Compound Radius Neck
The neck is the most important part of any bass. The Jackson JS2 has a compound radius neck that begins with a smaller radius at the nut that gradually becomes larger as you play up towards the bridge. Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I've had this bass for a couple years now, and it has been more than reliable. For stock brand pickups, they absolutely pound. Extremely hot. Lightweight, yet still carries a good tone. Not really a fan of the two volume knobs, but that's really it. Didn't even need to adjust it when it came in. Extremely versatile tone for any type of music you play.

Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

          This bass is AMAZING!
I bought it as a step up from the Crate Electra bass I used previously. Obviously I knew the quality would be leaps and bounds above the other, but this bass goes above and beyond my expectations.

I bought this bass because of its thin neck. (I play a lot of chords)But I didn't expect the tone to be nearly as versatile as it is. The active pickups give you a ton of treble control, and you can change the tone of each pickup, adding even more range.

It is a shame that slapping is pretty much impossible since the strings are so close, but I never did slapping or pluck anyway.

Bottom Line: This bass is WELL worth the money! (if you can sacrifice slapping)

Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

This is a good bass for a starter. It was my first bass and it taught me a lot. Although I quickly bought another due to the heaviness of this one. It would kill my back at band practice. Also the top B string is a little fuzz and it runs through batteries like they're nothing. But a good starter guitar.

The tone controls along with the pickups are what make this bass sing, and it plays great.

Great value, the price is worth the guitar. The humbuckers are great and the multiple knobs make the tone extremely versitile.
The b-string has a little more buzz to it than I personally like but I think I can adjust it.

this bass is awesome, is my first bass and I decided to start with a five string, the strings are a little close to each other so it's kinda hard to slap and pluck, but it'n not something that practice wouldn't solve... because of tha bass having a tilt back headstock, I don't know what case to get, I think that an universal case would do the job :\

Great feel - Good Sound - 34" scale NOT 35" scale

              By

              from Indiana

Comments about Jackson JS3V Concert 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

              Well worth the money.
I just got this bass. The look and feel is awesome. String spacing is tight on this model for me. I am used to wider necked basses.

I love the preamp. Its got a wide range of available tones. The two pickups sound great and rolling a bit off of each is a fantastic way to make some great tones.

One thing though. This bass is NOT 35" scale as is stated in the description. Its 34".
I know how to measure and what I measured matches what Jackson says on its website.
I contacted musiciansfriend about this and they said they would get it corrected but have not.
There may be some people who would or would not buy this bass with the scale length being what it is. I love this bass and am keeping it but had I known it was a 34" I might not have ordered. Some people may have the opposite issue.
              Feels well made.
I was kind of worried about the cedar body but its real nice.
              Mine weighs 9 lbs.
The price for this is HOT.
less than 400 for a real jackson.
