I started out playing bass on this instrument and it is incredible! I recently purchased an older Squier p bass but i do still play this one because it's actually my sister's is still in the jam room.Sounds great through any amp and the finish is amazing.Only downside is it's kinda heavy which can cause a sore shoulder after an hour or so of playing but don't let that discourage you from picking it up.
I own the fret less version of this bass and it is absolutely amazing. The bass has great tone quality and is very comfortable to play. The bass is a bit smaller then most electric basses which has both positive and negative effects depending on preference especially with a fret less. The pick ups are pretty good quality especially for the price. I also personally like the battery powered pick ups.
this is the first bass i have owned i have played on alot but i finally got this one it is amazing better than anything i have played and i have played from washburn to peavey the transparent amber i beautiful its sounds great great value save yourself the trouble if your on a budget get this one
Most excellent bass for the price. I'm still using the original strings on this puppy. Buy the Dean hard case if you get one, it's longggg. Sounds as good as any other bass I've been around, but I've tricked it out with Ampeg and goodies. From my score, you know I like it.
My edge 4 is fretless and came stock with emg p/ups. Very smooth to play and comfortable. Feels like a more expensive bass. Versatile tone, even w/half-wounds. Complaints: noisy pots, too much play in the tuners..small stuff!Great bass.
Awesome bass... great tone... you can play it for just about any genre. I have no complaints. Beginner or master: buy this bass.
This bass is amazing, it's not the best dean out there but it's perfect for the money. Go buy it
For an inexpensive bass, this is worth looking at. The neck is fast and action good. You can't go wrong for the price.
I am extremely impressed by this bass. It is remarkably well-built for its entry-level price, and the translucent black finish is smooth as glass! The body is light weight and well balanced, and the active electronics and two octave fretboard help to produce a wide range of tones. I've been playing bass for over 25 years, and I've owned some nice ones. I highly recommend the Dean Edge 4 - novice or professional, you owe it to yourself to at LEAST give one a test-drive!
I had this bass for many years. I loved it! Playability was excellent. I have short fat fingers and the small neck was perfect. Not to mention that the bass was easy to fret through the entire range. Sound was excellent! I wish I didn't sell it...but I'm haven't played in years so she had to go...I miss her.
