OVERVIEW

80 popular guitar effects and 65 built-in rhythm accompaniment patterns, plus an expression pedal.

Zoom's G1Xon offers 80 guitar effects, including a variety of distortion, compression, modulation, delay, reverb and amp models. The G1Xon offers an additional five pedal-controlled effects.

Up to five effects can be used simultaneously, chained together any way you like. In addition, there are 68 built-in rhythm accompaniment patterns, and you can connect headphones to the output jack (as well as portable music players to the auxiliary input jack) for silent practice sessions. There's an onboard chromatic tuner that supports all standard guitar tunings, including open and drop tunings, and a Looper feature that enables you to record up to 30 seconds of CD-quality audio. Loop length can be set either manually or to a preset number of quarter notes (up to 64 beats), and you can loop to any rhythm pattern, with automatic quantization that ensures seamless start and end times. Programming is simple and straightforward, thanks to a streamlined user interface and the large backlit LCD screen.

Advanced features such as Copy and Swap make it easy to organize your patches for live performance. An Auto Save function ensures that your edits are stored automatically, and a Pre Select feature allows you to scroll through patches silently while keeping the current patch operational.

Dozens of different ways to make you a guitar hero
Dynamics / Filter
Eleven different ways to shape and control your sound with compressors, noise gates, filters, equalizers and wah effects. Emulate the classic tone of the MXR Dynacomp, dbx 160, Moog Filter or Z. Vex Seek-Wah, or create all-new effects using the automatic Slow Attack, parametric equalizer or six-band graphic EQ. Or choose Zoom's unique Noise Reduction (ZNR) algorithm, designed to remove noise during pauses while still maintaining your guitar's natural tone.

Overdrive / Distortion
Twelve exceptional boosters, overdrives, fuzzes and lead guitar sounds, including simulations of the BOSS OD-1, MXR Distortion+, Marshall Guv'nor, Fuzz Face, Big Muff and Pro Co Rat. Our ExtremeDS effect offers the most powerful gain of any distortion effect in the world, and there's also a simulator that allows your electric guitar to sound like an acoustic.

Amp
Twenty-two of ultrarealistic models, including simulations of classic tube and solid state amps from manufacturers like Fender, Marshall, VOX, Hiwatt, Mesa Boogie, Orange, Bogner, Matchless and Diezel. The amp sounds are so lifelike, you'll swear on a stack of speaker cabinets you're listening to the real thing.

Modulation / Special Effects
Round out your sound with your choice of sixteen phasers and flangers, plus chorus, pitch shift, tremolo and vibrato. Included are emulations of the ADA Flanger, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus and TC Electronic Corona Chorus, as well as the Zoom HPS, an intelligent harmonizer that plays along in key, and a ring modulator that adds bell-like tones to your guitar. And when you're ready to go after some truly off-the-wall sounds, try out the endlessly rhythmic Slicer.

Delay / Reverb
Fourteen delays and natural-sounding reverbs, including rooms, halls, plates, springs, and tape delay simulators, all designed to add depth and spaciousness to your sound, with delay times of up to four seconds. You'll even find reverse delays, modulated reverbs and particle reverbs here-everything you need to place your guitar in a realistic space ¦ or a totally unearthly one.

Expression Pedal
The G1Xon adds an expression pedal to the two main pedals, allowing you to alter any selected parameter in real time. You can use it for gain drive or volume (affecting either input or output level), to add wah or filtering, to affect delay time or modulation speed, or a variety of other parameters. In addition, the pedal range can be independently adjusted for every patch-you can even set the minimum value higher than the maximum value for reverse pedaling effects.

There's also a simple calibration procedure which enables you to customize pedal sensitivity. Whether you're a featherlight player or a real leadfoot, the G1Xon can adapt to your particular pedaling style.

This is the best multi fx unit and most functional for its size. The amps and fx are the same as the G3. The many fx are stereo and for recording stereo is the way to go. The Twin amp SIM is really lively when pumping up the gain knob. Zoom calls their very own tube emulation a Sigmoid Curve Clipper and IMO it is a very natural sounding gain without distortion control something that really cannot be controlled by any tube amp I ever used or heard of. My favorite amps are the Diezel, Big Drive Mesa SIM, the Vox Jimi with cranking gain , the Twin and Deluxe. The Metal World distortion SIM. The reverb are the best collection of reverbs in any unit I have ever tried, and many are true stereo. The Stereo Chorus is one of the best ever and the Stereo Delay is top quality. This is a pro sounding pedal and it is no joke. I love getting pro sound from inexpensive gear and this is the best sound for the money ever. Also, it is a sturdy pedal and I love the color and style, totally purposefully 80s. It is not like older lightweight pedals of yesteryear. This is the biggest secret weapon out there. I actually use one on the floor to run my own vocal fx that are sent from my onstage mini mixer fx send and return. They sound tremendous. I always have musician friends copying what I am doing and some other guys trying to impress a few fellow musicians with all their expensive gear do not always have the best sound because they believe expensive gear us the answer, but it is not. Trust me when I tell the audience knows nothing about gear but they do have ears and a lot of people have a good feel for good sound. Please let Zoom know how much you love this pedal and maybe they will make more like it.

does everything they claim and has a large variety of effects that are infinitely variable to suit your tastes. the looper is limited but does well for short phrases. most of the effects are overdrives or variations of dleay/reverb. I probably won't use a lot of the presets but metal heads and others will love some of these sounds.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

I've been using multi effects for my electric guitar tone for over 15 years. Digitech, Zoom, Line 6 and Korg. This might be the best of the bunch. I sold a POD HD500X to buy this since the POD was overkill for my live tones. I needed about 20 tones but they had to be excellent and respond well to my touch. I recorded my first show with it and am amazed! I only wish I could switch the wah wah effect on and off with my toe pressure. For this price? JUST BUY IT!!

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

I will be using this pedal for contemporary services at church. This pedal can replace an entire pedal board! It has amp modelling, delay, reverb, overdrive... everything you need. You can set up your sounds ahead of time and then save them in consecutive slots for easy switching. Left and right pedals will switch between saved patches, and the pedal on the right I use as a volume pedal. To make adjustments, you have to go through some menus, so it's not easy to adjust on the fly, but if you preprogram what you need, it sounds great!

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

I read much about this because I was looking for a pedal my guitarist in the church band could use where we'd get great sound and flexibility. Heard that it was not heavy-duty because of the material - NOT TRUE. It is plenty strong to be toted from place to place without any concern. My guitarist had a huge smile on his face after spending a week with it - had great sounds all set up and went from song to song without any trouble. I normally use a larger unit that allows direct access to sounds, but with only a small amount of planning - this pedal accomplishes that well. Plus - if you don't normally use a volume pedal, you are missing an important tool and this pedal gives it to you. Great value - you will not regret the money spent.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi-Effects Pedal:

I got this product for christmas this year and have taken some time to learn my way around the pedal completely and let me say, It's good, It really is... For the right player. IF you expect to gig with this let me tell you now. You can gig with it, But to switch between the rhythm and looper section, and some other things, you have to press the tiny little buttons, and tho only way to really do that is to bend over, or crouch if you have it on the floor (I own the GX1on model, so i use the way pedal and other things, so i need it on the floor.) to access the buttons, and if you need to make a quick switch it is almost impossible to do this with your feet. But where I am, I am 13 and have started playing 2 years ago, so as of now I am not gigging, and this pedal serves my purpose well, so to the right player, this pedal is a home run.

I have other Zoom pedals and recorders and they all work great for 12 years old. This is the first new multi pedal I've bought and it has some nice sounds and easy to use. I've retired my Boss GT-8 and use this now.
