I just bought one of these, and I have to say that I am impressed with the quality. The fast neck is straight and very playable, with the weight almost evenly distributed between the neck and body. There is only the slightest neck dive. The electronics are dead quiet and put out a nice array of tones. With both pickups on, the sound is full and deep, with just enough top end to give it a nice growl. The middle pickup alone gives you a fat P-bass type tone, while the bridge pickup delivers the jazzy finger-style tones you would expect. With the fretboard being so far off the body, you probably wouldn't find slapping this bass all that comfortable, but it does extremely well for picking and fingerstyle. The stock strings were very useable, but I changed them to GHS flats to see what it would sound like. If you want something that gives you P/J tones, but want something different, try this bass. It sounds great and just looks plain cool.

My church had gotten this bass about a year back. yeah it was all cool and everything when we got it just because the way it looked because it looks real pretty in person actually. but after i had played it more i realized how sad it actually is. the tone on it is ok i guess nothing compared to my 96' mim fender p-bass but that figures, the action on it is SUPER SUPER high. like so much to where if i play or more than 10 minuets my hands cramp up haha i am pretty sure my callises have callises after playing this thing. it is big and bulky, and no one really uses it anymore haha i feel bad because the church bought it and no one uses it but the bottom line is that this bass is not good at all. would not reccomend to anyone.

VERSATILE AND AMZING

By Anonymous

I got this bass about 2 months ago and it just blew me away. I got this right before a gig and it's sound quality was fantastic. The 2 pick-ups allow for a good punchy and real low warm sound, also the gigantic bridge just makes this baby ring! The only downs side to this bass is the toggle between the two pick-ups and maybe the fret buzz (hardly noticeable). This is an awesome bass for anyone who is looking for an affordable quality bass.

great bass for a great price

take money out of the picture for a bit and this is a great bass. you can get a variety of sounds from this guy, and looks great. the only problems i have with it is that the neck feels a BIT thick, and that the 2 knobs control the volume for each pickup separately so thers no master volume unless u adjust from the amp. the pup closest to the neck is also placed where the pickgard is so its kinda hard to rest ur thumb when your playing on the E but other than that its a great bass.

Distinct tone for low bucks

I got this for its looks first. Then I wanted 1 mahogany bodied guitar to get the tone that this wood gives.I have a frettless jazz and a mim p-bass and they are all great and get the job done no problem. But this had a distinct tone and I put on Rotosound Nexus coated strings and wow what a sound. Also the neck lands just right in the box that I play alot and the octave doesn't require as much hand movement to get to.I whish they had put abit better quality tuners on but thats why I got it before the price jumped 100 bucks. Thanks Ben Bernanke ya drone. But its worth a look.

Legit Bass.

It rocks!
Dude, I got this amazing bass for Christmas, and I gotta tell you, this bass is awesome! I enjoy playing this bass by slapping because of the clear and funky sounds this beast creates. For it's price, the quality is unbeatable! I had this shipped to me and I didn't have to adjust a single thing! With vividly warm lows and hummingly high highs, it sounds beautiful. It has an awesome style and an awesome sound. It's a great buy and I reccomend this to everyone!

Great bass

I bought this bass from a local music shop in July of last year and all I can say is wow. This was my first bass and I am glad I got it. This beast has a very driven sound that will leave you winded. It is a bit heavy but I like that. Very sturdy. The strap locks didn't work for the first strap I got for it but all the others I have tried work. If you are looking for a solid bass this is what to get.

It's a jewel.

This bass is great. I bought one when months ago, and I couldn't be happier. The tone is great and the massive bridge gives you killer sustain. Ibanez has a great product here. My only complaint is the quality of the hardware.I would like to see Ibanez offer an upgraded edition with Bartolini pickups and electronics and Schaller tuning keys.

Super Solid

This bass is extremely stable, sounds good, and CHEAP! A real mahogany body with a 3 piece neck combine to make a very solid but warm-sounding instrument. The one I tested had a few small issues (loose bridge pickup, cross-threaded screw on the jack plate), but for the price, this is way too good to pass up.

this bass is king

By supertky

from bay area, CA

when i saw this bass on line i thought it was kindacool looking but nothing that would fit my many different styles. i play metal, punk, classic rock, indie, some jazz.....and so does this bass.....the pickups are pretty sweet, with a bright tone that and be turn into a more mellow feel. the sound overall makes you want to think your playing something in the range of 700 to 1000 dollars. and even though it does have an odd shape it feels amazing. perfect weight, and balance. it ruely is a must buy if you want to step up from squire but dont have the dough for a music man.
