Clear and solid bass sound thanks to 96kHz sampling.

The sonic frequencies generated by an electric bass are about 40 to 600Hz, but harmonics go all the way up to the ultrasonic frequency range. The Zoom B1x offers ultra-high resolution signal processing with 24-bit/96 kHz sampling, rivaling the best rackmount processors. The dynamic, wide-range bass signal retains its full impact resulting in clear, powerful tone that retains a distinct presence.

ZFX-3 — the new-generation 32-bit DSP
The heart of any multi-effect device is its processor and decoder section. Zoom elevates performance to the next level with its newly developed ZFX-3 chip. Its 32-bit architecture means outstanding performance and smooth, detailed signal processing. Fine nuances of fingering and touch come through without any deterioration.

13 different amp/stomp box modeling choices
Whether you want the massive sonic push of an all-tube amp, the sweet and mellow tone of a vintage model for melodic phrasing or the sound of a high-power wide-range modern amp, the choice is yours. There are seven bass amp settings that range from Rock and Pop to Fusion and Jazz. Plus, five unique distortion pedal sounds as well as a tube preamp for adding warmth are also available, letting you create exactly the bass sound that you want. Freely adjust the mix between drive sound and original sound to create deep distortion for real punch.

46 dedicated bass effects
Eight modules designed for bass guitar offer a total of 46 effects. A limiter/compressor lets you control peaks and ensure that levels are matched, while the three-band equalizer makes it easy to taylor your sound further. Auto wah is indispensable for playing that funky sound, and the octaver impressively enhances the low range. A defret effect gives you the special tone of a fretless bass. Detune produces a chorus effect with moderate amounts of modulation. Other studio-class effects include a long delay with settings to 5000 ms and a harmonized pitch shifter.

Expression pedal adds another dimension to your play
The B1X model comes with a built-in expression pedal and a PEDAL ASSIGN key that makes it a snap to select the function operated by the pedal.

Quite satisfied

By Scott Hussey

from New Hampshire

Comments about Zoom B1X Bass Multi-Effects Pedal:

The seemingly haphazard placement of the effects means a lot of clicks to jump from where you are to where you want to go. This was easily remedied by reprogramming my favorite voicings onto 4 consecutive channels.
The interface is not very intuitive. But a quick read-through of the instruction manual helped immensely. The range of effects is impressive, but It would be helpful if similar voicings were grouped logically. For instance, having a batch of clean country sounds in one bank, a group of punchy funk sounds in another bank, etc.
The plastic housing feels a bit cheap. I'm not convinced that this unit will be able to survive several years of use (like my trusty old Bosch pedals). The foot buttons seem rugged though and the foot pedal assembly seems to be fairly sturdy.
I definitely feel like I got more than I paid for.

A staple in my Rig.

By Cory Ward

Comments about Zoom B1X Bass Multi-Effects Pedal:

This is my best friend in my rig. First thing in my chain. Only thing I would change would be the USB connectivity, BUT I'm probably buying a BX2 For my studio space, Because I could not replace the BX1 in my rig without feeling guilty. Try it, It will become a good friend if not your best.
The ONLY reason I didn't rate this a ten for Features is because it was missing USB capabilities. Thankfully, this was covered in the BX2. This little red box is a powerful tool for the bassist. So many different sound possibilities and for someone on a budget, can practically become a rig. For the starting bassist or veterans of the bass, It is a tool that I would suggest to everyone.
Even though it's made of plastic, which I, like many others, was hesitant to buy it. Let's say if I was to go back in time, I would buy it again and again. It is a durable pedal, Coming from a guy that stomps like Godzilla. The plastic is strong, everything still works like new and i've been playing on it faithfully for the last year and a half.
I bought mine for cheap, and considering how many different effects and parameters you can tweak, compared to buying pedals at $60+ a pop, Why wouldn't you buy it?
