For the price, this is hard to beat. The pups are quiet. The action decent after some tweaking of the truss and bridge. The tone knob has a fairly radical sweep and seems to actually boost volume as you add treble. The pictures don't do the finish justice but mine did have a slight flaw by the knobs, not really noticeable except under scrutiny. Playability enhanced by the short scale. It will fit in most guitar gigbags The volume controls will actually start to distort the signal when pushed-takes a little getting used to. I like that but some may not if your amp does not have the headroom or you play tour axe volume full-on. Great starter or backup bass. I use mine as a "beater" on the bar scene.
