My friend gave me this bass. He said he got it out of a pawn shop some years ago so who knows what all it's been threw. I imagine it hasn't been played a lot, mainly just set around collecting dust. Well I never gave it much notice, but I just started selling off my bass collection and this bass (being a sentimental gift) is the one bass I can't sell. The tuners are smooth and well built; the bridge is also excellent. it?s all high quality. The neck is amazing-right now mine has a big bow in it but still plays awesome; easily fixable. Frets are bigger then I'm use to (because I'm use to tiny frets) but after I got use to them, they are the perfect size. The fret work is really well done on this thing. I was actually shocked to see it was a beginner bass when I looked it up. Mine has to be at least 10 years old (after looking on their website and such)-but I imagine they've just become better over time. I am going to go get the neck bow fixed and throw some new strings on it and put EMGs in it. At very least this will be my backup bass for all time; if it turns out well, it might be my main bass (until someone builds me a signature hahaha). So, I would highly recommend this bass. The six bolt-on neck, btw, is amazing. I almost like that better then a neck through. Oh, and about the pickups; they are great for a starter bass. I didn't have any problems with them. I've played with 2 soapbar pickups on my Spector-and some P's on my main bass. I LOVE PJ now-really comfortable for me. And the 24 frets is an added bonus. Once again, I would highly recommend this bass (not just for starters).

This Bass is perfect for my needs. It plays well and sounds great. The only complaint I have is when I read the description it said that it has black hardware. I received a newer B-50 than what the picture showed. With a different shaped headstock and chrome hardware.

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

It plays well and sounds great! However the picture and description did not match the bass I received. I was promised black hardware and got chrome hardware with a different shaped headstock. Their picture was of an older model B-50 and I got a newer model.

a nice metallic souond to the bass, that one can tweak with the controls for the most part
solid construction, quality construction, I wanted a Peavey millinenum XPB bass & settled for this one locally
My only issue is the manner that the neck is attched to the body, other better than expoected
Years ago a guitar like this would have cost hundreds of $$ more

    By Steve Gullotti

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

My back up bass (Primary is a Fender Jazz Deluxe). Plays and shows well.
24 fret board plays nice. Wish there was one volume knob for easy turn down.
Bass is balanced, bridge and fretboard are well made. Very comfortable bass.
Plays like a twice the price bass. Great Sound!

    A Metalheads View

    By Burton'94

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

As a beginner Bassist I have no complaints, I've been playing this thing since this past November and it's been 6 months now and I'm still jamming hard. I'm primarily a metal bassist with some classic rock on the side but this bass will give you any sound you put it through, weather it be Metallica or Tom Petty ESP has once again outdone itself. My main influences are Cliff Burton (RIP), Tim Commerford, David Ellefson and Rex Brown. The B-50 bass delivers all the punch you need with a smooth 4-string feel and a decent weight. It can handle any and all forms of Metal, Rock ,Blues, etc. Overall this is some of the best two hundred dollars I've ever invested!

    Suprised? you bet!

    By Joe Flair

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I bought one of these for my wife to learn, the price was good, and it didn't feel too bad when I played it at the local music store. She plunks around on it now and then, and not too long ago I noticed a bow in the neck and fixed it with the truss rod, and just the other day out of sheer curiosity I took it down when we had band practice. Wow, this bass has a great tone when run through my rig, I'm very impressed with it, the neck is also very slim and quick to play on which is another huge plus for me! So, now I'm bugging my wife to let me use it for our next gig, at least as a backup haha!

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I had this bass for about 3 years and it was pretty good. But last month a bought a Sansamp Tech 21 and this bass and that pedal freaking conceived a awesome tone. I have 2 other basses (Schecter Damien-5 and Ibanez SR300)and this is still my #1 Bass

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

This guitar is worth so much more than what I paid. It is an awesome bass for every reason. When I purchased it I was expecting just a cheap bass that I could beat on, but I was pleasantly surprised by the overall awesomeness and quality of the bass!!

    Great bass, Great price!!!!!

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

This is an great bass for a great price. The first time I picked this baby up, it felt like it was built for my hands. It's tone was very impressive as well. I really was able to capture that Mark Hoppus tone in my pop punk band with the aid of some Ernie Ball Hybrids. I ran it through an Ampeg BA 112. Unfortunately I had to sell this bass, but I plan on buying a new one. The pickups will be replaced with a DiMarzio DP127 Split P and a DiMarzio DP248 J. I'm looking to add a Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver. I feel that I will never need another bass with these additions. The sound should be Overwhelming!!!

    GREAT bass!

    By junglebunny

Comments about ESP LTD B-50 Bass Guitar:

I've had this bass for almost a year now, and I had actually got it from a friend who had got it to custom up a bit and repaint everything, and i needed a new and cheap bass. And as soon as i got some new strings and got the neck adjusted, I fell in love with this bass. It does feel pretty weird finger picking it, but i got kinda used to it. It's great to play in drop tunings too. I actually have it tuned to A right now, and it still sounds beautiful:] It seems like they make them active now, which i'm kinda mad about that >.< But all and all it's a great bass. it's been through a lot with me now, and i'm looking into turning it into a jazz bass. I didn't get the stock pickups, so i can't say if those are any good or not. But definitely look into this bass! No regrets.
