I will skip the tech talk and just tell you this, what ever Tech 21 says this amp will do, it will do it. I have spent well over a year trying and testing other great bass amps but I wish I would have started with this amp first. This amp's 300 watts is way more than enough as long as your running with the right ohms set up. What ever sound your looking for, you will find it here. I play at church and after I brought in this amp I have received compliment after compliment from the band members, the congregation and especially the sound techs. Easy to use and easy to find "YOUR" sound. I also love the foot pedal! Channel 1, channel 2, mix, and mute. I am so happy that I found Tech 21. So will you.

I bought my Landmark 300 about a year and a half ago and I must say it's the best, most versitile amp I've ever owned! Getting on in age (55) I was tired of lugging a 60lb rack around. It sounded great (Trace-Elliot, Samson) and had tremendous power (1200 watts) but it was just TOO HEAVY! I found a used Landmark at the local used gear store and plugged it in. This is one LOUD 300 watt amp (at 4 ohms which I have). Tonally it is more than versitile enough. I set channel one for SVT to use with my '74 Jazz bass and channel 2 for Bassman to use with my '68 Telecaster Bass and my Hofner. Tone heaven! Plus, at 21 pounds, MUCH easier on the back. This amp absolutely compares with other top end amps of the same wattage rating (Ampeg SVT3, etc.) I needed rack ears and the guys at Tech 21 shipped them immediately. My only complaint is that the footswitch could be a bit more rugged. I've had to "unbend" the circuit board a few times. Highly recommended!!!

I love this amp. It is great! I played a gig last week with it, and the sound I love, warm tube like, with punch was there. The drummer had a smile on his face all night. I could be heard easily and distinctly. I love the use of the foot switch. Channel 1, 2 or both simultaneously. I play R&B and classic rock, so the sound has to come thru. I could feel the low end as well as hear the tone;this thing is the bomb. Sans Amp technology in a killer amp.

I crawled throughout the Net reading reviews, looking for something known to produce a fantastic tone and talked to a lot of other bass players and studio engineers about how one might get it. My research (nerdy approach, I know) was telling me that I'd either have to fork out tons of cash and buy Ampeg or SWR or go for a more affordable preamp/poweramp approach. Guesss what? I don't have tons of cash. So I started to hunt down well known preamps and came accross the tech21 stuff. The bass driver di stomp box was very well regarded and then I remembered that Tool's bass player used a rack mount version (the RBI). This left me to think about power amps. To my surprise and delight, I found they also do a version build into a power amp. Handy. I went right out and bought one new. OK, I know this was risk. It really payed off though, this thing's incredible. I've marked it as having low features but please don't hold it against it. It's great that it can model loads of amps but realistically, for a stage amp, are you ever going to need them? In the studio, I want the engineer to record the bass sound I've been crafting, not some "classic rig". If they put other "funky" features on it, I think it would spoil it. Having said that: close your eyes and you're standing in front of an Ampeg. Honestly. Digital modeling is rubbish IMHO but this, being analog, is a different story. The warmth and richness that comes out is just superb.I can't ever see me parting with it. Why would I need to? If my tastes change so will it and if I need more power, I'll just slave off a power amp (or buy the bigger version? hmmmm). I've had mine for over a year now and never seen anyone else with one of these; it's a crime. I run it through a peavey 410 TVX now and it almost brings tears of joy to my eyes. I very much doubt you'll find these second hand, at least not for a long while yet.Bottom line: money will buy you happiness if you spend it on this amp.
