All-in-one guitar effects extravaganza.

The Nova System is the complete, floor-based effects solution for the dedicated guitar player who knows quality when he sees it. Its unique inclusion of an all-analog programmable distortion/overdrive section under preset and expression control makes it the perfect choice whether you want to trim down your rack setup, step up from your pedal patchwork or simply just want the ultimate combination of operational simplicity and audio superiority.

Add to this an array of effects taken straight from the king of floor-based multi-effect processors; G-System and you have top-notch compression, EQ, noise gate, modulation, pitch, delay and reverb right at your feet. All you need is a guitar and an amp and you're good to go — first class.

Genuine, Analog Drive Circuit

What makes Nova System so remarkably different is the NDT - Nova Drive Technology - a unique drive and distortion circuit that gets you the best of both worlds: World-class analog distortion and overdrive with digital control. This is the real deal — no modeling. While the NDT is 100 percent analog and physically separated from the digital effects, its control potmeters are digital. This way you can tweak, store and recall as many drive settings as you want - you can even hook up an expression pedal and control the amount of distortion in real-time. Its wide gain range covers your every need from light breakup to heavy distortion.

Top-notch Effects

Equipped with TC branded quality effects from delays and reverbs to compressor, EQ and modulation, the TC Electronic Nova System is the obvious all-in-one effect processor for any guitarist who wants setup simplicity without sacrificing tonal fidelity. All neatly programmable and storable in 60 user presets. Its 30 factory presets give you a demonstration of just what the Nova System provides; great sound quality and an immense versatility of effects combinations — all designed to get you started right out of the box.

Features

  • NDT - Nova Drive Technology: All-analog programmable overdrive and distortion circuit under preset and expression control.
  • 6 effect blocks taken straight from G-System: Compression, EQ + Noise Gate, Modulation, Pitch, Delay, Reverb
  • 30 factory and 60 user presets
  • Two footswitch layouts: preset and pedal
  • Hi-Z and balanced input + balanced stereo outputs
  • Optional G-Switch for added control

Nova System Multi Effects Pedal

Features:

The tc elecronic Nova System is a programmable multi effects pedal with world class effects. 30 factory presets, 60 user presets. You can even download 44 presets from their website from people like Peter Thorn and Bumblefoot. Effects include tc electronic's world renowned chorus and delay,  as well as multiple pitch, modulation, compression, reverb, dirt and boost functions. This pedal has allowed me to eliminate a massive pedalboard with thousands of dollars in boutique effects. If you're looking for amp modeling, you won't find it here, which is a plus IMHO. Suggest using a MIDI controller and expression pedal to get the most out of the unit.

Having owned similar units by Boss/Roland, Vox and Line 6 in the past, this is the best sounding unit with the easiest most intuitive programmability. Like the other units, most presets aren't that usable from the factory, but provide a good starting point.

Negatives? No on-off switch, no headphones out. Not deal breakers.

What a great find.  I play a variety of guitars:  Original Gene Baker, Parker Fly, Custom Strat, and an Ibanez Euphoria (acoustic electric) live and studio.  I have been able to use the presets and variations to the max for all four guitars.  Built like a tank, seamless effects transitions, typical TC quiet, very easy to program from scratch or edit.  Even though I have a Dumble, Hermida Zen, Stampede, Tube Screamer...the OD and Distortion pre's are pretty cool for the smaller gigs or light studio work.  Sounds great in front of all my amps and direct into the board (live or studio).  I play a lot of jazz, R&B, funk, folk, many rock genres, just no banjos.  Heh, works great and is extremely versatile.  For me it's a winner.  A+ and had I not bought a G System rack... I never would have thought to buy this for not just convenience sake, but a plethora of sonic "paints" to choose from for the proper application.  Great for when I fly out to a gig.  Make em cry or melt some faces.  Nice job!

I don't love it

Features:

I wanted to love it, but I just can't.  I use a TC delay in my pedal board and I love it, so I thought this might be a good solution to venues that provide the backline.   The problem I found was that some of the effects were too poor to use or ineffective.   I could not get the overdrive or distortion to work without being incredibly noisy and even then the overdrive was not terrfic.  The compressor was anemic and not usable for me.  The chorus was ok but not as lush as I would like.   I liked the reverb and echo, but that is to be expected from TC.

Quality:

These guys makes nice stuff.  I can find no fault with the quality.  This unit is built like a tank.  I love that it uses an AC cord, as I am totally allergic to wall warts and in-line power supplies.  The shape is a little awkward as far as being able to find a decent bag or case to protect it.

Value:

The price is good given that it is a TC product with a lot of effects, but not so good for me given that I don't like it.

Overall:

Overall ... Meh!   I sold mine and will stick with my pedalboard when I need to use pedals.  To be fair, I don't like to spend excessive amounts of time trying to make a multi effects unit sound good.  That's what I pay good money and I expect something usable in return for my cash.  Perhaps a larger investment in time would have yielded a better result, but I would rather spend my time playing than tinkering with effects.

Amazing

Features:

Let me start off by saying that I had expensive rack effects (Axe FX Ultra, G-major 2 etc), super high end guitar pedals, expensive multi effects pedals (had the Boss GT8 back in the day when it was the latest and greatest), and I have owned Vox AC30, Mesa Nomad, Dual Rectifier, Roadster, Hughes and Kettner Duotone etc. I am SUPER picky with my gear, and I expect high quality effects.

What I love about this unit is the fact that all the effects are useful. I am a delay fanatic, and I love the delay options this pedal has to offer. It is easy to set up and configure. All the features this pedal has are useful. It can be set up multiple ways (stompbox style, preset style) to adjust to all your needs.

Quality:

Exceptional quality. I wish the knobs were less flimsy, but I take care of it so I have no problems. I keep it in a hard case at all times when I carry it around. The overall casing is metal, and the design is beautiful.

Value:

If you think about it, its like owning a bunch of different pedals (distortion, compressor, delay, tremolo etc), but they are all integrated into one unit. I put it in a case and carry it, and its super easy. I don't have to spend money on buying individual pedals and connection cables. I plug into one unit, and occupy one power supply. I love the simplicity.

If you are to buy all these effects separately, it would cost a lot of money. I give it full rating for value because its compact, built like a tank, easy to configure, and has high quality USEFUL effects.

Overall:

I have owned a lot of expensive gear, but this is the only useful unit that is easy to set up and sounds good that I have settled with. Sure you can get crazy stuff, but you probably won't use 95% of the effects. The effects in this are useful and easy to set up. Did I mention the overdrive and distortion is analog?

I would recommend this for any type of music as long as you are using an amp. I use Mesa amps, therefore I don't use the distortion on this unit (but I have used it before). If you are planning to not use an amp, this unit is not ideal to plug and play directly into the sound system.

Hope this helps. Read the manual before you purchase and be realistic about the effects that you need.

Great sounding unit. The EQ is stellar! it will really make your tone more pro. Yeah the chorus just fine with no problems at all,I think people dont know how to set it up right it sounds as good as my MXR stereo chorus. This wont tone suck either, I run it in my loops on my Fireball 100. No more patch cables to worry about, I love this unit!
