Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
I have wanted to play Bass for a long time. I purchased a Washburn starter kit in November and begain a love affair. In December,I bought the Ibanez GIO.This is my first bass.I am still learning. There is a little fret rattle which can easily be corrected by technic. The sound quality, intonation,is exceptional.I am running it through an ampeg mini CL.I am focusing on motown,James Jamerson.I have had a beautiful experience and look forward to an enjoyable future.

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
I received this bass from my parents as a Christmas gift two years ago. They picked it because they liked the price and the appearance. Overall, this is a great bass considering the price. However, when I got it, I was surprised because playing an open string rattles the frets and makes it sound really unprofessional and unbasslike. I had to get the stings adjusted, and that took care of that. Also, the bass got dented (like the size of a fingerprint) from my trumpet hitting it (not hard). A good bass will NOT dent. The sound is good for a beginner, but I recommend picking something a little different, one that isn't as flexible in the body.

Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
Nice looking Bass. Have received several comment about the looks and the sound is far superior than my Sauier knockoff. very light, the action and the flat neck back have made playing so much asier for me. Highly recommend this one for amyone at any level.

This is a great bass. I recommend this bass to anyone starting out or even as a backup bass! It has great slap tone to it. For its price and value, its a bargain for the price. Worth every penny.
Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
i bought this bass when looking for a good starter bass, at a low price. andat first i was impressed, and i still am for how good it is for the price, but after a while i kept noticing more and more flaws, and now im looking into getting a new one, i would save your money and get a fender.
Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
For a bass that is cheaper and lighter than a Squier, I was surprised at how amazing this bass felt. Running it through a 60w Roland Cube amp, it sounds amazing. The neck is slim and fast, the action can get nice and low, and the EQ gives it a chunky low punch. After playing over twenty guitars in one sitting, this is the BEST bass guitar for the money.
Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
I got the Ibanez Gio GSR200FM 200 bass back in May in the amber sunburst finish. I thought I should wait a few months to review so that I can really get to know the bass better. 1)It looks fantastic, very clean look. No flaws in the finish or headstock. 2)I really love the EQ Phat boost. It gives the bass a tubby and round sound (I also put on some Rotosound flatwound black nylon strings on it). 3)The two pickups really have a lot of versatility in them. You can get all sorts of sounds out of it by fiddling around with all four knobs. 4) Neck is comfortable and thin (how I like it)The neck is not glossed, so your hands can really slide up and down. Now for some of the things which were not major problems, but I thought I should mention them:1)Combination of the extremely stiff strings and high action made it harder to play for me. The strings felt very stiff and taut, not soft and slinky. Combined w/ high action, it made the strings harder than it should be to push down onto the frets. Maybe mine was a lemon.2)There was a small amount of some unidentifiable "shmuck" on the fretboard. Didn't make a difference in the sound at all, but it's worth mentioning. Really it's only a minor problem. My main advice is to try a bass out in store before you buy. You cannot rely on other people's reviews to choose a bass; they're meant to supplement. Had I tried the bass I RECIEVED out in store before I bought it, I'm not sure if I would have, based only on feel. But I doubt all of these were set up like mine.Overall, this bass is really well made, with only a few problems I encountered. But as the other reviews show, the problems are infrequent. This is a very adequate bass for everyday players.

I've owned this bass for about a year now. I didn't really appreciate it until I bought a Fender Rumble 350 bass amp...I really love the sound of the 2 together!
Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
I bought this bass a while back, and its a great bass! the phat boost is really great, and it sounds absolutely great! the only thing I can complain about is how the onboard preamp consists of only tone knobs for the different pickups, rather than a bass mid, and treble boost/cut. the bass feels really good, sounds better, and plays great! a great price for a great bass
Comments about Ibanez Gio GSR200FM Bass Guitar:
I've had this bass for around three years now, and I have no complaints. The bass is beautiful in person (transparent blue sunburst), and the features with it are great. The Phat II EQ seems to be...odd, however. All the knob seems to do is make it louder, but the tone knob seems to add the twang effect you'd expect from the EQ. Maybe faulty wiring.Whoever put this together really hated there job, though. The bridge was glued (and resulted in a chunk of gloss coming off when I removed it), the wiring was much longer than it needed to be, and the bridge is sub-par.As far as the pickups, they've given me no issue. The J-pickup's wirings were burnt and such when I got it, so it doesn't work great. My score may be contradictory, but this bass is worth a 5/5 to me.I'd recommend it highly. Hell, I'm gonna buy another once I'm done with the modifications on my current one. Just to have.
