My friend gave me this bass. He said he got it out of a pawn shop some years ago so who knows what all it's been threw. I imagine it hasn't been played a lot, mainly just set around collecting dust. Well I never gave it much notice, but I just started selling off my bass collection and this bass (being a sentimental gift) is the one bass I can't sell. The tuners are smooth and well built; the bridge is also excellent. it?s all high quality. The neck is amazing-right now mine has a big bow in it but still plays awesome; easily fixable. Frets are bigger then I'm use to (because I'm use to tiny frets) but after I got use to them, they are the perfect size. The fret work is really well done on this thing. I was actually shocked to see it was a beginner bass when I looked it up. Mine has to be at least 10 years old (after looking on their website and such)-but I imagine they've just become better over time. I am going to go get the neck bow fixed and throw some new strings on it and put EMGs in it. At very least this will be my backup bass for all time; if it turns out well, it might be my main bass (until someone builds me a signature hahaha). So, I would highly recommend this bass. The six bolt-on neck, btw, is amazing. I almost like that better then a neck through. Oh, and about the pickups; they are great for a starter bass. I didn't have any problems with them. I've played with 2 soapbar pickups on my Spector-and some P's on my main bass. I LOVE PJ now-really comfortable for me. And the 24 frets is an added bonus. Once again, I would highly recommend this bass (not just for starters).

I had this bass for about 3 years and it was pretty good. But last month a bought a Sansamp Tech 21 and this bass and that pedal freaking conceived a awesome tone. I have 2 other basses (Schecter Damien-5 and Ibanez SR300)and this is still my #1 Bass

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I have had this Bass for over ten years. Played in many metal bands, and this bass never disappointed. Great tone and play-ability, even in extreme drop tuning(adgc, c#f#be) better tonality, and balls than more expensive basses. I play with my fingers, and I also play really aggressive, and it never came out of tune. Actually want to buy another couple, as well as one or two, five-string versions.

It plays well and sounds great! However the picture and description did not match the bass I received. I was promised black hardware and got chrome hardware with a different shaped headstock. Their picture was of an older model B-50 and I got a newer model.

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I bought one of these for my wife to learn, the price was good, and it didn't feel too bad when I played it at the local music store. She plunks around on it now and then, and not too long ago I noticed a bow in the neck and fixed it with the truss rod, and just the other day out of sheer curiosity I took it down when we had band practice. Wow, this bass has a great tone when run through my rig, I'm very impressed with it, the neck is also very slim and quick to play on which is another huge plus for me! So, now I'm bugging my wife to let me use it for our next gig, at least as a backup haha!

a nice metallic souond to the bass, that one can tweak with the controls for the most part
solid construction, quality construction, I wanted a Peavey millinenum XPB bass & settled for this one locally
My only issue is the manner that the neck is attched to the body, other better than expoected
Years ago a guitar like this would have cost hundreds of $$ more

      A Metalheads View

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

As a beginner Bassist I have no complaints, I've been playing this thing since this past November and it's been 6 months now and I'm still jamming hard. I'm primarily a metal bassist with some classic rock on the side but this bass will give you any sound you put it through, weather it be Metallica or Tom Petty ESP has once again outdone itself. My main influences are Cliff Burton (RIP), Tim Commerford, David Ellefson and Rex Brown. The B-50 bass delivers all the punch you need with a smooth 4-string feel and a decent weight. It can handle any and all forms of Metal, Rock ,Blues, etc. Overall this is some of the best two hundred dollars I've ever invested!

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

i bought this bass at my local music store about 5 months ago and i can safely say i couldnt have asked for a better bass. i started learning on a squier starter bass and once i finally picked this one up after an excruciatingly long layaway, i was amazed that a bass, would have such great tone, a fast slick neck, and a really ballanced weight. i would advise this bass for any starter or intermediate player thats looking for a cheap quality bass, overall an amazing product from an amazing company, nothing much more to say.

Very solid bass, good for beginners.

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass about 3 and a half years ago as my first bass. I've played it heavily and not treated it well the whole time. Since buying it I've never gotten the neck/bridge tuned up at all. This bass still plays and sounds very good. At this price it should be considered a very good bass. I still can't find a better value for a beginner. The neck is very thin and smooth and plays overall very well. The knobs are tight and the tuning keys work very well. Get this bass!

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

My back up bass (Primary is a Fender Jazz Deluxe). Plays and shows well.
24 fret board plays nice. Wish there was one volume knob for easy turn down.
Bass is balanced, bridge and fretboard are well made. Very comfortable bass.
Plays like a twice the price bass. Great Sound!

I'm mainly a guitar player and I wanted to start learning how to play bass. I bought an ESP beginner guitar for my son a while back and was very impressed for the price, so I bought this bass for myself. Other than a little fret buzz in the 1-3 range, it plays and sounds fantastic. I'm pretty sure a setup will fix the buzz when I get around to it. I'm a beginning bass player but as a long time guitar player I can tell this is a really great value and a wonderful beginning or intermediate bass.

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

This bass guitar is worth way more than two hundred in my opinion. A common problem with bass guitars is fret buzz. This guitar has zero fret buzz playing open and very minimal when holding down a string. This guitar has a very nice feel and weight. In my opinion it is very light for the size. For those who play Rocksmith, yes this does work with it. I bought a Dean Edge 10 a month ago and had to send it back because it didn't work with Rocksmith for some unknown reason. This bass is definitely worth the price.

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I've had this bass for three years already and its been a good bass for me to learn on through the years. I really wish I'd taken care of it, because now it seems my old friend is dying. The screw on the split pickup popped out and I can't seem to screw it back in. One of my first problems was when the dial for the split pickup fell out randomly. The bass stays in tune very nicely and sounds great for any style. Thing thing can growl as well as give you a nice punchy tone for the split pickups. Definitely a great beginner bass, due to the features and tone options you can get out of it.

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass about 4 months ago and let me tell you, this is the best bass for the money. It has a very wide variety of sound, it's very durable, the weight is very well balanced. On top of that i have never had a single problem with it. in order to get the most out of this bass i recommend a Peavy Amp and Fender Strings(gauge-.105, .85,.75,.50. i believe thats right). All in all it is the best sounding bass.

      great bass for the price

      By ThorazineTone

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

This bass is exactly what I was looking for! It has a very solid full range tone up and down the neck. I think its great for lows, mids, and highs and with a good bass amp or for the recording studio seems to deliver a solid/smooth/even sound. One of my favorite guitars has an Agathis body and to me, this ESP bass delivers the same type of clear sonic sound. I have owned a rickenbacker 4001 and about 18 "nice" guitars and and this bass impressed me!
