Good looking, great playing, and affordable too.
The BTB305 5-string bass guitar's deeper, curvacious cutaway gives your fingers a clearer pathway to the upper registers while it's DFR-N5 neck pickup and DFR-BN bridge pickup provide a thick sound and accurate response. The large mahogany body, with it's flamed maple top creates exceptional tone and sustain which can be flavored to your standards with the help of the built-in EQB-IIIC 3-band EQ controls. That was my 1st bass guitar, the most enjoyable you could have!
- Was this a gift?:
This bass has incredible diversity in the pickups, getting a smooth bass tone out for jazz or slow jam, or a loud full sound for slap. This bass can do it all! It co-operates with my amps and pedals very well. Hard to find a better bass for your buckk anywhere!!!
this bass was amazing, versatile and worth to buy.. the look was great and the feel even better, nice bass..
This bass has some truly remarkable features, I bought mine about three days ago and it came in today, obviously I'm very impressed. It has good sustain, powerful pickups, and excellent harware in general. Besides the look and color (the picture of the red dosn't do this baby justice), the fret board is very smooth for a five string and the weight is nearly feather light compared to my old Fender. This bass is perfect for my style (see above)so if you play my kind of music you'll enjoy it. All in all a good buy for those of us who can't spare the money to buy a Rickenbacker or Warwick or even the 455QM, buy and understand the true craftsmanship of Ibanez.
I have owned this bass for 2 years and I love it. The craftsmanship is similar to basses costing twice as much and the sound is on par with any bass that I have heard. It is truly a beautiful instrument. I highly recommend this bass.
This bass is excellent in all regards, the active pickups with 3-Band EQ make this bass good for all styles of playing. The quality of sound is ten times better than the other basses I own, or have played. This bass is worth every dollar, if you wanted a bass of this quality from another company expect to pay a lot more.
I'm very pleased with this bass. The pots on this instrument are high quality which in my opinion, means they're quiet and have a quality "feel" about them. (My old bass with passive pickups hissed on stage whenever I turned up the treble control.) No extraneous noise coming from this bass. It is light, feels good in my hands, can accommodate slapping nicely without feeling like you're holding a "two-by-four." The red color looks nice under stage lights.
I just got this bass for Christmas and it is exquisite. First off, the previous review is right, the pics don't do it justice. In person, the red is beautiful, looking exactly like a candy. The black is very elegant with a smokey look (I got the red one). All the hardware is finished in black chrome, giving the bass a rugged look. The craftsmanship is out of this world: very solid, ALL PIECES JOIN PERFECTLY, the grain patterns are beautiful, the neck is perfect, etc.The pre-amp is great and the pots are of great quality. Usually pots are cheap and cause the knobs to wiggle and move while playing, not so with these. The pre-amp also features an easy access battery box.The 35" scale is not hard to get used to, you will have to slide your hand a little more, but it keeps the B-string tight. I've played a Godin 34" scale 5-string and the B-string was too loose.All-in-all you will not be disappointed. And this bass is IDEAL for ALL styles of music and playing (finger, slap, pick). I would not spend my time writing a review if I couldn't say that this bass is the one of the best deals you will ever find and looks better than many of the basses that'll take your next house payment.
Man oh man. This bass is killer. I got this in red for Christmas and when I picked it up I thought, 'This has got to be one of the lightest basses ever.' The neck is thin and fast and the tone control is outstanding. You have a whole pre-amp and a shape nob. The pickups aren't anything special but they do their job. There is nothing this bass cannot do. I love it, buy it.
