OVERVIEW

A looker and a player.

The Ibanez SR300FM 4-String Bass can master every genre from funk to punk. When Ibanez introduced the Soundgear bass guitar nearly 20 years ago, it personified the Ibanez slogan, "Anything But Traditional." At the time, Soundgear was the stuff of bass wizardry: lightweight, curvaceous, thin-necked, and equipped with powerful and versatile active electronics. With easy-playing Prestige thru-necks, Bartolini electronics and a host of other upgrades, the exquisite 2006 Prestige Soundgear basses will transport you to even more magical worlds of color and tone.

I played this bass at church when i forgot to bring my thunderbird one sunday. Im kind of glad I forgot it because I got to use this bass. First off it looks good. Nuff said. It feels good, the balance, the neck and frets, and it over all playability. And it sounds amazing. You have good control over the tone you want. The stacked treble and bass cut/boost is a wonderful knob to have. you can go from xtreme highs for awesome slap and pop tone, to a very low growl for heavier music. It does it all. I would recomend it to some one looking to upgrade past a beginer level bass

Never buy an Ibanez. I have been playing for over seven years now and have never come a across a worse bass brand, except for Deans, than Ibanez. They are poorly constructed using garbage woods that don't offer great tonal range. I know what a good bass should sound like, because I BUILD them at home. Don't get caught in the Ibanez hype just because every Metal bassist uses one. Lets not forget that metal is not famous for its bass excellence. Spend the extra money and get a Spector, Warwick, Fender, Aria, or other high end bass. It will be well worth the price. Trust Me!

Nice Bass

By Guitarman-HLJic

from Kentland, Indiana

I was directed by the music dealer to purchase this bass. For the price, the quality was outstanding, except the split knob control is a little noisy. Finish is great, and the neck has a very nice feel, as my hands are smaller than some. It has great sound played through a Peavey 115, and I'm very happy with the bass. I also purchased an Ibanez hardshell case that fits the unit like a glove. It's a very good buy and plays well.

I love this bass

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

As a guitar player I love this thing, the neck is so skinny. It allows me to play as fast as I want. I love how versatile it is. I play everything from funk to heavy metal on this thing. Great for down tuned stuff. Its one of my favorite basses I've ever played, and its extremely cheap. If your a guitarist who wants a bass this thing is perfect for you, also I would recommend it for any beginner to semi-professional.

Great Bass !

I love this Bass! I had A Dean that I used on stage before this one and I liked the action. I threw out the neck on the Dean so I was in search of an equivalent as far as the action goes and when I picked up this bass I fell in love, not only with the looks but the action and the sound. Ibanez did a great job with their attention to detail and quality on this bass.

I got this bass about 3 months ago and I haven't put it down since, I haven't played any shows with it but I have a show coming up in the next few weeks and with this bass I doubt I will need a backup,I'd bring one with me anyways but I doubt I'd need it

Amazing instrument!

By Tonks Inc

from Kansas City, MO

I love this bass to death. Just bought it a month ago, no problems at all. I've played on it a whole bunch, really dig the knob functions (extremely handy!). It's eye-catchy, especially the Transparent Red finish, and my other bassist friends like playing on it more than their own instruments! Little pricey, but worth it in the end.

Great look watch out drop D

By The Devil Himself

from Bay area California

I play in a hard rock/metal band and play with the 1st string on drop D. I get a little buzz from the bridge only in drop D ....thinking about replacing bridge. Other than that the sound and the fact I can hit every fast note better than my fender jazz bass is great.

Nice bass

By sean-Ec4be

from Bakersfeld, CA

The first thing I noticed when I picked up this bass was that it was pretty light. When I played it unamplified I realized it had an amazingly fast neck. Once I plugged it into a beavy combo amp nearby and messed with the blend, volume, ect., I discovered it had great tone also. Very punchy, low and biting. I'm a guitarist, but I bought this to play at my church, since we already had two guitar players and our bassist quit. I only played it through a cheap drive combo and a church house system, but through both of them you could still he that great sound. Very nice.

i got this after i had my starter pack ibanez bass for about a year and half, iv had it for about half a year and i love it. the finish is nice and the sound is amazing, i would choose this over a fender any day, seriously iof you get a bass dont get a bass that looks like all the others from theat company(fender) get something from a company that has different looking guitars and it never hurts to be differnet. Anywyas back to the bass, you wont be let down becuase it perfroms nice and it is good for the price.

Awsome bass for the price

By Shubhodeep

from India

This is an awsome product. Given the price, initially i felt that it could have been a little less, but when i played it, it was mind blowing. I am mainly into funk rock and hence do a lot of slappin n poppin all the time, this is a perfect gear for that kind of music. Moreover, while playing rock also, this thing stands out. The tone is very nice and gives a good overall feel.I would recommend it to anyone who's into my kind of music and wants a good bass for a good price!
