OVERVIEW

A 4-string for those who desire a classic look with the legendary Ibanez tone and craftsmanship you've come to expect.

For the working bassist who prefers a bass in the classic style, here's the Premium ATK. But classic style simply served as a starting point for the bass designers at Ibanez. After a long, intense period of R&D -much of it focused on pick up combinations-Ibanez arrived at a version of the ATK that is markedly versatile. As they like to say: "Every song, every set, every night." Add to that the Ibanez Premium level of quality, on which touring and studio musicians can rely.

ATK Premium features the great combination of the original Ibanez "Sonic Arch" front pickup and a double humbucker rear pickup, providing an extraordinary tonal palette. Output balance of both pickups is maintained, string-to-string, by the design of the matching arched pickup cover and coil inside pickup unit. With a CAP Double Humbucker bridge pickup and a Ibanez proprietary CAP Sonic Arch neck pickup, in combination with the specially made ATK-N3 3-band EQ, the ATK Premium delivers true versatility. Jazz, gospel, classic rock, metal¦ there's no form of music outside the comfort zone of the ATK Premium.

Here's why Ibanez calls it "The Premium Treatment" - the fret edges of these ATKs are a result of their luthiers' supreme attention and takes slow, demanding process. As the result, the neck offers a smooth, comfortable fret-hand feel.

Comments about Ibanez ATK800E Premium 4-String Bass Guitar:

This is a well made and finished bass. The color scheme is very cool and modern looking, while the tone woods (Maple, Oak and touches of Rosewood) are old school and proven performers live and in the studio. Electronics are very quiet, versatile and most important, sound great. The neck on the ATK800 is definitely THICK, but the flat fretboard radius and excellent fretwork make this bass easy and fun to play, I switched the stock roundwound strings for flatwound Chromes, rolled back the treble control and was rewarded with a very pleasing, old-school, P-Bass thump and warmth. The looks may not be for everybody, but the sound is where it's at with this bass. This is a professional instrument that can proudly serve as the workhorse for most working bassists. Without reservation I highly recommend the Ibanez ATK800 bass.

Comments about Ibanez ATK800E Premium 4-String Bass Guitar:

I couldn't afford a Stingray at the time. I read an ad in the old Bass Player Magazine on how this bass, could cut through a drummer's bashing. Very true. It got me a gig at the world-famous Roxy Theater in Hollywood in a power trio doing CREAM, HENDRIX and SRV live arrangements. It's really good for walking bass lines too. I played the same set with a Gibson bass later on-and I lost the gig! What does that tell you? Ouch! Of course the drummer was late and WE missed the sound check, and had no monitors on stage. Now more importantly- when I could afford a Music Man- I got a Sterling. My bass and cello teacher was right! Those necks move around, and in the studio I messed up on a fine recording with MM Clicking as the neck moved from constant gigging. GET the ATK bass, because they are collectable and will do you nicely on live gigs. MS (Oh and bass chords ring like a bell on this bass, as well)

Comments about Ibanez ATK800E Premium 4-String Bass Guitar:

I never buy instruments over the internet but I wanted to try Musicians Friend and see what people who have bought from them have been telling me. This bass is awesome! This one is far my most favorite in my collection. The product itself is top notch and arrived at my residence in pristine condition. I even got a few other surprises in my package as well. I have been sold on Musicians Friend and will not shop anywhere else. I will be now and forever a loyal customer.
