white finish, single p bass style pickup, volume and tone. simple but solid. all you need. bought as used- a few nicks and bumps but not bad. set up fine, needed a little adjusting of the bridge for intonation and off we go! Nice 5 string bass for the $. this is the 6th 5 string bass i have owned and i would put it over the washburn and ibanez i had in the past.

After reading all of the great reviews for this bass, I was stoked to order it. Item showed up a few days later and overall, I am pretty happy with it.

The craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired though. I could still see some marker where the neck meets the body for where they marked the piece of wood to be cut. I probably can polish that off though. That same area also isn't flush with the neck. There were also a few darker marks up by the tuners on the headstock that may have been made when they set the guitar up.

All in all I rated this 3 stars for good but not great. There is also a smidge of white paint on the edge of the lower fretboard. I am primarily a guitar player and got this for recording purposes so the few cosmetic issues I mentioned aren't that big of a deal to me. This one was only around 200 but I've seen cheaper guitars better made :/ Maybe its different for basses?

Tone sounds pretty good and cuts through the mix quite easily! Lighter weight bass and comes with gigbag. BOTTOM LINE: Don't expect this item to be made perfectly, but do expect good tone.

***I have been playing for 10 years and have my bachelors degree in audio production/electronic media.

Comments about ESP LTD B-15 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I wanted so desperately to give this bass 5 stars. But when I got it the volume and tone controls were installed crooked and I had to adjust the knobs just so they wouldn't rub on the finish. It needed to be set up,the neck had a reverse curve in it and it cost me twenty at my local music store to have it set up. Really bummed me out because it was 100% unplayable out of the box. I had to take my savings and throw it in to getting it set up. Now that it is set up it is a pleasure to play.

Comments about ESP LTD B-15 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

For the price, the Bass is a killer, however the "P" type pickups overlap, and the middle "A" string crosses both. This makes it considerably louder than the other 4 strings. It has cost me to have the bass modified to overcome this issue.
Apart from that it does exactly what it says

Comments about ESP LTD B-15 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

i came on this website looking for a something other than a regular four string bass as i already have a fender jazz bass. i am glad i found this one as it is an excellent bass. i live in western canada and it had a long trip to get here. when i got it it was pretty close to in tune as well. it looks pretty sweet feels and plays nice. i will be using it for recording but i would feel comfortable bringing it on stage as well. my particular bass was condition one so it's close to a bass right from the factory no scratches or anything looks like new. i couldnt be happier. the only thing i didnt like which i wasnt aware of is that since it came from the u.s. and i am in canada i was charged a brokerage fee by ups but that has nothing to do with the bass just a heads up for those like me who did not know.

Comments about ESP LTD B-15 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

A couple of months ago, I purchased this bass because I wanted a five string that was a decent price. I know this sounds stupid but I also wanted a white 5 string so to me this bass seemed like the perfect fit. I ordered it and it came in on my birthday so I was super pumped to play this on my birthday. I noticed it was extremely light, which I liked. So I plugged it right into my amp only to hear nothing coming out. All the knobs where all the way up and everything was set. There was something wrong with the electronics and I had only had it for a day. This was in no way MF's fault. I decided to ask ESP for support and they told me to change the battery on the pickups. The pickups on this bass are passive. So ESP's Customer support was terrible. Although, MF's return policy really helped me out and I bought a squire jazz bass for 200$ after I got a full refund. I know this was probably bad luck on my part with having a broken instrument come in, but I thought I'd give my feedback.

Comments about ESP LTD B-15 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

Before getting this bass, I had a really cheap 4-string Dean bass guitar. The pickup on the Dean is really weak, and there is a slight buzz. The build isn't top notch, and the electronics needed repair/soldering.

Thus when I got this 5-string bass for LESS than my 4-string Dean, I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I surprised. The build quality is way above and beyond the Dean, and the sound is so much better. It actually has a real "punch" and "growl" that the Dean is lacking.

If there is one thing I don't like about this bass is the tone control knob. The knob gives the illusion that the tone gradually changes, but it doesn't. It's either one way or the other. However, the tone either way is so good, it really doesn't bother me.

Having an extra lower B string really makes a difference. With this string you can play a lower C and especially a lower D! D can finally played in octaves without going too high. The only drawback of course to a 5-string is getting used to finding the right string among 5 instead of 4. Also the fact that the strings are closer to each other, but it's just a matter of getting used to it.

If you need a 5-string bass to your collection, this is definitely the one to get. With a good sale on Musician's friend, you can get this bass for about 1.6 Benjamins...an awesome value.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Awesome. I was looking for a cheap backup bass and stumble upon this one. After reading the reviews, with this price, I went for it and I'm very glad I did. Like the other reviews said, great sound and action for such a low price. Excellent product, if I ever decide to replace my main bass I will be looking at other ESP products for sure. Thanks ESP and thanks to those who convinced me to buy it.

Comments about ESP LTD B-15 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I am primarily a guitarist and picked this up for strictly recording purposes. Very happy with it so far(one month). Have used it to add bass to a few tracks and it sounds great through my Line 6 pod Farm presets. I cannot attest to playing out with it in live venues or through bass amps however. As for playability, it came setup perfectly from MF, intonation spot on and action just right for me (low). Having a blast just playing it unplugged as it has a good acoustic tone and resonates well. Seems very well made, I got the natural brown and it seems like good quality wood, not heavy, not too light and well balanced with the 24 fret neck which I love- smooth feel and frets seem to be finsihed nicely, no buzzing other than to be expected by the low B which is really unavoidable with that low of a note and heavy gauge string. Came with Cleartone strings- nice! One thing to think about- if you are rough with your gear, this type of finish will chip and dent rather easily, not having the clear coat of the white or black finishes to protect the body. My headstock color matches the body which I prefer and was pleasantly surprised to find when I unpacked it. For this price I am VERY happy- it is lots of fun to play and serves my purposes well. Again, I have not gigged with it but I'm pretty confident it would hold up just fine. On the downside, being very picky here- some bassists may want more tonal options than the one pickup provides and the fret inlay at the 12th fret-could live without that- or instead of "B-15" how about ESP or LTD? Other than that, I am loving this bass and hope this helps you decide.
