Standard Jazz Bass with Tinted Neck

Since its introduction in 1960, the Fender Jazz Bass has been relied on by professional bass players of all musical genres for its rich tone and musical versatility. Upgraded for 2009, the Standard Jazz Bass incorporates the best of the old and new, offering modern single-coil pickups, shielded body cavities, medium jumbo frets, a vintage-style Fender bridge, three-ply parchment pickguard, and a '70s-era logo.

The freshly upgraded Standard J-Bass has a lot to offer besides a fresh coat of paint. From the frets to the pickups, Fender advanced the quality of the Standard Series. While still hand-built at the Fender factory down in Ensenada, Mexico, they now have a few choice improvements.

The inclusion of medium-jumbo frets gives the Standard Jazz Bass a more modern feel and makes them smoother to play. Made from traditional, nickel-silver, these are the same frets installed in American Series Fenders. All the Standard series axes also feature a healthy layer of noise-killing paint shielding in the body cavities. Combined with shielding tape applied to the pickguards and body cavity covers, it will ensure performances are a lot quieter.

And finally, every Standard Series Fender Bass will now include a gig bag, so you won't be forced to immediately shell out more cash for a case or carry it around in the cardboard box it was shipped in.
