Attractive woods and active electronics makes this a solid choice.

This beautiful 6-string ESP bass has a mahogany body with a flamed maple top that is left au natural giving it an elegant light wood tone. If it weren't for the two walnut stripes of walnut and the slightly paler maple of the 5-piece neck-thru design you'd almost swear the body of the B-1006 bass guitar was all cut from the same wood. While the guitar doesn't have much frills other than beveled edges, graceful woodgrain lines, subtle dot inlays, and black hardware in the aesthetic department, it more than makes up for it in its electronics. Helping you get the most tone out of this stunning axe are an EMG 45-TW bridge pickup with a push-pull coil tap on volume knob, EMG 45P-6 active neck pickup, and an EMG B64 3-band active EQ. The thin "U" neck contour and double cutaway design on this 34" scale B-1006 bass makes it easy to access all 6 strings and 24 XJ frets while a Hipshot bridge and Hipshot tuners help keep your strings in position and tune no matter how hard you're digging.

    Great Potential

Comments about ESP LTD B-1006 6-String Bass Guitar:

This could have been a great bass. ESP did a good job installing great hardware and electronic components to the bass. Real US made EMG pickups were used. Hipshot licensed tuners worked well. The sound is good, though the onboard preamp was annoyingly weak. I found the bass lacking much bottom, thus sounding rather understated. The neck was comfortable for a six string bass. The strings were well setup. However, the bass in the picture and the one I received were significantly different. The one I took out of the box was very plain looking.

    More than I ever expected!!

Comments about ESP LTD B-1006 6-String Bass Guitar:

Wow, did I hit the jackpot with this bass. It was already on sale and I bought it on Black Friday and stole this thing for an amazing price! That's not the best part. The best part is how incredibly sweet this bass is. It is absolutely stunning in looks, feel, playability and sound! This thing sounds like a piano on a stick. The neck is beautifully shaped and flat, the active EMG's really give this bass an amazing rich tone. Speaking of tone, you can make this thing punchy and bright to dark and mellow. Tons of tonal variations. This has got to be the best bass I have ever purchased for the money. Don't get me wrong, I've owned Pedulla's, Yamaha's, Ibanez, Warwick and played many others. This bass sounds as good as all of them, hands down! Do not hesitate to buy this bass. I've been playing professionally for almost 30 years and I know a great piece of work when I play it and hear it. This is it folks. Buy one, you won't be disappointed!
