I've been using this strap since the mid-90's, practicing, rehearsing and gigging up to 5 nights a week. I purchased the first one because my 11-1/2 pound bass guitar on the 2" wide strap was KILLING my shoulder. And at 6'1" and over 220lbs, I'm a big, tough guy! As far as the pad floating down the inside, which a few people have complained about and I battled with in the beginning, I adjusted mine to a comfortable position, tacked the pad in place with a couple of stitches from a needle and thread, and YOWZA! No more problem. It takes a bit of work on your part, but the results are phenomenal. The Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap, in my experience, is comfortable, well made, and almost indestructible. I had an inferior strap come off my Jazz Bass during a gig many years ago, but that has NEVER been an issue with the Planet Waves strap, mainly, I believe, due to the thick, stiff leather ends. Get yourself one of these straps and install strap locks on your guitars, tack the pad in a comfortable position so it doesn't move while you bop your top and you'll be STYLIN' for many moons to come!

This strap had great reviews and the price was right. I only saw 1 negative review, which to me says it's probable that individual.

For me the strap is too big, I an average size guy and wear by bass fairly low. There are 2 adjustments, front and rear. The front adjustment, plastic peace, sits right at my shoulder making uncomfortable.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

Not as comfortable or nice as much more expensive straps, such as my Levy's 3" leather but definitely beats anything costing always twice its price. In my opinion a very functional and somewhat comfy strap for very little cash. I have two of these now and would recommend to anyone not wanting to spend too much on good straps.

As noted by another reviewer, the style has been changing over time.

I just bought another one. The strap is still high quality, fits well, stays put, eases the load, and is durable.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

I am about 5'11" and on the slender side (I know this is not a dating website). I mention this because if you are about my build and like your bass about belt high, do not buy this strap. It has a buckle on both sides of the foam shoulder center. No matter how you adjust it, the buckle sits on top of your shoulder and digs in. The foam lays uselessly on your back. I tried in on a P-Bass, a J-Bass, a Ric and even a Carvin bass. I had to send the strap back. If you're really tall or wear your bass down at the knees you're in luck!

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

The strap they send you these days is not the strap shown in the photos. Since around December 2014, this strap has been shortened about 8" and no longer has the nice stitched-on logo with pick holder and yellow pick shown in the photos. The price is lower, but so is the functionality if you need a longer strap. I'm only 5'-10" and play my bass "rock style" at my hip, but not extremely low. The older straps with the pickholder logo were 59" long (from button hole to button hole) and more useable by people with my height (or taller) and playing style. The more recent straps are only around 51" long, so if you're tall and wear your bass lower than the middle of your stomach, you won't be happy with the current strap. I'd rather they bring the price back up and give us back the longer "logo" strap shown in the photos. I'd also rather MF stop using the incorrect previous photos, and tell us how long the strap is in the ad. It's frustrating when you don't receive what they advertise.

I use these straps for my Strat and LP Standard. Both are fairly heavy feeling after a couple of hours but this is the best feeling strap that I have come across. They seem to last forever, I have not had one fail yet.

This is a good quality wide guitar strap. I put it on my favorite rock (Cort explorer.) It lasted a session and it is still on the Cort, so the first run was good! There are NO markings or logos on it, as noted by another reviewer.

I got this strap and it holds the guitar in place just fine. I hate that there is an adjustment buckle on both ends of the strap. I am 5'8" so I have to tighten it all the way up which puts one of the adjustment buckles right on my neck. I have cut the strap and will re-sew the strap together without a front buckle. It seems like a good strap, I just hate the front adjustment buckle.

Comments about D'Addario Planet Waves Polypropylene Bass Guitar Strap:

I now own three of these straps, one for each of my basses. Two were bought in local music stores, and one was recently bought from Musician's Friend. The strap I received from Musicians Friend does not have the Planet Waves logo and seems to be several inches shorter than my other two. The holes cut for strap buttons also seem to be smaller; I had to enlarge them slightly so they would fit normal size strap buttons. The shipping manifest lists it as the same product though, so I'm not sure what is going on.

That aside, these straps are awesome for bass. The padding and width really help, although it can take some adjustment to make use of the padded section. They aren't the longest straps, but they get the job done and make things easier on your shoulder.
