I play my gibson SG 90 through this, with a soldano 4x12. It gets amazing tones, even at relatively low volumes. The reverb is excellent, and the knobs going up to eleven is just an added bonus.

Just got this amp and WOW! I play it through my Genz-Benz G-flex cab and it sounds incredible. I collect boutique amps and this one sounds best in my opinion. I have Orange, Fuchs, and Valvetrain and they're all good but I love this one.

I got this amp for studio only. Not sure if I would use it as a "main" amp but it's really got some surprisingly good tones. VERY quiet and probably the best EQ on an amp I've ever seen. My only gripe is if you're not careful you can go from 0-1980 in a few seconds :). I've used this amp for just about every style of music. . . real nice!

I labored over buying this amp for more than a year without being able to demo - and took a chance. This amp is a very straight foward blues/rock amp. It has very good crunch tones, excellent rhythm sounds. This amp is pretty articulate and technique comes through clearly and is pedal friendly. The amp has more than enough high end between the treble and presence settings - maybe a bit too much. You MUST match a nice full(warm/bass) sounding cab with this head to be totally satisfied. I originally had a Sovtek 2x12 - got rid of it for a custom 2x12 (Greenback and G1230H) - that did the trick and kicked up the bass (cab makes a difference) The mids are nice and never very harsh through most of its range. Reverb is good - but I don't use a lot. Very expressive in terms of using different guitars. Dynamics like Guitar Volume roll off and pickup switching are decent (good) but I would not say great (maybe an 8 out of ten - check out an Ashdown Peacemaker 50/100 for unbelievable dynamics - very mature) I wish more manufacturers would offer LOW(20-35) watt heads like Soldano. I like the amp, I have been playing for a long time and am by no means a virtuoso - but this head does inspire me to play so I'm keeping it for now - but always looking. Hope this helps.

This amp is top of the line. It's built in the USA with military-grade parts. It's a simple design, but does what it needs to do. This amp will not hide your playing errors! It's so clear and unforgiving for sloppy players. This has a ton of treble, too. Depending on your cab, you might need to keep the bass turned up. Mine works fine with a George Lynch Gflex cab. This soldano kicks Mesa's butt on gain. You can get tons of sounds out of this. You can get it fuzzy, bluesy, rock, classic, modern up to dimebag. The controls are very responsive! It's a nice and compact head. Also, if you ever want it modded you can send it to Soldano and they'll do it for you, but that can be expensive. The other review is correct. It does love pedals!
