This NexFX gives you fat, lean, clean, mean, dirty, sweet, and in-between. It has a sustain control to make your leads sing with just the right amount of sustain, and a rippin' analog overdrive sound gives them extra punch. 2 band tone controls let you sweeten your sounds and trim 'em to perfection. A power In & Out feature lets you power another 9V pedal with it.

While I have a couple dislikes about this overdrive, overall it's still one of the best I've heard. All the controls yield maple influence over the tone of your guitar. The sustain is a simple compressor function which is an excellent addition to an overdrive. If you leave the sustain and overdrive flat though, you can max the volume and get a very uncolored overdrive. While the pedal doesn't really color your tone, it does mud up your bass a tiny bit so it's hard to get an intense metal crunch out of it. I use it with an analog modeling amp so I'm able to compensate quite a bit but my Mesa setting gets a little too thick for metal crunch from it. I'm certain it's the pedal because this is only a characteristic the amp shows when used with both of my Sabine pedals. They're still awesome and at a wicked price. If you want midrange driven lead tones you absolutely can not go wrong. It will thicken up the thinnest solid state distortion that exists.
oh man, this pedal is one of the best i've come across. not only will it make your sound a lot bigger than it really is, but the solos...oh god the solos! it'll throw a sweet sustain on your licks and u may never want to play lead without it again
Don't let the price of this pedal fool you. I've owned just about every type of Overdrive pedal you can get and this one has impressed me the most. Not only did I play with it on my Gibson Let Paul, but I used it on my $300 acoustic. Even then, it was a smooth, clean, mean Overdrive machine. Don't let the small price fool you.
Sabine is quite an underrated company. I own 3 of their most popular pedals (OD/Chorus/Fuzz) and each is excellent. The chorus is a bit expensive, but this one rocks unbelieveably hard for the price. It's sustain knob is a very important piece for an OD pedal, and very few (if any) other overdrive pedals have one. It helps you add the depth and ring to your leads that gives it another dimension. All 5 knobs actually do something, as opposed to many pedals that have all those fancy buttons and knobs and plugs, and no matter how you mess around with it, you can't find the sound you want. This pedal has 5 basic knobs that all make a difference, and the tone shaping is close to unlimited. It's ease of use and incredible tones are very highly recommended. And for this price? If you're a serious rocker, get this pedal. It's well worth it.
