Warm tone full of crisp acoustic flavor!
The SWR Strawberry Blonde Acoustic Combo Amp is the little sister of the California Blonde and it's great for all kinds of acoustic instruments: violins, cellos, acoustic basses, mandolins, and guitars. The Strawberry Blonde amp features aural enhancer, spring reverb, a side-chain effects loop, balanced XLR line out, extension speaker jack, top handle, an SWR custom 10" speaker, and a hi-fi tweeter. SWR covers this acoustic combo amp in Blonde Tolex and tops it with a strawberry-red faceplate for a distinctive look. The Strawberry Blonde from SWR fis 16"W x 18-1/2"H x 13-3/4"D and weighs 40 lbs.

The Strawberry Blonde gives a very warm, bottom-end coloring to my sound (in keeping with SWR being primarily a Bass amp company). It is very rugged and ideal for live situations. It seems to work better when you go through the XLR input (mic) than the direct (piezo), and it maintains tone integrity at higher volumes. If you like the SWR sound, then you would want to consider this amplifier.
I have had many amps over the years, but this little Strawberry Blond is the best. I play a little electric now, but now, I mostly play my acoustics, and this amp makes them sound awesome. I play a Martin OMM, Ovation Balladeer, and a Maton. They all sound different, but this amp makes them all sound great. I also recommend the Blond on Blond extension speaker with this amp. Go stereo......Great amp....
Other than the California Blonde, which is too expensive for a local musician like me, the strawberry blonde is without a doubt the best sounding amp I've ever heard!
I would recommend this amp to someone in a jazz combo or another very quiet group. NOT suitable for rock situations because it is too underpowered, does not sound very good through the direct outs (in fact, when you mute the amp, sound still goes out the DI!!!) and distorts quite easily. The sound quality is okay, reverb too sproingy for my tastes and I've since given the amp away. I advise the Rivera Sedona, even at its price point, ahead of any amp offered here at Musician's Friend.
I play my Martin OMC-16E w/ the Bluestick from Schertler thru it. The sound this little amp delivers is awesome, makes your music come alive.
I have owned this amp for four years now and love it. I have played it at large venues and small venues using the provided DI and I have not had a single problem with feed back, DI noise, nothing. The little black handle on the bottom works great for kicking it back on stage to hear yourself saving stage monitors for use with the vocals. It has the best sound on the market for any one that likes acoustic guitar sound amplified. I have played bass through this amp and it sounds great as well! Buy this amp and you will never need to by another one.
By far the best sounding acoustic amp on the market. It is a bit under powered, but the XLR out produce an accurate voicing of the sound through a good PA.
Well like everyone else I had them all Peavy,Marshal,Trace. As a purely Acoustic Musician I needed more wattage with out giving up the true acoustic sound I play a Martin 12 String In a Acousticial Classic Rock Duo.I have gotten nothing but complments on the great sound.
Have been using this amp for 2 years and never, NEVER had any problems..Use it with a guild jf30 with a fishman piezo under the saddle...Sounds great...Just wish they made a cover for it..
I have had numerous acoustic amps and this is the one I keep playing. Even my bandmates beg me to play through this one. Very affordable, perfect for gigging and I have not found a better amp for an acoustic guitar for this price.
