Ibanez

A boutique quality bass with Ibanez craftsmanship and thoughtful design at an affordable price.

Without a doubt, your instrument should equal the quality of your effort. At some point the word "boutique" comes to mind: Select-grade materials, neck-thru construction, and top quality components, all in a meticulously crafted instrument. But what about the price? That's where Ibanez comes in. Their ability to build small-shop quality into inspiring yet affordable instruments is showcased by BTB series basses.

The BTB's extra-long 35-inch neck scale offers tight, even tension with no flopping on the low end, and added sustain on the high strings. It also provides superior articulation, making it perfect for 6-strings. Neck-thru construction provides massive sustain and excellent stability.

The BTB's much deeper cutaways allow effortless access to the upper frets. The Mono-Rail bridge delivers the ultimate in string-to-string isolation, meaning that each string vibrates optimally without be affected by the others. BTB's string spacing is 17mm for 6-strings, offering more freedom on the fretboard, and comfortable access for finger picking and slapping.

Nordstrand "Big Single" pickups provide the clarity of single-coil pickups, while the large body gives players a full and aggressive tone. 3-band EQ with mid frequency switch fine-tuned specifically for the BTB. The active 3-band EQ features fully independent bass, treble, and mid controls with a wide boost/cut range. The preamp system is equipped with a mid-frequency select switch, enabling you to instantly select 250Hz and 600Hz - the heart of the mid zone - for a more dynamic and ideal tone. Its Neutrik locking jack provides stable and secure connections, preventing accidental disconnect or shock and vibration.

Comments about Ibanez BTB1406E Premium 6-String Electric Bass:

I've owned this bass for almost a year and it has become my main bass. It is much lighter than my 776PB and the Nordstrom pick-ups sound like Fender pick-ups on steroids. They sound great passive and the 3 band eq and mid frequency switch can dial in virtually any tone you want. As is always the case looks much better in person than in the pictures. The action is quite low and takes some getting used to but the neck is very fast and the fret work is superb. Took about ten minutes to set the string hight for the stepped strings I use. This is not a beginner bass but if you are a pro or semi-pro looking to upgrade to a boutique bass at a reasonable price this is one to definately check out. Very satisfied!

Comments about Ibanez BTB1406E Premium 6-String Electric Bass:

Great sounding bass that packs a lot of power. Im running through a GBE 1200 and getting the volume out of the bass is not an issue. The tone is solid while allowing versaitlity to convert to slapping and popping without a change in settings. I previously owned a BTB 776 and the quality continues. This bass has a major advantage of the 776 because of its lighter weight. If you like looks this bass looks bette in person than it does on the pictures. I've had this bass for a week and have not put it down and the only slight issue for a novice player such as myself is the lower strings tend to ring out on runs even if im not scaling down from them so extra effort in muting is required.
