Comments about Ibanez AGB200 4-String Electric Bass:

Needed a bass that had an upright sound for big band and concert band playing. Changed the stock round wounds for a set of nylon wrapped strings(which eliminated the "squeak"). Also sounds great with the piano, bass, drums group I play with. Plus it's MUCH lighter than my '67 T-Bird and Les Paul 5-string. It looks great and most people are amazed how little it cost. If it ever "dies",I'll get another one.

Comments about Ibanez AGB200 4-String Electric Bass:

I've been playing professionally for almost 50 yrs. I've played just about every kind of music. I've also owned and played many different basses. My favorite bass , and the most used is the Fender American made Jazz Bass. Because of a recent handicap I have to play a short scale. I tried everything that Fender had to offer and didn't like them and sent them back! I tried an Epifone SG type and a Beatle copy. And I tried a few more not worth mentioning. Unbelievably I settled on an Ibanez Gio Micro. It plays nice but weak sound. Still not satisfied, I ordered the Ibanez AGR 200. When I opened the box the looks got me excited. A beautiful finish just as good as the higher priced basses that I had tried. The best surprise came when I plugged in. What a great sound! And on the gig the sound and playability was even better. I'm totally satisfied. It's not my old Fender Jazz bass it's BETTER!

Comments about Ibanez AGB200 4-String Electric Bass:

Great instrument overall. It initially has an overly bright sound that picks up too much finger and fret noise with the stock roundwound strings. Put on some flatwounds and maybe lower the pickups and your golden. The noise is gone, and you get a great vintage, open tone for blues, jazz, and classic rock. Buy it for the looks alone.

Comments about Ibanez AGB200 4-String Electric Bass:

One of the most beautiful basses I have seen, the binding and craftsmanship is on point. I even like the way they made the volume and tone knobs to match the guitar. My Bass came pretty well set up and ready to go, the neck was straight enough and there was no buzzing of the strings, alittle tuning and admiring, started playing 5 minuets after I got it. When I put a strap on the bass it had a tendency to lean away from the body, if you need to see the fretboard it might present a problem, maybe a different strap position would help, didn't bother me. It sounds very woody and a little bit hollow, it doesn't sound like an Jazz or P bass, I have both so the comparison was easy for me to make, it has its own sound. I think it would mix up good in a easy setting, a little light rock and some country music, not a metal bass by no means. All in all I knew what I was getting when I order it so I'm not disappointed at all, its not a fender or musicman, it's an Ibanez and that's what it sounds like.
