Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

LM 300 punches my 18" CV speaker. Can get unlimited tones from the emulator; two channels with the capability of mixing tones in one with the other. Only drawback in weight-21 lbs. Kinda heavy for gigging, but worth it.

Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

Great tonal versatility, surprisingly powerful sounding, even at 8 ohms, running just 1 1-12" Markbass Traveller cabinet.(400 watt rated),it sounds huge. I am looking forward to getting the optional foot pedal to combine the 2 channels. A great sounding amp that gets the tube sounds i'm after,it brings out the best in my Rickenbacker basses.

Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

Couldn't be happier with this purchase. This amp is more versatile than it looks. I bought it w/o even realizing a couple of really neat features.
On channel one, when you boost bass and treble, you cut the mids. When you cut the bass and treble, you boost the mids. Second hidden feature. On channel two, The parametric turns into a "standard" amp shelving eq when you set the knob at 1000hz. Wow! It's like two midrange eq's on the same channel. Also, with hot pickups and the gain knob engaged, this amp provides some of THE BEST bass distortion ever!. This Death From Above 1979 or Zvex mastotron fuzz pedal. Excellent. Simple features, Solid build and an extensive rear panel that has an actual SansAmp DI out the back. I'll have this bass amp for the rest of my life. Period.

Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

I used this amp on 1 job so far, with an 18 and two 10's, and it was excellent. My complaint is not with the amp. Musicians friend, for the third time in a row, sent me a 'it has shipped' notice...and then the item did not show up on time. On this amp, I ordered it on Tuesday before 11:00 a.m. and was told by the online salesperson it would be delivered by Friday. It was not here until Monday...again, for the third, and possibly LAST order I'll make from M.F. The amp is great...the online store...not so much.

Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

Tech 21 is a great company that makes and an outstanding product at a fair price. The customer service is top notch and very responsive. This 300 watt at 4 ohm head is more than enough for any event or practice that I have every played. I cant really see why you would need more as long as your have the right speaker configuration. Its got a very robust power supply that really helps keep the low notes feeling very full, solid and rounded as the volume is increased. It has two separate channels that can be mixed together using the foot switch. Make one channel clean and the other dirty for some very cool textured tones. This amp makes all my basses sound very nice. Lastly I was at the studio recently and the sound engineer complemented the Tech 21 equipment head and cabinet and said how well it tracked. That was a very cool thing to hear. Great product and company.

I will skip the tech talk and just tell you this, what ever Tech 21 says this amp will do, it will do it. I have spent well over a year trying and testing other great bass amps but I wish I would have started with this amp first. This amp's 300 watts is way more than enough as long as your running with the right ohms set up. What ever sound your looking for, you will find it here. I play at church and after I brought in this amp I have received compliment after compliment from the band members, the congregation and especially the sound techs. Easy to use and easy to find "YOUR" sound. I also love the foot pedal! Channel 1, channel 2, mix, and mute. I am so happy that I found Tech 21. So will you.

            Great Amp!

            By Jim Murphy

            from Jaffrey, NH

Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

I bought my Landmark 300 about a year and a half ago and I must say it's the best, most versitile amp I've ever owned! Getting on in age (55) I was tired of lugging a 60lb rack around. It sounded great (Trace-Elliot, Samson) and had tremendous power (1200 watts) but it was just TOO HEAVY! I found a used Landmark at the local used gear store and plugged it in. This is one LOUD 300 watt amp (at 4 ohms which I have). Tonally it is more than versitile enough. I set channel one for SVT to use with my '74 Jazz bass and channel 2 for Bassman to use with my '68 Telecaster Bass and my Hofner. Tone heaven! Plus, at 21 pounds, MUCH easier on the back. This amp absolutely compares with other top end amps of the same wattage rating (Ampeg SVT3, etc.) I needed rack ears and the guys at Tech 21 shipped them immediately. My only complaint is that the footswitch could be a bit more rugged. I've had to "unbend" the circuit board a few times. Highly recommended!!!

Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

I love this amp. It is great! I played a gig last week with it, and the sound I love, warm tube like, with punch was there. The drummer had a smile on his face all night. I could be heard easily and distinctly. I love the use of the foot switch. Channel 1, 2 or both simultaneously. I play R&B and classic rock, so the sound has to come thru. I could feel the low end as well as hear the tone;this thing is the bomb. Sans Amp technology in a killer amp.

Quite simply the best tone I've ever produced

            By Anonymous

            from Undisclosed

Comments about Tech 21 Landmark 300 300W Bass Head:

I crawled throughout the Net reading reviews, looking for something known to produce a fantastic tone and talked to a lot of other bass players and studio engineers about how one might get it. My research (nerdy approach, I know) was telling me that I'd either have to fork out tons of cash and buy Ampeg or SWR or go for a more affordable preamp/poweramp approach. Guesss what? I don't have tons of cash. So I started to hunt down well known preamps and came accross the tech21 stuff. The bass driver di stomp box was very well regarded and then I remembered that Tool's bass player used a rack mount version (the RBI). This left me to think about power amps. To my surprise and delight, I found they also do a version build into a power amp. Handy. I went right out and bought one new. OK, I know this was risk. It really payed off though, this thing's incredible. I've marked it as having low features but please don't hold it against it. It's great that it can model loads of amps but realistically, for a stage amp, are you ever going to need them? In the studio, I want the engineer to record the bass sound I've been crafting, not some "classic rig". If they put other "funky" features on it, I think it would spoil it. Having said that: close your eyes and you're standing in front of an Ampeg. Honestly. Digital modeling is rubbish IMHO but this, being analog, is a different story. The warmth and richness that comes out is just superb.I can't ever see me parting with it. Why would I need to? If my tastes change so will it and if I need more power, I'll just slave off a power amp (or buy the bigger version? hmmmm). I've had mine for over a year now and never seen anyone else with one of these; it's a crime. I run it through a peavey 410 TVX now and it almost brings tears of joy to my eyes. I very much doubt you'll find these second hand, at least not for a long while yet.Bottom line: money will buy you happiness if you spend it on this amp.
