Get the sound you want with the looks you love from Jackson and David Ellefson.

The David Ellefson CB-X 4-string X-Series bass is a formidable addition to the Jackson bass family, bearing the personal stamp and distinctive features of the fleet-fingered Megadeth bassist. From its earth-shaking dual humbucking pickups to its lightspeed compound-radius fingerboard and sophisticated onboard controls, the CB-X is pure Jackson and pure Ellefson in sound, feel, look and value.

Some features include an alder Concert Bass body with a gloss finish in Black or Quicksilver for killer looks. Its bolt-on, quartersawn maple neck with special profile shape, ivoroid binding and oiled finish give it a solid yet smooth, playable feel. The rosewood fingerboard with 21 jumbo frets and shark fin inlays, and ivoroid-bound black headstock with '90s-style Jackson logo give the CB-XV an unmistakable look.

The EMG humbucking neck (HZ35N) and bridge (HZ35B) pickups and EMG BEQ3 active preamp are the perfect set of electronics to help you dial in the sound you want. Domed volume, three-band EQ and blend control knobs, high-mass four-string bridge, black hardware, and David Ellefson silver "Fallout" logo on the truss rod cover round out the awesome looks and utility of this shredder's dream. Comments about Jackson Dave Ellefson Signature CBX X Series Electric Bass Guitar:

First off, I'm not a bass player. I'm a guitar player who plays high-end USA and custom Jacksons. I bought this bass simply to add bass tracks to my recordings. Right out of the box it was ready to go.

The only thing I want to change with it is the pickups. For the price the stock pups are fine, but of course higher end EMG's, such as the 35DC's that comes with the USA model will be much better. A small price to instantly make this bass seriously rock!

The neck feels great. It's easy to play. And even with stock pups it still sounds pretty good.

If you're looking for a good looking, rockin' bass, to just jam out on or to record bass tracks with regardless if you're a beginner or have played for years, you cannot go wrong with this bass! Period!

Great Bass to put in your face

Comments about Jackson Dave Ellefson Signature CBX X Series Electric Bass Guitar:

These basses rock. Truly come with a ton of great features. The active electronics kick butt. The necks are great. The bodies are light and comfortable. If you're able to get over the pointy headstock these are pretty awesome alternatives to the Squires and Fenders, easliy.
tons of tonal features. this is my second Dave Ellefson bass. Now I have a 4 string and 5 string version.
I bought this used in condition 2 from MF. Only slight wear. Between both of DE Jackson basses both have some minor finish issues with the silver finish. The control cavities on both are well done. Clean wiring and painted with the black ground paint. Tuners aren't the best. The frets are finished much better on my 5 string. Both basses have nice binding though.

No set up required for the 5 string version. I had to lower the action on the 4 string, but able to set it up with the same specs as the 5 string.
Definetely belive Jackson is delivering the value on these basses. Can't imagine how much better the higher priced version is over these for 1/10th the price.

    Great value bass

Comments about Jackson Dave Ellefson Signature CBX X Series Electric Bass Guitar:

Only reason I can't give it a 10 is because I imagine the pro quality model is even better.... somehow. Dave and Jackson made a great bass for a great price. Feels great in my hands, and when put through my Marshall, sounds like amazing.
This bass was meant to play fast and brutal. The neck is incredibly comfortable, and the whole instrument is perfectly balanced. The EMGs and active electronics can be shaped into a myriad of sounds, from kinda heavy to what I imagine war sounds like. Just wish the neck thru wasn't so expensive.
Great quality, feels solid and as if I could beat it up (not that I want too). Very slight gap between the neck and body near the edge of the fingerboard, again wishing I could afford the neck thru. No fret buzz at all, on any note.
This bass could probably sell for twice it's price. Great value, I will keep this for life. I've had it for two months and played it for hours on end, day after day. Still shows no signs of letting up.
