This is a great bass. I recommend this bass to anyone starting out or even as a backup bass! It has great slap tone to it. For its price and value, its a bargain for the price. Worth every penny.

i bought this bass when looking for a good starter bass, at a low price. andat first i was impressed, and i still am for how good it is for the price, but after a while i kept noticing more and more flaws, and now im looking into getting a new one, i would save your money and get a fender.

For a bass that is cheaper and lighter than a Squier, I was surprised at how amazing this bass felt. Running it through a 60w Roland Cube amp, it sounds amazing. The neck is slim and fast, the action can get nice and low, and the EQ gives it a chunky low punch. After playing over twenty guitars in one sitting, this is the BEST bass guitar for the money.

Ibanez Gio GSR200 FM Bass

I got the Ibanez Gio GSR200FM 200 bass back in May in the amber sunburst finish. I thought I should wait a few months to review so that I can really get to know the bass better. 1)It looks fantastic, very clean look.  No flaws in the finish or headstock.  2)I really love the EQ Phat boost.  It gives the bass a tubby and round sound (I also put on some Rotosound flatwound black nylon strings on it).  3)The two pickups really have a lot of versatility in them.  You can get all sorts of sounds out of it by fiddling around with all four knobs.  4) Neck is comfortable and thin (how I like it) The neck is not glossed, so your hands can really slide up and down. Now for some of the things which were not major problems, but I thought I should mention them: 1)Combination of the extremely stiff strings and high action made it harder to play for me. The strings felt very stiff and taut, not soft and slinky.  Combined w/ high action, it made the strings harder than it should be to push down onto the frets. Maybe mine was a lemon. 2)There was a small amount of some unidentifiable "shmuck" on the fretboard.  Didn't make a difference in the sound at all, but it's worth mentioning.  Really it's only a minor problem. My main advice is to try a bass out in store before you buy.  You cannot rely on other people's reviews to choose a bass; they're meant to supplement.  Had I tried the bass I RECIEVED out in store before I bought it, I'm not sure if I would have, based only on feel. But I doubt all of these were set up like mine. Overall, this bass is really well made, with only a few problems I encountered.  But as the other reviews show, the problems are infrequent.  This is a very adequate bass for everyday players.

I've owned this bass for about a year now. I didn't really appreciate it until I bought a Fender Rumble 350 bass amp...I really love the sound of the 2 together!
