I usually never write or read reviews because sometimes I find them so off the wall or actually have nothing to do with the product (i.e. a shipping problem or a scratch). I bought this bass because I've yet to own a 5 string, played bass for years. Now this is my main go-to bass. For the money this is it!! I usually stay clear of Ibanez stuff because it looks too Heavy Metal looking for my taste. This instrument proved me wrong - Tons of compliments on it, feels and sounds great. Just a small truss rod teak and this bass was ready to go. I'm extremely happy with this purchase and honestly you can't go wrong with it, trust me.

I Just got this massive bass this week and WOW, I've played the SR505 at GC for some years now and was going to get one. I took a chance and got the SR605 and WOW I am so impressed with it, that I'm thinking of getting a four string model too. I picked it up right out of the box made some minor tuning and started playing it. The tone was awesome great lows, christal clear low B. This is the main reason why I don't buy 5 strings because its hard to find one that doesn't muddy up when playing, but this one is a keeper. It has so much punch and the MID switch is killer if your a slapper like I, then it makes it supper easy to switch between finger and slap styles.I have been playing for 13 years now and I have a wide range of basses but I always come back to Ibanez. If you want great tone and sharp looks get this bass its the best one I've bought yet.
