A modern take on a timeless classic!

The new Aerodyne Classic Precision Bass Special bridges the gap between Fender's ultra-progressive Aerodyne body profile and the vintage design of the highly revered, hard-working, and hard-hitting bass that started it all.

The figured maple top with cream binding and choice of eye-catching transparent finishes take the Aerodyne concept to a new style level, while its uniquely radiused body design enhances comfort and maintains the traditional Precision vibe.

        Features

        • Basswood body topped with figured maple
        • C-shaped maple neck with 7.25"-radius
        • 20-fret rosewood fingerboard
        • Body matching headstock
        • 3-ply mint-green pickguard
        • Chrome bridge and tuning machine
        • Split single-coil Precision Bass Pickup in the middle position
        • Single-coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge
        • Polyurethane finish

Wow,I am so glad I got one of these while I could. I am not a Fender fan. I always felt this style was too heavy and bulky. But I do love this bass. This is a great bass for the price and then some. It's well made, sounds and plays great too. The fit and finish and overall quality is excellent. I love the balance and especially the slimmer, contoured body. Having both a jazz and precision pickup gives it flexibility and makes it very versatile; Rock, Soul, Blues, Funk and Jazz all work fine with this bass. Also sound integrity holds up well playing loud, soft and in between. I usually only bring this one bass to a gig now. I have had it over a year and it works great and stays in tune nicely. Everybody else that has played it really likes it as well. Great bass for the bucks and better than most at this price.

The body and neck on this bass are the only good things about it. Cheapo bridge, tuning pegs, electronics. Also they advertise a mint green pick guard and mine arrived with a white one and had holes for the p bass pickup cover! The finish is better on this bass than on my American Jazz. Nice and light. There is routing that was done under the bridge, so a change to a badassII has to be done by a pro...bummer. If this would have cost less I would have rated the value much higher. Overall a nice bass to play, sounds good through my west fillmore and my 2 eden 410 cabs

            Awsome look, sound and feel

            By RedSG

This bass is insane! Love it the sound is amazing and don't get me started on the finish! I'm a very busy musican and it's great how light it is. I love how I can switch from a jazz tone for my schools band then go to heavy tone for my hardcore stuff without switchn basses. Great buy just the knobs were lose when I got it but easy to fix. If your a bassist with style out side of your music you should buy the aerodyne !

Best of P and J bass in one

            By Ivan Shepperd

            from Dallas, TX

This is a very sleek and beautiful bass. I?ve had the Blue model for about 6 months and just love it. The workmanship is absolutely perfect. I have not found a single flaw in any part. Really holds its tune too. One thing that?s not mentioned in the write-up is that it has a Jazz neck rather than the wider P neck. So you get a Precision body with a Jazz neck which I think is the best of both worlds. I liked the original round-wound strings but I replaced them with a set of chrome flat-wounds and I think it sounds even better.

            You'll Love It

The Aerodyne will blow you away. Once you play it you won't be able to shake the thought of it. It is perfect for those who love that punk feel, it can go from a fat, deep tone to a Mike Dirntish kind of feel. If you can afford it, the only thing better in it's range is a Spector.

Be carefull with the jack socket

I was looking for another bass when I came across a red Aerodyne. I am very pleased with how it compares with my other "Real" American basses. The main issue I have is the location of the jack socket means that if I catch the plug with my leg the sound has gone. Easily cured with a right angle jack plug but some of these don't fit as the socket is recessed. Sort this out and the guitar is brilliant.

            Slightly dissappointed but...

            By Chris Steiner

            from Baltimore, MD

Beautiful flame top, plays very nicely and sounds great with the P pickup soloed or with some J mixed in. My only beef is that the cheapo bridge isn't centered in the routed place for it, leaving unfinished wood showing around the right side and back of the "pocket". Surprising for Fender quality control to let that one slip through in my opinion. For the money though, if it didn't have that one little flaw, this Fender Aerodyne Bass is a beautiful bass and really puts out the P-bass tone I was looking for.

            Perfection

            By TheHammer

            from Tulsa, OK

This bass is beautiful, just looking at it makes me wish I was a better musician, it play's so beautifully it could make any bassist cry, it's super light the neck is super fast, I can't even begin to describe how perfect this bass is!The only thing that was a might inconvient was that the neck had a slight bow to it but a few turns of allen wrench and everything was right as rain! The Transparent Blue is truly a work of art, I really love this bass and if you buy one I'm sure you'll love your's too!

I own the natural flavored Aerodyne P bass - she is gorgeous! Pictures do not do these basses justice. With the split-p and the jazz bridge pickups I have the ability to go from fat bottom to smooth jazz tones. Very comfortable with the narrowed body, c-shaped neck, and it's much lighter than an American Deluxe P Bass. This one is a keeper! I get comments not only on my sound, but the looks of my Aerodyne after every show. Do yourself a favor and get one of these - every good bass player deserves one! it is - precious to me %)

The Natural coloured bass looks AMAZING!

            By harrychampion

I have yet to an a/b sound test with my Fender USA P, but for now I just wanted to say that the photo here of the honey-coloured 'Natural' DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE! We have one in the store I work at and it looks like a million bucks. The flamed maple has those gorgeous 3D waves in the grain that cannot be captured by camera. My P Bass is in Lake Placid Blue, a Fender custom colour, and it just does not compare to this beauty :) I'm so jealous
