Wow! What a great Acoustic electric axe!

This is my 1st experience with elec/acou. bass and I am beyond pleased. Dialed in great tone fast and the onboard features are awesome. Who would've thought of an on board tuner? Awesome job Ibanez. I'm very pleased.

Great Buy

This is a really awesome bass. It has great sound and the onboard tuner is great. I would get a hardshell case to protect it though and buy a new set of strings with it cause the ones that come with it are to short and are kinda crudy.

VERY NICE! I've wanted an acoustic bass for YEARS and kept putting it off. When I finally found this bass as a "B Stock" item at another dealer, I bought it and held my breath. When it arrived, I was delighted to only find a nearly invisible crack in the finish at the onboard tuner. Takes a magnifying glass to see the crack, which is only finish-deep. But for B-Stock, NOT complaining and the VERY reasonable price I paid (because it was B-Stock), its worth every penny and more - certainly worth the regular asking price! It only needed neck and bridge adjustments when it arrived. The low B is VERY weak, but this is a PRACTICE BASS, so I don't care. Great onboard electronics and tuner! BEAUTIFUL finish! BUY IT NOW!

Ok bass for the price

I've had this bass for a few months now, and it is VERY good for the price. It has a rounder, calmer sound than most basses, and it is nearly impossible to slap on it. You also should check for any kind of buzzing on the strings, in which case you should buy fome flatwounds. I used a set of Rotosound 5-string additions, but you could probably use anything that is coated or flatwound. Other than that, it's pretty good.

This bass is attractive, and seems be pretty decent, but now it cuts outs intermittently, and that is just a big fat fail on a name brand bass of this price. Overall, I'm just disappointed in it's weak output and unreliability.

great if you have the patience to upgrade parts

the neg stuff about this bass is true: low output acoustic volume (probably due to the walnut type of wood used), crapy strings (recommend elixers or other coated acoustic strings), bridge pins should have been made from wood not plstic, fret buzz is anoying, should have better quality control factory w/ nut slotting but the up side is it has great plugin tone, great fishman pickup w/ awesome features like chourus, tunner, and feedback cancler. i really wish musician's friend would find out exactly what hard/soft cases would fit and advertise them w/ the instrument as an option

Have owned it for 2 months

I was pretty excited to buy this guitar. Walnut body looks great, it doesn't look cheap, it looks quality. Holds its tune well, which is most of what I am looking for in a guitar. Onboard tuner features and EQ are awesome. I'm accustomed to playing my electric bases with fingers, and while the body on this guitar is full sized, its volume with fingers can't cut it acoustically if you're accompanying a friend on 6-string acoustic. So I have had to start working with a pic, and with a pic its acoustic volume is fine. Plugged in it sounds great, but plugged in I'll probably stick with my regular electrics. Action is good, but as an acoustic it is a little harder to hit clean notes than either of my electrics. That probably says more about my playing skill than it does about the guitar. I have noticed that practicing on the Ibanez Acoustic Electric has improved my finger strength when I switch back to the electrics, which is nice. It didn't come with a gig bag, you have to buy that seperately. Its a fun guitar to play, has good tone, but it won't replace my ric or washburn. Shouldn't be your only bass, but if you can have 2 or 3 guitars it makes a nice addition to the collection.

Ask me a question

I was looking for a 5 string acoustic, I didn't want to pay too much but wanted the best for my money. After researching I decided on the Ibanez EWB. I love it. The tone and feel are great. The action is like playing my regular bass. I love that I can practice without plugging in. Sounds Great plugged or unplugged.
