Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

I am a new bass player, switched to bass about six months ago so take my review with that in consideration. The first bass I purchased is a Fender American Standard P-bass, beautiful instrument, unparallelled refinement and quality. I don't particularly like the P-bass neck, which is a little chunky. I started looking into aquiring a Jazz bass when I discovered the Ibanez SR500, ended up purchasing the SR600 after reviewing the specs (seemed to be the most bang for the buck). As described, the Ibanez has a fast, smooth neck, which has a completely different than the Fender. That being said, I enjoy playing both basses, but I find myself having a hard time putting the Ibanez down. The ergonomics of the Ibanez suit me better, and I have big hands and long fingers (have read reviews that people with small hands prefer Ibanez necks). The active pickups obviously sound much different from the passive pickups on the Fender, but they sound great while offering a broader spectrum of tonal options. This bass is manufactured in Indonesia, and I feel that the quality is excellent. The frets are smooth, finish is nice, no dings or blemishes (which is what you would expect from a new instrument), and the action is nice and low, with no fret buzz. I'm really pleased with this bass, and look forward to getting a better amp to go with it.

Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

I just recieved this bass and I am happy to say that the humbucking pu's and the preamp are noise free and have a full spectrum of tone and attack.
I am pretty experienced at setting up my own basses so i set the action very low to meet my standards and there is no fret noise at all.
I previously returned a higher end Ibanez Presistige bass[mij] because I prefer the 9 volt battery driving the preamp as opposed to the 2 aa batteries driving the preamp for the Prestige.
Iam very happy with this Indonesian beauty

          Ibanez for life

Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

I first saw this bass at a music store in Green Bay. I brought it down and it was a beautiful bass. Everything about it just impressed me. The thinner neck is a huge advantage for bassists who play metal. The Bartolini MK-1 pickups are amzing and they sound great. I can turn my amp up as loud as I can and they still sound great. The easy access battery box as well is huge. Now I don't worry about carrying a screwdiver and having to lose those screws. If I were to suggest a bass I'd definetly recommend the SR series from Ibanez for playability, price, everything.

          Best Bass Out There!

Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

This is one amazing instrument. I got it about 3 months ago and has not let me down since! Even the stock strings (DRs) are great and really bright! When I got this bass I had tried Rickenbackers, Gibsons, Fenders(least favorite), Warwicks, and a Lakland. It came down to this and the Lakland and I chose this because of the really low price. So what if it's not made in the USA? Another was the SR500, it was ok, but felt cheap and plastic compared to this bass. I had to get the action reset but otherwise no problems at all! The Bartolinis are amazing sounding, and the active really does give you tonial variety. I love this bass! It is cost effective, great for pros or intermeadiate players too! It has a great sound, nice electronics, is super light, has an amazing neck, and quality that is unmatched for such a price! I highly advise it!

          Great Import

Comments about Ibanez SR600 Bass Guitar:

This one impressed me! I have had over 20 basses including 4 vintage Fenders and this Ibanez SR600 is one of my favorites! Reasons being the fast slim neck, the awsome pickups, and the blend control. It feels and looks great, although,it would have been nice to have one peice body. It is now my primary bass. It is played on SWR and Ampeg amps.
