I am a touring musician that has run the gambit of dive bars to casinos, to opening for 10,000+ screaming folks. I looked for a long time for a combo that would give me enough power and tweak-ability to hear myself the way I wanted to on a variety of stages...after going through a SWR Redhead, a Genz Benz Shuttle Bass combo, and a David Eden Metro, the 1215 gave me everything I was looking for. The 15" is very tight, and has the a lower thump compared to the 2x10 versions that really helps on loud stages to stay in the pocket better with the kick. Apart from the versatility in sound options, the kicker is that I can shape the sound to my liking, and then run the DI output flat BEFORE eq and effects so the sound man has a clean signal to work with on the mains. If it's not powerful enough for you, you can add an extension cab that feeds an additional 150w out. I have now played over 200 shows on this thing, had drinks spilt on her, dropped by weak bandmates (It is almost 90lbs of quality), and it just won't die. Yes it is expensive, but it's worth every penny...and while the other amp combos I tried all sounded good, none of them gave me as many sounds and options as the 1215 does. 5 stars all around!
The bassist in my band found this amp on the side of the road in a ditch while coming home from work. He replaced the speaker and bam. Good as new. Powerful, and has a very broad range of tones. I rated low on value because it looks expensive, but I'm a drummer, so I'm not sure how much bass amps run. The only downfall is that it's internal fan is somewhat noisy. Other than that it is an amazing amp!
