For my first 5 string, I was aiming for comfort more than anything. I tried a Spector, a Yamaha, 2 Trabens, and 2 LTDs, but none of them felt nearly as good as this one. Its low action makes it very easy to play, and the best part is that the strings are very spaced out so there's plenty of room to hit the strings without worrying about accidentally making the wrong one ring. Also, the sound you get from the basswood and the bartolinis is massive and clean. The only reason it's not a perfect 5 is because it isn't a set-neck. Overall, if you're looking for a powerful sound, this bass will meet your demands, but if what you want more than anything is comfort and effortless playability, look no further. It's the best bass I've ever played.

I am not really happy with this bass. I have had to have mine in the shop 5 times in the last year for various problems. The low end is awesome, the upper end sucks. I like to play in the upper register sometimes and this bass just does not sound great on higher notes. I won't be buying any Ibanez basses again.

I love this bass. i have playd all of my friends bass (including a Corvett) and nothing compares. the action is low (without too much buzz) the pickups are amazing and the pre amp gives me mor gain than i could ever need. i can play my soft rock on the neck pickup and go to mettal by going to the bridge puckup and and turning up the pre amp, i love it

A friend of mine left this with me along with an Swr workingmans 15 combo. Well I'm usually a guitar player, but can I say this has brought me over to the dark side. Sound quality of this thing is almost amazing. I've run into a few problems, like the B string tuner gear striped out. Another is when I play sitting down the upper horn digs into my chest, no biggy. Over all I've come to love this thing and hoping to maybe get it in a 4 string.

Great bass, 18v lots of onboard power great low end. Guitar is heavy, solid bass wood. Hard to see neck location on dark stages, small dots.

This bass is an amazing find, whether your just starting out on the five string, or are just lookingfor a second bass, this will not disappoint. My dad's friend was hosting a party with a one-night band and they needed a bassist so I stepped up, he just happened to own this bass and let me use it. The instant I touched the bass I realised just how much mine sucked.

I've owned one of these for around 6 years now, and it's been nothing but amazing. Solidly built, comfortable to play, great looks and unbelievably versatile tone. It's hard to find any downsides - even as it ages, it feels like it gets better. If you're in the market for a solid 5 string, you really owe it to yourself to check this instrument out - and if you're not a fan of Ibanez, this one will change your mind.I'm a BTB player for life.

Amazing

I've had this bass for a couple weeks now and it is amazing. I bought it used and had some scratches on it but it looks sweet, has a lot of options, feels good, and plays very nice.

Very Nice

By arroyobass

I love this bass. The tone that this bass putts out is beautiful. I like the bridge because it has a separate piece for every string. The Locking Jack is nice if you move a lot on stage so you don't step on your cable and pop it out. but is bad because you can only take advantage of the jack a few times before the wiring goes bad. I had to get the jack replaced for about 40 dollars.

The Second One

By Big Mike

from Greer ,SC

I purchased this bass from a local music store and as soon as I saw it I was like woah!!! It looks cool and the color changes depending on the light in house light its almost purple, florescent it looks black or green. But this bass is good for it all, rock metal jazz funk blues you name it . The Only drawback is the bass gets a little bit of hum but that could just be my amp.... Uh......well its a little heavy but two active pick ups it should be sturdy.

This is one awesome bass! The only complaint I have is that the D and G strings are a little weak on A,Bb,B,or C. It sounds awesome on any amp I have ever plugged it in to.
