OVERVIEW

80 popular guitar effects and 65 built-in rhythm accompaniment patterns, plus an expression pedal.

Zoom's G1Xon offers 80 guitar effects, including a variety of distortion, compression, modulation, delay, reverb and amp models. The G1Xon offers an additional 5 pedal-controlled effects.

Up to 5 effects can be used simultaneously, chained together any way you like. In addition, there are 68 built-in rhythm accompaniment patterns, and you can connect headphones to the output jack (as well as portable music players to the auxiliary input jack) for silent practice sessions. There's an onboard chromatic tuner that supports all standard guitar tunings, including open and drop tunings, and a Looper feature that enables you to record up to 30 seconds of CD-quality audio. Loop length can be set either manually or to a preset number of quarter notes (up to 64 beats), and you can loop to any rhythm pattern, with automatic quantization that ensures seamless start and end times. Programming is simple and straightforward, thanks to a streamlined user interface and the large backlit LCD screen.

Advanced features such as Copy and Swap make it easy to organize your patches for live performance. An Auto Save function ensures that your edits are stored automatically, and a Pre Select feature allows you to scroll through patches silently while keeping the current patch operational.

Dozens of different ways to make you a guitar hero
Dynamics / Filter
Eleven different ways to shape and control your sound with compressors, noise gates, filters, equalizers and wah effects. Emulate the classic tone of the MXR Dynacomp, dbx 160, Moog Filter or Z. Vex Seek-Wah, or create all-new effects using the automatic Slow Attack, parametric equalizer or six-band graphic EQ. Or choose Zoom's unique Noise Reduction (ZNR) algorithm, designed to remove noise during pauses while still maintaining your guitar's natural tone.

Overdrive / Distortion
Twelve exceptional boosters, overdrives, fuzzes and lead guitar sounds, including simulations of the BOSS OD-1, MXR Distortion+, Marshall Guv'nor, Fuzz Face, Big Muff and Pro Co Rat. Our ExtremeDS effect offers the most powerful gain of any distortion effect in the world, and there's also a simulator that allows your electric guitar to sound like an acoustic.

Amp
Twenty-two of ultrarealistic models, including simulations of classic tube and solid state amps from manufacturers like Fender, Marshall, Vox, Hiwatt, Mesa Boogie, Orange, Bogner, Matchless and Diezel. The amp sounds are so lifelike, you'll swear on a stack of speaker cabinets you're listening to the real thing.

Modulation / Special Effects
Round out your sound with your choice of sixteen phasers and flangers, plus chorus, pitch shift, tremolo and vibrato. Included are emulations of the ADA Flanger, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus and TC Electronic Corona Chorus, as well as the Zoom HPS, an intelligent harmonizer that plays along in key, and a ring modulator that adds bell-like tones to your guitar. And when you're ready to go after some truly off-the-wall sounds, try out the endlessly rhythmic Slicer.

Delay / Reverb
Fourteen delays and natural-sounding reverbs, including rooms, halls, plates, springs, and tape delay simulators, all designed to add depth and spaciousness to your sound, with delay times of up to four seconds. You'll even find reverse delays, modulated reverbs and particle reverbs here-everything you need to place your guitar in a realistic space … or a totally unearthly one.

Expression Pedal
The G1Xon adds an expression pedal to the two main pedals, allowing you to alter any selected parameter in real time. You can use it for gain drive or volume (affecting either input or output level), to add wah or filtering, to affect delay time or modulation speed, or a variety of other parameters. In addition, the pedal range can be independently adjusted for every patch-you can even set the minimum value higher than the maximum value for reverse pedaling effects.

There's also a simple calibration procedure which enables you to customize pedal sensitivity. Whether you're a featherlight player or a real leadfoot, the G1Xon can adapt to your particular pedaling style.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Overall this is a good little pedal. I'm using it in my portable rig for street gigs. It has great battery life and decent sounds. I'm running a Roland Keytar into the aux input for some synth tones and running my Strat in the guitar input. I take the output of the Zoom pedal into my looper (Roland RC 3) and run that into a Roland KC110 keybard amp along with a mic into the mic channel of the amp. I play a lot of areas that don't have power, so battery life is a useful thing. This setup sounds decent for small stuff and practice. The pedal is one of the easiest to use for creating your own patches I've seen. Very intuitive interface, easy to understand. I'm overall very pleased with the pedal and recommend it. 4 stars.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Great value ! Feature packed !

I got the G1xon to add modulation effects (phaser, flanger, etc),looper, wah-wah capability to my rig.

Some of the tones out of the box sounded tinny to my ears, but after tweaking around with tone adjustments, I got the tone I wanted.

It took me a few days to learn to use the user interface, hut its now so easy to understand and use..lol

Another plus is the drum rhythm feature which I've been using more and more .also, I use it for a metronome.

It particulary doesn't sound good with distortion pedals in front or behind it, so I pretty much only use the G1xon distortion effects built-in to the unit.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I have owned a lot of multi-effects pedals. I usually go with Boss or digitech but I wanted to try something different. Can't beat the price and has amazing effects. What I would say is the best part of this pedal is how easy it is to use! The only con is not being able to switch between the looper and effects by using the foot switches. But that is a minor issue. Ton of fun to play around with and has great built in drum kits.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Got this baby as a christmas gift, by the way this is my first pedal so i don't have much experience with pedals, to the guys who were saying that you can't turn off the expression pedal well you can but you'll have to put something like a rubber under the expression pedal, if you look in direction of the jacks input output etc, you'll see a little button, that button is supposed to turn off expression pedals on chain, but because of layziness or forgotten designers when you put the pedal down it won't touch that button. Aside from that and no software support for pc (hope they can make it) it's a great pedal for the price.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Just arrived in the mail, the other day.I am very impressed with the ease of use,in this pedal.Has a lot of useful effects',although some of the high-gain settings',generate some noise. You would get that with a pedal-board of "discrete" pedals',also! The sounds' are incredible and there are a lot of very useful settings'.I am using this through headphones' and can not say what it would sound like through an amp.It does' sound awesome, through head phones'!!!Has a really nice "David Gilmour"setting!Has a lot of heavy metal, guitar sounds',which really cut.The "expression-pedal"is well-worth the extra-money,for wah-wah and filter, effects',plus volume control. The "Looping" feature is a bit tricky, but a lot of fun.Has a cool "Bass Guitar" emulation and a lot of smooth,"Bluesy",lead sounds'.This thing makes' my Epiphone SG,come to life, even with the dark pick-ups',this pedal, brings' out the treble.I did record one loop on my D1600 and it came out sounding very good.Even recording into a stereo recorder, with a looped bass and rhythm guitar riff, sounded good, along with the internal drums'.kinda like "ACDC",in a box!I have not tried to manipulate the sounds' yet,but it looks' fairly, straightforward to do.You can put the effects',in the order that you want them, which is really nice.Battery life,is good, also. For the money this is one of the funnest pedals',out there.I have probably,5-"fuzz pedals" and a couple of "multi-processor" pedals' and this one stands' up to the best of them,sound-wise and ease of use.I hope this is of some help to you,if you are looking for a good, really fun pedal.Cheerz! : )

There are no open presets. In other words, if u overwrite a preset, u lose the factory preset for good, unless u factory reset the system. Woild better better if there were some open presets to save custom settings without losing the predetermined factory preset. Otherwise, its a great system for home studio use and small venues.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

Great choice of effects. Effects sound great. You can arrange the effects in any order that you want. You can set the effects parameters anyway you want.
The harmonizer alone is worth it.
The distortions are pretty good for solid state.
The wah sounds great and the built in pedal works good.
Nice to have the tuner built into the unit as well. Haven't tried the looper yet. Looking forward to trying the looper so I solo to my own riffs.
I have a drum machine I really like so I have not used the drum tracks on it either.
Great unit for practice with an amp or headphones. I use it with a little 15 watt practice amp and with headphones.
Probably too noisy for serious studio use. The ZNR noise reduction works pretty good.
Wouldn't be bad on stage if it sounds good loud. Have not tried it loud yet.
Maybe too hard to switch between effects banks to use on stage.
Unit appears at first to be complicated to use but it really makes a lot of sense the way it works. Its nice the way you add, remove and set the parameters of the effects. Its really very easy to use and common sense.
I have owned a lot of zoom units like this one in the past. They all had plastic casing. They all continue to work well after years of ownership but I was not very hard on them.
This unit is a big improvement on the older zoom units. It has a bigger choice of effects. The option to arrange the effects in any order you want and set the parameters of the effects in any order you want is great.
Great unit for the price range. I am very happy with it.

Comments about Zoom G1Xon Guitar Multi Effects Pedal:

I run this into my Line 6 spider 4/15, I also got from MF. I put the amp on clean and the effects are clear. I especially like the ZNR noise reduction, added it to some patches and it killed all the noise I was getting from my tv, computer, etc. This zoom unit was a lot easier to learn than I thought. I play blues and the addition of the Wah effect with the adjustable pedal makes the type of sound I was looking for.

I have no other effect pedals, and I don't plan to buy any. Someone mentioned they don't like that it is always on. However you can assign a patch to be a bypass, [by eliminating the other effects], put it next to the effect patch you are using, and problem solved.

I am not a pro musician, but I am a practical person with common sense. This is the best purchase I have made since I bought the guitar.
