Instead of asking for a grad party for my high school graduation, I asked for a new bass. When I went to Guitar Center with my dad, this bass caught my eye right away. The finish was gorgeous. I have always had a thing for sunburst guitars, especially tobacco sunburst as it is not seen very often anymore. I plugged it into an Ampeg SVT combo amp and the thing sounded amazing. I slapped and popped around on it for at least half an hour. There were a ton of knobs and many different tonal possibilities. This bass sounded better than the $1200 American Fenders on the wall. This bass has sharp, snappy highs; thundering lows and everything in between. It definitely sounds as good as it looks. Its sound has a lot of personality and soul. The only problem that I had is that the action is relatively high, but most Fender basses are like this from the factory. I carefully lowered it and now it plays great. No dead spots!I absolutely recommend this bass to anyone (on a budget or not) looking for a great gigging bass. Fenders are the toughest basses around and this one has been a workhorse for me for years. I look forward to many long nights with this bass in my hands.

Too many nice feature to mention. Great sound and appearance. The neck is fast and fairly solid. My problem was the bridge set up and the multitude of loose screws, nuts etc. I took the whole thing apart and tightened it up, put on new strings and it plays with a minimum of buzz. Some of the metric bridge set screws were head stripped. Not too good on the quality control and inspections. Excellent value.

Sweet bass!!

By Anonymous

I have had this bass for a year. I have always played Ibanez basses, and this was my first non Ibanez bass. I am now a Fender devotee for life. The neck is a perfect size. I have small hands...my small hands fly up and down the beautiful maple fretboard. And the action comes perfect right out of the box. The sound is terrific, and the active eq makes a whole range of sounds possible. Buy this bass. Spector looks. Fender Jazz quality and tone.

One for the techies!

With soo many knobs and a switch for slap, you get a choice to endless tone possibilities. The 24 fret is nice to have, but there is a little flexibility in the neck, yes if you bend it, you can kill your play. But, you bend the neck away from you, you have yet, even more choices for tone. Not recomended, however. A very cool, easy to play and love bass.

With my Fender P Bass giving me 30+ years of great service, I decided I deserved a new bass. After reading a lot of reviews I thought "American" or "Custom Shop" was going to be the only way to go and my wife wanted to get me one from the Custom Shop. I decided to check all that out at a music store that could get me either and really didn't want to wait at least a year for the custom job. I played a variety of P and J basses in stock, both American and imported and fell in love with this bass. The workmanship on mine is Custom Shop quality and it plays like a dream. It's made in Korea, but I could not see a difference from the best "American" bass I played. I have given it a real workout the past month and a half (6-7 shows a week) and just get happier with it each gig.

A true bargain

I bought this bass about 6 months ago and it's become one of my all time favorites. It has a fast comfortable neck. It has an amazing range of tonal possibilities. How many basses can go from a big band jazz gig to a funk gig and do both with ease? I own the tabacco finish and have had more compliments on it than I can count. Considering the very reasonable price of this bass, and how much more I enjoy it compared to my American made Fender Jazz bass, this is one I can use on stage and just practicing. At the price and sound, it almost qualifies as a "guilty-pleasure".

I'm in love with the Bass again!

By Taitg

from Maui, HI

Being a huge Rush fan, I have wanted a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass for a long time. After comparing it to the Jazz Bass 24, I deicded to get the Jazz 24. The Jazz 24's pickups are crisp, yet still warm. After playing a 5-string for years, the neck feels worlds more comfortable. Quality tuners, bridge and the battery compartment (9 volt just snaps in!) are great qutality- especially for the price! I could not be happier!

What an axe!

By BassMan24-oqX5j

This is the first bass I have bought brand new. I started out on an Ibanez Soundgear and decided it was time to step up to the top. I played over a dozen basses in the store before I played this one, and WOW! Bought it as soon as I unplugged it. Great tone, great fretboard and I love the quilt top......and.....24 frets! Killer!

Fender Jazz bass

By Chris-MbBsq

from Houston, TX

i played this bass at a local guitar store and i was quite impressed. it is very light for having a maple top and it looks very groovy. the neck is very fast and like a modern jazz bass but with 24 frets which is great. there were some slight problems with the electronics tho. the pickups were loosely screwed in and when i rest my thumb on them they sunk down some. some of the knobs for eq and the slap switch were loose as well. but im pretty sure that was from people playing it in the store. if ur on a budget and u need a good active bass this is the way to go.

funkmasterron

This is an excellent bass!I have been playing bass for many years and was looking for a very versatile bass to play various styles (funk, jazz, rock, etc.)The Bassline pickups and preamp on this bass are phenomenal and allow for numerous tone possibilities from a warm Jaco-like sound to a nasty P-bass sound.I have played several American made Fender basses and like the feel and tonal quality of this bass better! Plus, for the price, it is a steal.Recommendation for anyone thinking about buying it: get a full setup (neck adjustment, action, and intonation adjustment) before taking the bass out of the store. The build quality of this Korean made bass is good (but not as good as the American made Jazz basses), but these adjustments should be made for the instrument to play correctly.
