It is light and very compact and yet looks very good. I would recomend this to a friend. All in all I am very happy Roland made this product as if it is tailored made just for me. I wish it have a line out.
Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:
I had recently purchased an acoustic bass and found I needed amperage for when I would play along with a guitar and djembe, I did a search and found this amp. The reviews where good so I decided to go for it. I am really impressed with the thing. Lots of features, sounds great for what I will be using it for, it is more than enough. I wasn't happy about the price, but it is worth it, especially since it is the only battery powered bass amp on the market.
