First of all,Looks Great! For the price it's fine.Keep within it's context of a small prctice amp don't complain about not loud enough to play in a band(Kids). But,if you lineout into a mixer it works! Keep the amps gain and volume to a minimum and tweek off the mixer, good clean sound.Sort of like a DI out plugged halfway into headphone out.Light weight, basic but real nice to use, people are shocked to see this used at a small gig. Also makes a great guitar amp! For the money and using it within it limits it's just great.Looks like a baby AC30! Needs an external speaker out.

I don't know what Vox were thinking when they released this amp - it misses the mark as a bass amp in every way.
This Vox amp looks great , and sounds terrible. it is virtually impossible to get a clean tone OR any bass out of this amp. It is even open back - not right for a bass amp. Just a box even with the harsh Drive control all the way down. With it up or the slightest amount of volume , it distorts harshly and noisly . It even sounds bad for guitar. Vox used to do some great small bass amps-but this one is a mistake from the beginning. Don't buy -you will be disappointed!
Well built-but sounds bad.
There are REAL small bass amps out there. Not this one though...

dont buy!you will be disappointed!

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

good amp for headphone playing but if you want to play without headphones there isnt almost any bass and if you turn the volume up the amplifier will make the sound "farty" + the drive is horrible...
and if you wanna play from the speakers you will hear all clanks what your bass makes when you play it...

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

If all you're looking for is an amp that will allow you to hear what you're playing in a practice situation, then this will do. If you're looking for an amp that will actually give you a good sound while you're practicing, then you're better off looking somewhere else. I would recommend the Ampeg BA-108, personally. Costs the same and sounds much, much better. (It can also reach louder volumes if you need it.)

Good amp

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

It's a pretty good amp, especially for the price. It's not a gig amp, but very good for practice. It gets even louder than I tought. Obviously the sound gets a little bit dirty as you turn the volume up, as it is expected. I like it that it comes with a drive, even though its not such a good one. You can't really tell when you're playing at home.I would buy it again!

Not sure if this even was working

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

To be honest I'm not sure if this even came in working condition. The volume was so low that I could hear the plucking of my bass strings on my actual bass guitar over the so-called amplification. If I turned up the drive knob even a little bit it sounded "farty" instead of over-driven. Even for a practice amp, this thing has to actually be loud enough and have a decent enough tone to enjoy playing. It really sounded like it was broken, so that might have been the problem. I would wait to read some more reviews before giving this a shot.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

This really is a great practice amp for the money. I could not be happier with it. Good power, and it is a quality item, GREAT sound. Looks and feels like VOX amps of the 60s, when they were the best in the world. Get it, you will not regret it.

Comments about Vox Pathfinder 10W Bass Combo Amp:

As a portable practice amp, it suffices. I think it sounds too thin, really have to turn up the bass. Once you thicken it up a little it'll get a motown-ish sound. Plugged into a recording platform, it sounds very thumpy, turn up the gain it's pretty good for garage rock tones. WHAT I LOVE this amp for is as a double duty amp, as I think it sounds better as a guitar amp (or harp), especially with a cigar box guitar! So if you're a guitarist looking for a bass amp, this might be a fun option.

The amp is meant for a guitarist to use a 6 string guitar! It's too small for a bass guitar! Sound should be perfect with a 6 string guitar!
