Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5123B Electromatic Electric Bass Guitar:

If you're here reading reviews it's because you think you want this bass. Trust me, YOU WANT THIS BASS! I don't play it at every show but when I do... I get people coming up to the stage ALL NIGHT LONG! Once you get past the fact that it has a show stopping coolness factor and it's just beautiful to look at, this thing sounds great! It has the same Thunder-Tron pickups as the most expensive Gretsch basses. Sweet, woody tone that only a hollow-body can deliver. Check out the songs at www.toonorth.com and listen to "Touch of Gray", "Behind Blue Eyes", "Pretzel Logic" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". All of them were recorded using the Gretsch. The previous review is spot on about the Roadrunner hard case. I ordered that same one and it fits great. Just a little snug around the strap button on the upper bout but it's a great fit all the way around. You will not be disappointed with this bass in anyway. It's got it all. Looks, Tone, Versatility. Get one before they're gone.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5123B Electromatic Electric Bass Guitar:

I have a 2010 orange version of this bass that was exclusive for brick-and-mortar GC stores. Good to see they finally made this great instrument available online. And burgundy looks awesome! Gretsch never fails in coolness factor.

Since I technically don't have this exact instrument I won't go into much detail in this review, but I wanted to share that Road Runner RRMBA17 ABS Molded Acoustic Bass Case fits my orange G5123B like a glove. It should fit the burgundy version as well. It's available on MF as of this writing.

Comments about Gretsch Guitars G5123B Electromatic Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass is one of the world's best kept secrets. I had a hard time finding any information at all. With what I did find, I swollowed hard, ponied up the cash and ordered.
I was not disapointed. This instrument is everything I hoped for and more! The 32 inch scale was a surprise, but turns out to be the best of both worlds. It's a high quality, high value instrument in my humble opinion. I wouldn't change a thing. Luv it!
