OVERVIEW

A Precision Bass that's complimented with unique finishing techniques and quality electronics.

The Limited Edition Sandblasted Ash Precision Bass features one of the most alluringly unusual finish treatments yet seen on a Fender instrument. After the transparent finish (in beautiful Sapphire Blue or Crimson Red) is applied, the ash body is literally sandblasted, leaving the surface grain pattern wonderfully textured with parallel ruts and grooves in which the black grain-filler coat shows beneath the color finish coat. It' a truly beautiful look complemented by a black pickguard, and the œtopography of no two instruments is identical. The bass is also finely appointed with an American Standard split-single-coil Precision Bass pickup, a comfortable maple neck and fingerboard, and much more.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition Sandblasted Precision Bass Electric Guitar:

This bass has a very comfortable neck and has great balance. The tone control adjusts from bright and crisp to deep and warm. A quick saddle adjustment was all this bass needed. I would recommend this bass to anyone that loves to jam.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition Sandblasted Precision Bass Electric Guitar:

LOVE this bass. I was a bit worried because it's essentially an American Special and lacking a few of the American Standard accoutrements. However, it's GOT the posi-flex rods in the neck and it's GOT the Am-Std pickup. Plus it has the Greasebucket tone circuit and the super-buttery satin neck of the Am-Special. So it's kind of the best of both worlds, and that's before you consider the price and the crazy awesome finish. The finish might not be for everyone - the grain relief is really deep, but also incredibly smooth. It looks kind of "metal" with the dark pickguard, but I added a white-pearl one, strap-loks, and a pickup cover, and now it has a much more classic/funky vibe. It's become the bass I can't put down. I'll probably still upgrade the bridge, but not because anything's "wrong" with the Fender vintage model. Setup was ok out of the box - needed some added truss tension, lower action, and slight pickup adjustment. It comes set-up to play hard rock with no buzz, and the tradeoff is higher action. Easy to adjust though, and it's held the adjustment and tune perfectly. Tone is outstanding. Super bright with the maple fingerboard, but the P pickup has plenty of depth, too. An outstanding slap/funk bass, but I'm pretty sure it would work for anything you threw at it. Gig bag is just alright, and I'll probably never use it. Regardless, I've got 2 other Fender basses (and have played WAY more) and they definitely nailed it with this one.

Comments about Fender Limited Edition Sandblasted Precision Bass Electric Guitar:

Besides the unique look it is just comfortable to play. I like the neck. It is well suited for my hands. I also own a '63 P' Bass but she only comes off my wall when I'm in the mood. My limited edition sandblasted P is just as much the sledgehammer as the rest. I keep this one close.
