The Visual Sound GarageTone Axle Grease Delay pedal is ultra-affordable and delivers mind-bending sounds. You won't believe your ears when you plug into the Axle Grease Delay. Although the Axle Grease stompbox uses a hybrid digital/analog circuit, the tone is all analog delay. Warm, natural sounding echos to whacky space effects emerge when you turn the Delay Time knob. GarageTone Axle Grease also has self-oscillating capabilities.
CAUTION: When using the Analog Mayhem setting, turn down the Repeats knobs to cancel the self-oscillating repeats if the sound gets too loud; you can also turn down the Level knob to continue the repeats at lower volume. For some really cool effects, turn the Axle Grease Delay pedal's Time knob during the repeats.

This pedal is such a steal for the price. Plays almost exactly like the boss delay pedal that I used to own. I have been playing for five years and it is such an excellent pedal. Given the choice, I would use this over the boss pedals anytime.

I got this pedal a few weeks back, and I must say I'm impressed with the overall tone and dynamics. The sound is purely analog, even though it uses a digital chip. The repeat tone has just the right amount of analog distortion without sounding fuzzy or irrealistic. My only dislike is the fact that it has no tap-tempo, which is more of a personal preference, because I change tempo a lot during my performances and it gets tiring having to hit the floor every time I need to adjust the tempo. Aside from this tiny detail, you will not be disappointed with the rest of the features. It's built like a tank, and sounds like a dream.

I'd wanted a delay effect for ages, but could never justify the price compared to how much (or little) i play these days. Luckily, Christmas was good to me and I ended up with some leftover cash and I pulled the trigger. Now I feel like I'm that much closer to achieving the perfect tone. This pedal is well-built, makes pretty sounds, and costs way less than other options. If you're like me and have been eyeing a delay effect, I think you won't be disappointed.
A simple delay effect, but a lovely one. Simple to operate and works perfectly. Only downside is that the battery compartment is held in by screws, so you need a power supply, or else you'll be scrambling for a screwdriver when the battery gets low and the pedal starts making crazy space noises. Not that I've had that happen or anything.
Solidly built, looks like it would hold up to abuse. The knobs are easy to turn - sometimes a little too easy compared to other pedals. But since it's a delay and little adjustments are sometimes necessary (especially without a tap tempo feature) it ends up being a plus. And the effect is very pretty sounding; it's exactly the effect I was looking for to play U2/Coldplay/Death Cab - style stuff.
For such a rich-sounding analog delay tone, you can't beat this price.

I would pay twice as much for this pedal after hearing it! Don't tell M.F. that---LOL. Works good on all my acoustics. No cheap ones either. Gibsons, Guilds, 2 Eastmans and a Boucher.I'm sure it will work just as well for electrics too! Hey Visual Sound--make the case better, we will pay more.
This pedal is pretty straight forward. No whistles and bells, just delay. No modulation, dotted eighths, wet/dry ect. Delay time, repeats and level. If you need more shell out about another hundred dollars. Although it's not totally analog, it has a warm analog tone and feel to it. Sits well in the mix and works with the other pedals on my board. Would like it in a more traditional stomp box enclosure, this is sheet metal, but I am very careful with my gear and it's mounted on a PedalTrain board so what could happen??
I give it a 7 cause I just got it two days ago. I think it will last cause as I said, I take good care of my gear. If it gives up the ghost next week it's got a warranty and we're talking 70 bucks.
Don't know how they can make this thing for 70 dollars but it kicks the butt of a Keeley modded Boss DD-3. Was getting a lot of digital noise and distortion thru my Fishman performer amp and my acoustic guitars. Checked the batteries, cords all the normal stuff. Figured it had to be the delay. Heard good things about people switching from Boss to Visual Sound gear and boy were they right.No more Boss pedals on my board!

I own almost the entire collection of Visual Sound pedals and I use to be a big Boss fan for most of my life. Visual Sound has versatility and they are solid reliable and well constructed pedals. This one is my absolute favorite, cannot do without pedal. I guarantee you happiness. We aren't even talking price yet, the price is unbeatable for what you're receiving.

This is a great sounding pedal. It is not true analog it is a hybrid of analog and digital technology. That being said it does have a great analog sound and is at least half the price of most analog delays. I gave it a 4.0 on quality because although it does have a metal case it is sheet metal. It will definately hold up better than a plastic case but maybe not as well as some other metal cased pedals. It really is a great pedal for the money.
