A 6-string with amazing tonal range designed for beginners looking to upgrade or working bassists on a budget.
Standard SR basses offer a wide line-up, from beginner to working pros. They are versatile enough to play any kind of music, while SR's signature "Slim & Fast" neck gives you great playability. A firmly attached B16 bridge gives great sustain by sufficiently delivering the string vibrations to the body. The original Ibanez CAP EXF-N2 vertically wound pickups provide a punchy humbucking response. Output balance is maintained, string-to-string, by the design of the matching arched pickup cover and coil inside pickup unit. The fast swap battery cavity cover means no more lost cavity plates!

Comments about Ibanez SR256 6-String Bass Guitar:
You really can't go wrong with this purchase. Mahogany body, 3-piece maple neck, rosewood fretboard - classic tonewood combination. The pups and electronics package are the stock Ibanez stuff, but the stuff sounds really good. Versatile, clean, smooth, but nasty when you want it to be. Most importantly, the bass is dead quiet - no hum, hiss, or noise. Lightweight instrument, slim neck (of course - it's a Soundgear) - very comfortable to play. The string spacing may be a little tight for players with bigger hands and fingers. It is a snug 16.5mm pitch from center to center. I'm a big guy with big hands and fingers, so slap style techniques are more difficult for me on this bass. Otherwise, I normally play fingerstyle, and it is very comfortable for this. The tight spacing is nice when I'm working with a pick. Play this bass live and let the nice white finish reflect the colored stage lights into your audience. As far as studio, I haven't played this bass in that kind of controlled environment yet. I think it would do well, but you never know until you use it...
I would recommend this bass to any pro player that normally plays a higher end 6-string bass, but needs an inexpensive backup. I would also recommend this bass to working pros on a budget (like myself) as a primary or backup bass. Also, if you've recently started playing bass and you're curious about 6-string basses, go for it with this bass. For the price, you really can't go wrong.
